  1. I think he's referring to the Autonomy faction the last shard game. I was Cultivation, and I had the ability to refill abilities with a specified number of uses. I had a protect ability and Doc had a protect ability, so I spammed my Shardic power and the whole faction got a basically unlimited number of protections. The elims converted me midway through, and I played to that win con, which was probably the only thing that kept the Autonomy team from breaking the game.
  2. Elenion is an Tolkien-elvish word featured in the elvish poem "A Elbereth Gilthoniel". At one point I had a couple lines of the poem memorized, but then I forgot most of them, and this was the one I remembered. Apparently it's also the name of some tech company out there.
  3. If you're not sure if you can make time for this LG, you could always consider joining MR28.
  4. Yeah, and the seam between the same guy's torso and arm looks the same as the place where the leg comes out from behind him.
  5. It's the left side: someone's leg is in the picture right above a bag of sand. That looks like an elbow, but it's a knee; you can tell because the limb ends in a boot that's unfortunately the same color as the bag. So while there aren't really any extra limbs, it looks like there's an extra arm.
  6. Sexy eyebrows is a better reason for liking someone than them having a tight butt in their old age, IMO.
  7. Well, that explains it. *muses thoughtfully* Not much I can do about that.
  8. (You have to have a rather specific background to get this one) Admiral Ackbar walks into a club. The DJ drops a sick beat and somebody says, "I'm loving this dubstep." Admiral Ackbar says, "This isn't a dubstep, it's a trap!"
  9. I'm a shift leader at a fast food place. I applied at the end of my junior year, when the summer was starting and they needed more employees. I just walked in, asked for an application because they had a help wanted sign up, and filled it out. Once hired I put in more hours than most and eventually trained in every position, and at about 8 months in I got the promotion to shift leader. I'm now fourth in seniority among all evening workers, so I can get basically as many hours as I want at the times I want.
  10. “Move!” Ashkelon yelled as he kicked the prone body in the side. “Ashkelon, take it easy with the temper, will ya?” Camilla chided him, “that man lies there every night dead drunk, and yet you never cease to torment him.” “Well if he’s just get his stinking carcass off of our roadside, I wouldn’t have to.” “He’s probably got some problems,” Jeremiah chipped in, “a guy who hits the bottle like that has obviously got something he wants to forget about.” “Well if he’s going to get smashed enough to pass out, he could at least pick a better spot than this,” Ashkelon gestured at the carriages and pedestrians that passed by, paying little heed to the three students nor the passed-out man. At this hour of the night, they were likely to be headed home. Camilla spoke up. “Ashkelon, this is why you don’t have a girlfriend,” she said as she took Jeremiah’s hand. “With an attitude like yours I’m amazed you even have drinking buddies.” While not anywhere as far gone as the drunkard whom he had just kicked, Ashkelon was not terribly sober either. He opened his mouth to respond, then closed it. Camilla did have a point. “What’s this?” Jeremiah said, releasing Camilla’s hand and bending down. “Jerry, if it’s another picture of a woman’s safehand I swear--,” Camilla let her sentence trail off. Ashkelon chuckled, remembering the last time something like this had happened. Jeremiah stood back up holding a tattered piece of a scarlet cloth. “You don’t see something this vivid around here much. Must have been somebody with--” He stopped, noticing that the cloth was leaving a red stain on his hand. “Oh, crem...” He looked back at the drunkard, but the man’s chest rose and fell as it had before, blissfully unaware of what Jeremiah had just found. He, at least, was not the source of this blood. Camilla pointed at a line of drops that led down the sidewalk a short distance before turning into an alley. Jeremiah followed them, but just before reaching the turn he suddenly turned aside, attempting not to vomit. Ashkelon didn’t need to smell it to realize what had happened. He just stood right where he was and swore loudly. Welcome to MR28! This is a hidden information Roshar game set in Kharbranth. The Everstorm has not yet come, but as Taravangian’s men collect Death Rattles an unknown individual or group has begun to kill off citizens seemingly at random. Here are this game’s ground rules: Ground rules: Rule clarifications: Murder suspects (player list): The game will start on Friday, March 16, at 3:00 MDT Quicklinks
  11. Good game elims! Although I found Drought out and suspected Ecth for the last few cycles, I was completely fooled by Joe and Devotary. I was freaking out "No! Don't mislynch Joe!" and suddenly he turns out elim, and I was happy that everyone was backing up my suspicions of Monster and suddenly he flipped village and the game was over, so it was a rough pair of cycles for me at the end.
  12. I'd love to play, but I'm up to GM next MR and I'm not going to have time to play this and do that, so I'm going to have to take a spec doc link.
  13. I'm sure some poor mod would rather sift through a bunch of ads in for manual review than have to delete all of the spambot posts and accounts after they've already posted. But maybe we don't even have to go that far: just block all threads with URLs in the title, and have a site rule against putting URLs in titles so that no real users do it.
  14. I'm not feeling the Shqueeves lynch. Few elims would be so blatant as to soothe a vote off of a comrade that's not in serious danger. I have a theory of why Coop wants to move the lynch away from Mac. Arin I'm tonereading as village, so I'm going to keep my vote on Mac to give Arin a chance, because I'd rather lynch Mac than Arin.
  15. @MonsterMetroid My activity tends to fluctuate based on the point we're at in the game. Last MR, I didn't even post first cycle IIRC and I stayed active but not massively so for the couple of cycles after. It was when things got desperate that I kicked it up a notch, and I only started cranking out analysis after we finally got an elim. That's typical for me; that's what my analysis style does best. Right now we've got too many players and no dead elims for my analysis to work well, so I'm just trying my best to keep up and get accurate gut reads (not my strong suit).
  16. Shqueeves' general apathy toward the voting might be because he's an elim, or it might be because he's a villager with no strong suspicions and so he just wants to get a vote down every cycle to not die. I think I'd rather lynch Mac over Shqueeves. While I'm not as suspicious of Mac as I was before, just because he used an RNG doesn't mean he's not evil, and he was instrumental in getting Rand lynched C1. This is more just getting a vote down than a full-out accusation, but in case something happens and I go inactive later in the cycle I want my vote on Mac for now. Votes (Please Copy and Paste this when you make a vote!): Shqueeves (2): Drought, RippleGylf Devotary (1): Lopen Mac (1): Len
  17. I suspect that the elims are purposefully not putting kills in in order to attempt to make us paranoid and mitigate the chance of one of them being scanned or roleblocked. With this few roles the chance that they have a vanilla is high, so it wouldn't just be due to every elim being busy; there must be a reason why they're holding their kill back. I'm with the theory that Shqueeves is the Captain. An elim Captain would probably have tried to tie the lynch to look like they were attempting to save Straw, and I agree with Lopen that the way Shqueeves was playing it cool last cycle is indicative of him knowing he had an extra vote.
  18. I'll clarify. I started off suspicious of Mac because I thought "Mac claims to use RNG, but what if he's just an elim looking to put a vote on Rand? We can't prove that he actually used an RNG." Now that he's given reasoning for why he wanted to use an RNG, that supports the case that he actually used one, so that drops my suspicion of him down a notch.
  19. @Alvron I nominate myself for the "wait, what account was that?" award. Not only did I manage to post as myself in this thread, I accidentally posted as Ostrich in a non-anonymous thread.
  20. Fear not, gents, if there's anything that I don't struggle with it's getting votes down. (I'm known for moving my vote around and general aggressive play). I don't want to vote on Mac because he's supplied reasoning for his vote. I don't want to vote on Shqueeves because his seemed like an apathy vote more than anything. I think I've detected a change in Straw's playstyle this cycle. He's been a lot more aggressive, challenging views on him when he usually stays silent.
  21. I was under the impression it was just action failure, but if you get a different answer make sure to announce it. Arinian set off my elim radar at first this cycle, but now he's starting to sound more like his usual self. And for Mac, he's got a good path of reasoning to use RNG, so I'm thinking he's not the best lynch. Mac[=color]
  22. Holy crap, Rae, I can't believe you faked that so well, plus called out Crocodile to boot. I'm going to be more scared of you from now on. @Droughtbringer Looks like you got me back for that IRL game of Werewolf.
  23. @MonsterMetroid @MacThorstenson We actually have had a game similar to this already: QF22. Everyone was paired with another player, and one of them posted and voted during the day while the other posted and voted during the night. Pairs were anonymous, but when a player died their partner died as well.
