What would Fused with Adhesion be like?
alder24 replied to JustQuestin2004's topic in Stormlight Archive
I like the idea of sticky skin. So how about skin like a goo, that's super adhesive, and can stick even to a side of Shardblade stopping it? Sticking alone won't help during fight, but if he has skin that is thick and jelly-like, then he can stop any weapon and strike without being hurt.- 19 replies

How did the Oathpact work on the Fused?
alder24 replied to JustQuestin2004's question in Cosmere Q&A
I don't think so. It was mention that Heralds returned to Braize after they thought humans can fight on their own. So most likely after some big battle, when humanity was on a winning path, Heralds returned to Braize and sealed off any Fuzed from returning to Roshar. Everyone that still was on Roshar would have to be killed by Radiants and humans first. Heralds on Braize were preventing return, but nowhere it said that they were taking every Fused with them. -

You guys are having great ideas. Nice one with friction @Tglassy So I'm changing mine, as I realized I can finally use my Atium spike to cheat the system! Mistborn + Feruchemist (384 points), Duralumin spike to steel connection from Bondsmith + Atium spike to steal Bondsmith 5th ideal power from Stormfather! I cheated the system for 312 points! (https://wob.coppermind.net/events/135/#e3347). Dead Shardblade (709 points), Fused - The fannahn-im, or Those Ones of Alteration for soulcasting and unmaking sprens (729) and Elantrian power (929) + Retured (954) + Larkin (939) + Prime Cubes (944) + 3 Aluminum spikes as a weapon and 4rd heightening (1000). The only thing I wanted to do, was to cheat the system Frustration made and with Hemalurgy acquire something for a cheaper price. Now I did it. I'm a Fullborn, who became fascinated wtih Nalthis, to where I moved . After many tries I manage to speak with Endowment personally and she made me into Returned with sole purpose of winning this competition. Using my emotional allomancy, duralumin compounting, and dream visions, I manage to strike a deal with Todium, and befriended 5th Ideal Bondsmith on Roshar. I convinced him to take me to Stormfather vision place, when I use fortune and steel compounding and manage to spike both Bondsmith. stealing his connection and Stormfather, stealing power of Bondsmithing. With this, my deal with Todium was fulfilled and he made me into Fused, The fannahn-im, with soulcasting and ability to unmade sprens. Then I spiked myself, which grants me the power of Bondsmithing. I connected myself to a Larkin, steal Oathbringer, and then I traveled to Sel, and with my new powers, I made myself into Elantiran. I collected more Breaths and made 3 aluminum spikes and buy a prime cube(s?) in preperation for this turnament. Now I can use boosted soulcasting with my superrior powers and compounding. I'm gonna use my first aluminum spike and steel compounding to spike @Frustration with the intent to remove his Bondsmithing powers but not Dawnshard (so I'm not triggering Dawnshard self-protection, if that's possible). I'm doing the same with @The Known Novel to get rid of Dawnshard users. I'm gonna use perpendicularity to transfer into CR, and from there, I will use boosted Soulcasting and transform whole arena into huge, infinite lava pit, to make fight more epic. I also will find some Lightweaver and with my boosting, he's gonna lightweave some epic music to play while we fighting in the lava pit. From CR, I'm going to soulcast everyone's metalminds and medalions in to some sweet pie, and with Bondsmith connection manipulation, I will remove soulcaster sprens connection to PR and deny everyone soulcasting and other fabrials. I will unmade everyone's spren and transfer their bonds to myself. With my Bondsmith ability and Fused prayers I will never run out of Stormlight and Voidlight, so I'm gonna do some Voidbinding to see what it does. From CR I can soulcast everyone's tools like coins and metalminds. I can soulcast air in the arena into toxic fumes. And when I will transfer back into PR, I will soulcast my way through the lava and I will use my remaining aluminum spike for everyone who still might be a threat to me, and remove their powers. I will also use lifeless bugs with diamoned tiped mandible - they will crawl onto my enemies, cracked their gems, eat into their eyes and brain. I will also Awaken, as a lifeless, every killed contestant just to confused and distract others, and for my additional protection. With infinite healing from multiple sources I can literally submarge myself into lava and strike from below. With all of this with fortune compounding and Returned visions, I hope that I will overcome everyone else and win. If I can restore my dead shardblade into living state via Bondsmith connection, then I'm doing it, and forcing bond on new spren. It should be possible, as it's connection issue that made Deadeye. Maybe I will even unmade him. Hmm can I steal the Dawnshard with Bondsmith connection? It's different from a spike, and with enough connection and identity compounding, Dawnshard might think of me as a better vessel. I'm targeting you Frustration. -
Yes, Pits were moved. During WoA Terris settle in Pits, and right next to them was Kandra Homeland. In HoA most people in Luthadel moved to Pits and most likely many hide in them from heat of the sun and Koloss. Kredik Shaw was also moved to Elendel because some people were hidden in there. Most people doesn't know that Pits are now in Elendel as it's still Kandra sacred land, hidden from humanity. If Pits were still working, or Atium was being made, Marsh would collect it. He needs Atium to live.

Forger have to make Soulstamps on the arena or can walk in with pre-prepared ones? @Frustration new rules needed! If he needs to do them, then he's useless, otherwise, my "genius" idea can still work. Bendalloy gets faster with more power, as you can squeeze more investiture out of the metal and this speeds up time. To form extreame time bubble, use duralumin. In that time bubble I could do all Soulstamps I want. -

They can be placed on plane, ship, submarine, remote island - and if you try to go after them on a plane, they'll just send a rocket to you. I agree, going after politicians will be terrifying, but they can be put on plane cruising 10km above, with aerial refueling, and you can't get them. Many officers are most likely trained to resist torture, especially those who know secret locations, so emotional allomancy won't do it for them. You can't make up emotion that they don't feel, like willingness to betray their country. I know. I also disagree on how much would government have to pay for it, but this might be because I personally wouldn't go that far. But the government would be only fearful of you if you start killing everyone around (including government) you before they detect you. If they detect you first, they will act first, hoping they have upper hand, and that they can stop you before you will cause them problems. -

This was more of a fun thought and I assume bag of stormlight or something will be laying around as it was not included in the list, and I would grab it and fuel forgery with it. But, yeah, it doesn't make sense to assume that. But, by this WoB, If I added jar of Dor for 300 points to the Forger, then I can forge myself to became Bondsmith with this Dor, and then use all the Stormlight from perpendicularity to forge all other abilities! So doable. Kind of. I was thinking about forging a bond to a Stormfather specifically so he can provide me with required Stormlight to fuel further forgery and all other abilities, without any more Dor being used. Would it be doable? Edit: @The Known Novel I don't know if I understand you correctly. You mean like e.g. become a steel ferring from spike, make metalmind, then remove the spike and still be able to access that metalmind and tap it? I don't think so, as you aren't ferring any more. They would be keyed to you, but you can't draw from them. That's why nicrosil is needed in medalions, to grant ability of a ferring so you can access metalminds in the first place. But on the other hand if you can tap nicrosilmind without being nicrosilferring in the first place.. However Bleeder chose to remain steelferring, and if she only needed her metalminds keyed to her, she would change her spike for coinshooter and still be able to use her steelmind - she didn't do that. I think so, but might be wrong. -

Oh yes, me too, I had to check it. Well, bad news. Vin controlled Kandra with only 2 spikes. Trellium is what allowed Set not to be controlled and they still have to be limited to 5 spikes. And compounding doesn't work with Harmony hemalurgy. That's why I chose full Feruchemy. Unless we ignore it and use pre-Harmony hemalurgy? But "all powers work as normal". Cool build, still. -

The only thing explosion needs to do is to seperate Fullborn from his metalminds, which can be done. Then he's dead, as he can't heal anymore. Blowing up the house might do it, or not - it depends on many circumstances, but it's doable. Powerfull explosion will do it, no need for evaporation of Fullborn. Rockets can travel up to Mach 5 - it's hard to react to that speed even for Fullborn. While he's inside, he won't be able to react to this for sure. Pushing it away - steel push doesn't have that big range, so you're cutting your reaction time even more, to just miliseconds before explosion - he can push it with F-iron, which would crush the rocket and trigger its explosion, which he would survive most likely. There is a difference between healing the bullet sent through your head, and your whole body exploded into thousend pieces. Yes he can heal that, but if explosion is just right, it might seperate his metalminds from him, which would stop healing. Time bubbles would be great help for him, for sure. Fortune as well. I'm not arguing that he can't fight effectively against the government, he can, he has many tricks up his sleeve. But our technology is far supperior. Sooner or later he would be killed. He will run out of gold if he has to constantly compound to heal explosions or one of them would kill him. They will figure out fast that he can't push aluminum, and then they will made aluminum missiles. I think he can't heal around aluminum, so a shrapnel in his heart or brain will be draining him constantly, or might be even deadly. He will be constantly watched by satellites and even sonic speed won't make them lose him. And also government has access to global inteligence - you don't. It's about turning you into Fullborn. Do you know how military works? Do you know from where they command? Do you know where are their secret hideouts? Do you know their procedures? You can fight them, you can kill some officers, but you won't cripple them. You'll be just minor inconvenience. Yes, Fullborn can do a lot - but he won't win this fight. He won't be able to do that much damage. If he does, then he triggers nuclear responseand will be dead, and they don't have to nuke a city for it. -

Who said to carpet bomb the city? Blowing up single house would kill Fullborn. With enough planning and spying with cameras, drones and agents, they could pin point his location and send fast rocket that he won't avoid. -

I agree and disagree. They are different. Kaladin's flashbacks provide great character arc and are more warm and family centered. They are more relatable to us. Yet Shallan's flashbacks offer something else - mystery and secrets. There is many little details hidden in Shallan's flashbacks. She is also fun to read. I found myself equally as engaged in Shallan's chapters as in Kaladin's, on second and further rereads. -

Storm it. That's hard. Why do you have to be so borded? I just want to go for 10th Heightening straight away, cause I love it so much, and I don't care if I win or lose, I just run away from the arena, and have fun being God-King! But let's think seriously now. Mistborn + Feruchemist (384 points), Fullborn is a good start. Next 3rd oath Bondsmith (500 points, Stormfather of course) and I still have 116 points left. Primer cubes (5 points) and a Dead Shardblade (12 points). And I think I can use 2 spikes to steal both connection and ability form Radiant and his spren, so I'm taking Soulcasing from 5th ideal Elsecaller (24 point - https://wob.coppermind.net/events/135/#e3347). Now I can use boosted Soulcasting, whatever it does! Edit - I can't I need Atium spike. To replace it dead shardplate, but that's not as good. Edit Edit Edit - I take offensive alluminum spike with knowledge of how to remove all powers from my opponents. I take 2 of them, just to hold them in hands and spike anyone too powerful! (24 points) And I still have 75 points left. 1st Oath Windrunner to fly (25 points, 4edit - can I with only 1st Oath?), and to finished - 5th heightening (40 points). I have 10 points left, so give me Returned, who was send back just to win this competition and a Larkin for a friend. What did I win? But I think 3th Ideal Bondsmith or 5th Ideal Radiant (Dustbrinnger the best) with Dawnshard would always win Also sleepless can't be affected by hemalurgy, hordling would split form it if spiked - https://wob.coppermind.net/events/122/#e3319 Also also, isn't that too costly? "Mistborn powers granted by the Well of Ascension(TLR's strength) - 1000 points". You can't be Fullborn then and that's what made Rashek Lord Ruler. Edit Edit - or I can take just forgery and forge my way up 5th ideal full Radiant and Fullborn with Dawnshard for JUST 20 points :D) -
Is there an anti-shard currently? No. So was there anti-Adonalsium? No. Can you make anti-investiture? Yes, Could you make anti-investiture when Adonalsium still was alive? Yes, nothing has changed, it was still investiture and it still could be made anti version from it. You just needed to find a wavelength opposite to Adonalsium. Did people back then know about anti-investiture? We don't know. Hard to say. I doubt tbf. Investiture is all around, so any big amount of anti-investiture would annihilate in contact with investiture. Any anti-being would have a hard time avoiding investiture - how would it work with Spiritual Realm? It's full of Investiture, so how anti-investuture being could be there without imploding?

Atium exist in Cosmere, not on Earth. ICBM can reach speed of 7km/s - Atium won't help you. All missiles are hypersonic, so they are faster than 343m/s. Many travels up to 5 times speed of sound (1.7km/s). Good luck pushing it away with steel. And planes and drones can track your heat signature and hit you with bunker buster rockets, which can penetrate a lot of concrete. Edit - Not to mention small tactical nuclear weapons, which would vaporize you instantly, or strategic ones from which you can't run away, as they create fireball several kilometers in diameter. -
Other potential members of the Ghostbloods?
alder24 replied to Toaster Retribution's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Vivenna has her own mission related to Nightblood and Vasher, I doubt she is a member of Ghostbloods. We need to find people from other worlds that wouldn't like what Autonomy is doing, as that's Ghostbloods main enemy at this moment, or people who like to act or need help. This isn't really narrowing it down, does it? Felt is most likely not a Ghostblood, as Shallan search for traitor and Felt would try to spy on her and relay message to Mraize. However his wife, Malli, that might be kandra, or kandra that is on Roshar could be Ghostbloods. Malli traveled with Felt to Lasting Integrity so I doubt she is, unless she had specific orders. I do also think so, but for a different reasons. If BAM got freed, she would joined Odium's forces, and allying with Odium, would allow Ghostbloods to gain access to her abilities of creating Voidlight and manipulating connection. They would achieve what they're after. -

Airplane is too far away from you and you can't push on it or even send something so high away. Even 1km above the ground would be unreachable for a Fullborn. Vin at best could Duralumin steel pushed herself just several hundreds meters away (WoA saving Breeze and killing Straff), without Duralumin, just dozens, or so, meters, no higher. You can't fly, planes can. Missiles are moving very fast. Extremely fast. And they won't explode when they're touched, they detonate using radar, sound waves, a magnetic sensor, or a laser to tell them how far away from the target they are. They can correct their path. Intercepting them with coins would be very, very hard and it would still do nothing, as coin is to light and to slow to do any damage to rocket. You can't push rocket away with steel, allomancy doesn't have that great range - and rockets are moving very fast and would cover that range in less than a second. Even if you manage to push it away and it explodes, you would be in range of explosion and they can just send a bigger one, that would kill you from that range. TLM spoilers You're a Fullborn - but I doubt you will get to Lord Ruler or Bands level of Fullborn. Regular Kelsier level, at best Elend level from Lerasium. That's still not enough to deal with modern equipment. They only need to wait a day or so, for your metals to get expelled from your body, if they catch you. Then you just a human. -
I think Brandon didn't confirmed if she'd spoken 4th one or not. So it's somewhere between. Also I don't remember but some people claimed that Shallan can soulcast at the end of RoW normally. I can't check this unfortunately. Testament is seperate bond, so it progress differently than Patern's. I personally think she'd already spoken at least 3rd or even 4th with Testament as a kid - which I'm judging on sentences spoken by Shallan when she broke her bond with Testament. I believe words are important when breaking the bond. There were 6 short sentences, 3 would be use to negate 1st ideal(Life before death. Strength before weakness. Journey before destination.), and then one sentence for each Truth higher. Also I wonder how much was she involved with Ghostbloods during her childhood - they suggest to know a lot about her childhood, she used Seon as a kid. What I believe will be her final Truth is (possible minor SA5 prolog spoilers later in discussion - it's in "Cosmere discussion" forum, but main post is cleared of spoilers I think):

alder24 replied to MangoBoi101's topic in Mistborn
Duralumin grants one time only pull - magnets work all the time. So you would use your one Duralumin pull, but magnet would still pull your Metalminds away from you, leaving you with big hole and no healing. And you wouldn't be that powerful (you're not Lord Ruler) to pull full metalminds back to you without Duralumin - even with it might not be as strong as magnet's pull. Magnets can be insanely strong. Still, that piece of metal would ripped your insides apart when pulled by you (as they are pulled to the middle of your chest, not just to you) - which might be visible. And no, they won't assume metal detectors are faulty - it's like assuming they are stupid. -
Madness has no bearing on bonding a spren, it's spren decision. Shallan isn't perfectly sane as well, and yet she is bonded. If spren is willing to bond a mad person, then bond will be made. Moreover madness creates cracks in soul, which makes it easier for spren to create bond. Shalash madness is manifested in destructive manner which is fitting for Dustbringers, as they like to destroy stuff,

alder24 replied to MangoBoi101's topic in Mistborn
Airport security would be a nightmare for you. How do you explain them that you have a big chunk of metals inside your body just sitting there? Also, they can extract them from you with powerful magnets, which won't be hard. They can just put you in or next to MRI. If they already know that your powers come from metal, they would check you with metal detector. Fullborn would be a threat to government, and people are stupid, they fear what they don't know and what is more powerful than them - they would target you just to "harness" your power. And if they can't control you, they would try to kill you. Fullborn can do damage, but they are far from being invincible. Powerfull explosion would melt and vaporize your metalminds instantly, depriving you out of your most powerful tools. And you sure know how many explosives US government can send at you? Regular explosion, which would rip apart your body, throwing away your metalminds, would be deadly for a Fullborn. And I'm not gonna even mention 14000 nuclear warheads across the world. Plane 10km above your head. Ship in the middle of ocean. Submarine. Aluminum - which is used everywhere - sooner or later they will realise that you can't push aluminum away, and that will be your end. Fullborn doesn't look that powerful in our world, sure he can do some cool stuff, but technology and modern industry can outdone him in every aspect. Even in Fortune, AI can predict his movements better than he can use Fortune (it is more like a gut feeling and coincidences, than a future visions). -
I don't think there would be lots of uses of 1-10 Breaths, because one limiting factor - making Awaken object as human-like as possible. Lifeless are very much as close to life as it is physically possible in shape, size and composition. The other objects not so much. The cost in Breaths decreases with more human-like objects, that are more familiar with being alive. So I think the cheepest one would be a little human dolls made out of your own hair - creepy. Ropes out of your own human hair would also be more valuable, and might be capable of doing some simple commands of poor Nalthian (like up, down, catch etc.). I don't remember what was the cost of Awakening ropes, dolls, clothes and others, so it's hard to tell how much Breath would other commands take. Command "return after an hour' won't work - object would need to understand abstract concept of time, which, if possible, would require a lot of Breaths, and they can't just "return" - it's not an action, they could however move or try to make noise - which still would require more Breaths - this is not possible for any poor Nalthian. So I don't think there is anything Nalthians can do with single Breath. With 10 there might be, if they made object as life-like as possible, with 50 (1st Heightening) there would be a lot of uses. If the family is commited enough, they can gather all their Breaths and give them to one person, which would be enough for 1st Heightening - but that's like giving away half of your money without wanting them to pay you back. Also, while it sounds very resourceful for dying people to gave away their Breaths, I don't think this is happening very often. First of all, most deaths would happen by accident or illness, while people still believe they can recover, and therefore would need their Breaths. Secondly people still are attach to their Breaths, and they might not feel about them as their soul as Idrians do, but still consider them as a important part of themselves, rather than just a useful resource. Thirdly, if this practice was common, then we would see a lot of poor people with 1st Heightenings, or higher, walking around the city, as they would accumulate that number of Breaths through the years - we dont' see them. So while some smart one might do this, it won't be a common sight. So not many would acctually have a use for single Breaths, rather than simple health boost - which isn't widely acceptable fact.

They don't respond normally that's the problem. That currnet is also not normal for nerves. Tasers can cause injury or death. Autoimmune disease or allergy would also be normal and non-healable? I don't agree also on burning through healing - Miles showed us how much healing compounder can have. Healing electrical signals is far less intensive than healing explosion in your face. -

alder24 replied to MangoBoi101's topic in Mistborn
They have lasers, cameras with AI, and huge industrial magnets. You can't fly, you just push away from the ground, closely to the it - every jet in the sky would be out of your range. They disturb proper electrical signals in your nerves (is that how they work?), which I think could be "healed". -
No, they are unkeyed, everyone can use them. She just used that to get them first.
