  1. I read ES again today and noticed something odd. however... Now these cases could be just hypocrisy at work however the fact that they are on the same planet and in the case of ES no real reason is stated for the hatred I am inclined to think that there is something else at play here. Any thoughts?
  2. Elokhar will abdicate the throne and insist that Dalinar take it Taravangian will be the victim of a coup by his "minders" Nale will dispense a little justice Amraams way Hoid will reveal a little bit about his plan for Roshar Navani will figure out how to create shardplate
  3. How exactly does one pay boxings or an order of radiant named after the proprietor?
  4. I would think as @randuir said was suggested that hoid would have wanted to build stability a la creating a better emperor by using one the world's best forgers.
  5. Elantris because... I know that it was a very early work, but it was still difficult for me to get through.
  6. I very much like the idea of a of a call of duty style game for something like Warbreaker.
  7. Beryllium- this metal confers the allomantic ability to blunt the power of any weapon bullets fired at a person burning gallium or any one who they are touching would drop to the ground harmlessly upon striking a person using it. Feruchemically it allows one to store imagination. While one is storing it one becomes unable to think creatively in any way. When used tapped it exponentially increases the creative thinking abilities of the user. Beryllium mistings are known as shieldings while ferrings of beryllium are known as shapers.
  8. That seems most likely considering the fact that if my memory serves me others from bridge 4 experienced the same thing.
  9. That's true though one might ask if the above mentioned are in fact similar to the returned. The nature of Endowment requires that something be given that is how the intent and power of the shard works it thus follows that a being formed of said intent is only capable of holding together if that intent is fulfilled. Thus for example in the SA Honor's creation of Knights radiant can only function if the intent I.E. honor is intact. It may not be a choice that endowment makes it may simply be a fact which follows after its existence as a side effect. The fact that those who have given return is another example of a simple side effect therof. Not necessarily an indication of cognitive shadows at work.
  10. And that is just about as honest an answer to this question as you will find.
  11. I do believe that simply put that provides the sustenance which makes them immortal. In all likelihood the actual body of the god is a manifestation of investiture. Hence without a fresh infusion like any sort of battery the charge will dissipate and the host will die.
  12. Ladies and Gentlemen I would like to point to the one that constantly flies under the radar. The Vengeance obsessed, serial killing, manipulative, con man, out and out liar, he uses a child to do his dirty work and almost gets her killed, he also almost single handedly brings about the end of the world,Kelsier who earns great praise for being a hero and yet he is someone who in the real world would be seen as less than dirt. I give to you the cosmere's #1 despicable human being.

  14. You have to throw in straff venture just to make things fun. Then you have Rashek forcing them to bow to his will. Straff would declare himself the king and make an under the table deal with Sadeas which will quickly be broken. Taravangian would indeed secretly plot their demise while adopting the guise of a senile old man. Meanwhile Hrathen is preaching his religion and is the only one without an uinderhanded scheme. Oh they would destroy each other so much ego and power in the same room would put on a grand show.
  15. To me this was a very different type of story than the other cosmere tales. This is not a grand story about injustice or evil empires this is the story of an ordinary person persevering in (Pardon the pun) a hellish situation. She looks after her family and in the process faces her inner demons. She learns how to survive despite the darkness which surrounds her. All in all a excellently written story.
  16. It is quite possible that the protesting ardent is in fact Paliah. The fact that she objected so loudly to the lies(which is her protesting the untruths being propagated as opposed to the truths that should have been discovered.) May in fact be part of the corruption of her character. The order of the truthwatchers were a secretive bunch as a result her standing up now could well be seen as a reversal or denunciation of the very practice that she started.
  17. That is the high and low of it as explained by the book.
  18. Both are quite correct in their assessments. I would also add that you should enter as well as observe the events throughout with a critical and open mind.
  19. As it has been stated Nale has indeed taken back his as has the one who is calling himself stone sinew. The guilt of how they abandoned mankind and left them to suffer may well explain why most leave their blades behind. The pain of constantly being reminded of their betrayal might well be something that they want to stay away from hence the reason that they no longer desire to posses the honorblades. It is also possible that the blades being unbound and used by those who are not suppose to lead to the madness which consumes them. This may well explain the voices that haunted Szeth while he wielded the honorblade. Once the pact broke and the connection between them was severed their"divine qualities" may well have begun to turn against them leading to the corruption of Nale's sense of justice etc...
  20. As has been stated Adolin is completely loyal to his family. He did not betray dalinar despite his perceived madness, nor does he turn his back on Renarin his ill brother even though it may reflect badly on him to retain his loyalties. As was also stated he did what he thought was necessary when killing Sadeas if he had truly been taken by Odium why wouldn't he simply kill his father and be done with it. Dalinar would not see it coming he could stage it like an accident if he so desired and be done with it. He also became appalled by the thrill and the slaughter he did not embrace it. I would not be surprised if in Oathbringer and beyond he struggles with what he had to do to protect his family. The weight of this problem may yet cure him of his frivolous and shallow behavior. Perhaps he will despite not having a nahel bond stand up to Odium's champion and seek redemption for his actions.
  21. Part of it may also have to do with the purpose of having the returned to begin with.Endowment is all about giving. It gives life back to these returned in the form of a super powerful breath. That in turn is meant to eventually heal one whom the returned chooses. The memories of the past might just serve to distract from that mission. If the returned had their memories would they pursue this mission from endowment or would they simply seek to go back to their old lives?
