Hey, at least it’s better than the Wheel of Time covers! We got lucky with our illustrators.

Wow! That's a crazy Bendalloy speculation! My thought has always been that a bendalloy savant can flare it even more powerfully, kind of like how a tin savant can see even more. That would be really weird though if it actually affected the bubble!

Shadows of Self: BYU midnight signing
Farnsworth replied to Lightning's topic in Events and Signings
Wait... we know that's the end of the series? The 10 book or the 5 book arc? -
Issue with Warbreaker Rights and Downloads Page
Farnsworth replied to Pyro Monkeys's topic in Tech Support
The links just take you to a spot in the page. For example, https://brandonsanderson.com/books/warbreaker/warbreaker/warbreaker-rights-and-downloads/#rights takes you down the page to where it says "rights". You can just scroll down. -
arcanum unboud spoilers Would Sand Mastery work on other worlds?
Farnsworth replied to WalksIntoMordor's topic in White Sand
There’s lichen growing on the outside of my house, and I’m not entirely sure that either a Highstorm or an Everstorm could kill it! You’re right though, the storms do rule out a lot of possibilities for plants from other planets growing on Roshar. -

I feel like Koloss bones would be quite heavy! They are awefully thick headed.

Did anybody only get era 2 coins? I’m really curious, what came in your letter?

I definitely had some real problems with WOT, but they were more about the characters than the world building. Many people, myself included, think that Sanderson probably got some of his workdbuilding inspiration from Jordan.
-
This is many people’s opinion about the book, and while I see where they are coming from, I did enjoy the series.

If you are new to long books, maybe you should start with a shorter book than Eye of the World. Warbreaker maybe? Also it’s much better than Wheel of Time IMO.
-
It doesn’t really matter. I read them in publication order and it all made sense.

Huh! Maybe he is! Although wouldn’t he admit to being Nazhriloff? Also, have a cookie! Dark Alley (found in guilds page) disclaimer applies.

I know this one Hebrew Hanukkah song, Banu Hoshech, and totally fits so even if only two people on the Shard understand it I’m doing it. Go away Thunderclast from Roshar! In our hands are Shards and swords! All of us can swear small Oaths! United, we can fight Desolations!

[OB][Warbreaker] Vasher, Vivenna, Nightblood, and Szeth
Farnsworth replied to Rainier's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think Nightblood will notice Vasher and try to hide from him. From what I’ve seen, Vasher and Nightblood got along mostly, but weren’t in complete agreement about things like vengeance. Szeth in the other hand respects Nightblood and calls him “Nimi”. I think Nightblood would rather stay Szeth’s weapon, especially because Szeth is about to do some serious killing in Shinovar.- 31 replies

You Know You're a Sanderfan When...
Farnsworth replied to Shardbearer's topic in General Brandon Discussion
This is a college essay I wrote for Stanford (didn't get in ) Dear future roommate, I love science, but sometimes I get bored with the laws of the universe. As amazing as our world is, I occasionally feel the itch to explore a universe where the normal rules do not hold, where F does not always equal MA. Whenever this happens, I study the universe of the Cosmere. The Cosmere is a universe with slightly different laws than our own that exists in several book series written by the author Brandon Sanderson. I have become rather obsessed with these books over the past few years (in a good way). I love these books because their magic systems are so well defined that they are almost mathematical. Many readers, including myself, delve into this magic system and treat it like science. Harmonium, a metal with properties essential to the plot, can be best understood through molecular chemistry. The magic of a certain sand is caused by the unique properties of a specific type of algae that grows on it. Every law of magic is understandable and quantifiable. I would love to introduce you to the Cosmere. I think you would find it intriguing and fun, as I do. But if your interests lie elsewhere, I am sure we can find other mutual interests to discuss and enjoy. I hope to have a fantastic year with you, full of interesting and unusual experiences, and I can’t wait to discover what makes you excited about the world! -
Maybe "Oathshards" are live sprenblades? Shards that require you to fulfill an oath to continue possessing them?

State of the Sanderson 2017 Review
Farnsworth commented on WeiryWriter's article in Brandon and Book News
Sanderson: Hmm, should I make Dark One a cosmere book on a new shardworld involving a new shard, filled with interesting new lore bombs about Adonalsium, or should I just make it a YA book in it's own world? -

[OB] Does anyone else like Jasnah?
Farnsworth replied to The Night Watcher's topic in Stormlight Archive
I thought she was going to get a book in the later 5! -
VERY impressed by your coin manipulation skills, Metalic One!

Okay, thanks! Where could I find the other version? TWoK prime?

Now that Susebron can talk, it’s probably easier to make swords like that.
