  1. My dad told me a story about a girl named Veve every night until I was around 13ish. Figbert, a big brown bird like creature that could teleport, and split up into several smaller Berts, or many tiney Rts. He was my favorite character, so my first username was Figbert. Then my brother joined as Figberts, and to avoid confusion, I changed to Farnsworth, another character.
  2. I noticed something on the leather bound Mistborn books. It doesn’t seem to be on any of the others. On the last page, with Brandon’s bio, it says “Nazrilof” right next to his picture. Is he trying to say that he is Nazh? That Nazh took his picture? Has anybody asked him about this?
  3. Don't ever turn off your tin! Tin is the way. Tin is life.
  4. I like Adolin as a character, but I'm not that interested in what happens to him because I am more interested in the magic of the planet and greater Cosmere than I am in any individual character. Kaladin is the leader of the Windrunners. Shallan is figuring out what is going on with the Ghostbloods, and the first Lightweaver to come up. Dalinar is Bondsmith, can create Perpendicularities, and bonded with the Stormfather. Renarin is part Voidbinder. Most characters are extremely relevant to the greater plot as a whole. Adolin just doesn't seem to be. He's a nice guy, an interesting character, but doesn't seem relevant to the Cosmere as a whole.
  5. I loved Khriss’s analyzing of the sand, and the comment that overmastery was the key to improvement. More magic development in this one, which was nice. Also, I was under the impression that the art style change was to indicate a change in the narrative. You think it was just because the old artist left?
  6. I was wondering, how can I get my hands on the Stormlight Archive Virtual Reality? Do you need an Oculus Rift or can you just use Google Cardboard or something cheaper? Also, has anybody used it? What's it like? Thanks
  7. I think that what he was trying to say was alomancy in general, since the question was aluminum compared to Ferchemal gold. Do you think he was trying to say aluminum specifically? I could understand why burning metal would protect you, kind of like how it's hard to Push invested metal. Although I guess since aluminum purifies things, it might make sense that it purifies a person from Shades. I still think he was talking about alomancy in general.
  8. That is the definition of a good friend!
  9. Definitely Roshar. I know some of you have said that you don't like the hard rules very much, but as a programmer/physicist, I love those sorts of magic laws! I especially like voidbinding, even though we know so little about it. It has the feel of something that will be even more complex than surgebinding, but we know so little about it that it gives off the same mystery vibe as the Old Magic.
  10. If you like Science Fiction, which is almost as good, you might like Asimov. He's the Sanderson of the SF world. Not only are his books among the best ever written, but he wrote over 400 in his lifetime.
  11. When I'm stuck in an irritating half-hour discussion elective, and then the discussion for the day is "do you reread books or rewatch shows?" and you try to remember if you are on your 8th or 9th reread of OB.
  12. Hurt Raoden, heal Dalinar Conflux - 10 Firefight- 2 David - 10 Mizzy - 10 Elend - 10 God King - 10 Gavilar - 10 Dalinar - 11 Elhokar - 10 Sebarial - 10 Raoden - 9
  13. Shadows For Silence
  14. I figured he had forgotten by now, my hope was that he'd just accidently write it somehow. I guess he had to be reminded! How mortal of him!
  15. How did you get the Vin assassin card? I've been looking all over for that!
  16. Farnsworth

    White

I wonder though, would an especially weak Awakener leave the object a darker gray than others?
  17. Starving is the best. Kelek is also pretty good, but I like starving because Lift.
  18. Best case scenario: He wrote Stormlight 4 by accident Worst case scenario: decided to try his hand at YA vampire romance.
  19. I see! Thanks. I keep worrying that it got lost in the mail, but I probably shouldn't. Sanderson puts a ton of time into his answers, so it probably takes a while before they get shipped out.
  20. I ordered a personalized copy two days after it was released and it still hasn’t come. Should I be worried?
  21. Beautiful! Same face, completely different people. OB Spoilers
  22. My theory is fairly simple, (so you should have very few problems tearing it down ). Basically, here is the issue. The Radiants did not all have light blue eyes. Only the Windrunners did, because their Gemstone was sapphire. Since Kaladin's eyes turn blue when he Surgebinds, it stands to reason that Radiants of other orders will have their eyes turn the color of there order. So Why does dead Shardplate, from any order, turn it's wearer's eyes blue? The only instance of this that we've actually seen is with Moash, and while it's possible that his armor was Windrunner armor, it seems unlikely that every single darkeyes to take hold of dead plate happened to obtain Windrunner armor (this is assuming that there is some truth in the legends). So, my suggestion is this: the only reason Moash's eyes slowly began to turn blue is because that is what he though would happen. We know that dead Shardplate is somewhat Invested, since it is "charged" by gemstones. So, Moash, or anybody wearing dead Shardplate, would have some investiture to utilize. Everybody at the moment thinks of Shardbearers as lighteyes, and so Moash is slowly using that investiture to turn himself into one. As would anybody else in dead plate. Ideas?
  23. Yeah, it was explicit, but c’mon. If it gets one more person into the Cosmere it’s worth it.
