  1. leave any ideas that you though that you had at the door approach it with a critical and open mind. Examine any passages that you think sound strange two or three times those should allow you to get a lot out of it.
  2. It would certainly be within the realm of possibility due to the fact that Kaladin served under Amraam. He could have been Kal's drill sergeant or the like when he was first starting out in Amraam's army.
  3. When you ask a random animal on the street to take a poll about a random women who appears out of thin air.
  4. As @Calderis correctly pointed out the foreign nature of Shadesmar makes it rather dangerous to someone who is unfamiliar with the rules of the realm.
  5. Granted you are now the servant of every person in the world. Your job is to satisfy all of their whims which makes them happy. I call upon the powers of the nightwatcher to fulfill my boon. I wish for my will to become synonymous with the state of reality.
  6. Perhaps channing tatum for Ham, Tom Hiddleston for marsh, J-law for Shan Elariel.
  7. My favorite is Hoid's epilogue scene in WoR! It is one the funniest scenes in any book I have ever read. In second place is the exchange between Kaladin and Hoid where Kaladin says... that is a scene with implications that are not necessarily immediately understood which is the brilliance of that sequence.
  8. The fact that he was lifeless and most probably would have had an issue traveling through the CR to get elsewhere is a rather large hole in that theory.
  9. The value would be religious and historical as has already been stated.
  10. Jasnah discovers the existence of oath gates opens one and travels to urithiru where she and Shallan resume their relationship as teacher and student Zahel runs into Szeth and some words are exchanged The members of the 17nth shard catch up with Hoid and try to capture him. Whereupon he beats them with little effort and walks away. Kaladin will run into Roshone, but will spare his life and follow his oaths instead of seeking revenge. Renarin will at some point save Adolin's life.
  11. I would tend to agree with that sentiment. He is not bound by it at all so far as we know.
  12. That may be true if it were added to something to help with the awakening. To actually have it awaken on its own is something which even assuming your proof would be a difficult assertion to make.
  13. I think that it may in fact be spot on the idea of picking a champion could have multiple facets a practical you can't directly battle a shard as a mortal being. Connected to this may well be the idea that once champions are picked by both sides for reasons unknown both sides conceivable could be bound to this 1 on 1 showdown.
  14. While that may be partially true I suppose can you it something which "lived". It may have been a component of something which lived, but the fact is that it itself was not ever reallly alive. That and the issue of not resembling something alive would be at play in the difficulty of awakening it.
  15. Granted, but the sheer desire to dominate leads the earth to ultimately enslave the other planets. I wish for the ability to create the most beautiful works of art in the history of the universe.
  16. IT is fascinating to consider for all intents and purposes order vs the ultimate force of hatred. Advantage on experience would go to odium whereas power is much less clear. He may be limited in his intent. He seeks balance much as Preservation sought to maintain the status quo hence his attack may not follow through as was seen in the SH with preservation. As for the hypothetical I doubt it simply for reason of intent which is to cause the end of something which would be something rationally considered which a prolonged war against another shard is not.
  17. Would you rather be held captive by a blood sealer indefinitely or be trapped for all eternity with hoid in the well of ascension
  18. By austre, the stormfather, the nameless god, and the lord ruler says I the lot of you are cremlings devoid of what it takes to win a war of words. Your insults lack the color of a drab and your jokes are about as intelligent as a chull. I would sooner light a fire in the evening upon therenody than listen to your lifeless jabber. Dullform would a reward when compared to your blather. A wind spren can do more harm in a heartbeat than the attacks that you throw could do in a lifetime. A koloss would die of boredom before the first sentenced was ever uttered. Mark me as the victim of a blood sealer before subjecting me to the death by a thousand uninspired blunted assaults of your hoed afflicted tongues.
  19. I thought that the book was better in terms of pace than Elantris. The ending does satisfy and the low page count makes it a great novella overall.
  20. The book totally shocked me ,but in a good way. The action was intense the stakes were very real. Kandra with red eyes appeared and Kelsier that survivor comes back from the dead after more than three centuries. I take my hat off to this book and its shocking conclusion.
  21. I don't think that it would be possible in any practical way..
  22. I suppose that in a theoretical sense it might be possible, however i would also imagine that the complexity of such a command would make it practically impossible to pull off.
  23. The night blood reference as well as his use of colors in his comments.
