  1. Unclear. Known Slivers are pre-Vessel-Vin, Rashek, Kelsier, Stormfather. The being needs to hold at least enough of the Shard's power to Ascend at least partially (Such as Rashek and Vin in the Well). If neither of them absorbed the entire Well of Odium, then it is unlikely they are Slivers. But the known data is inconclusive because we do not kow how much of Odium's Well either tapped.
  2. I think he was specifically talking about people alive during the end of HoA, since that comes from the Annotations to HoA (and all of the other Mistborn are dead by the time Elend's allowed to enter Fadrex and figures out the Mists were snapping people).
  3. Ghostbloods is the overall name for the Era 3 Trilogy (at this point, names may change any time until publication). Kelsier is expected to be a large component of Era 3 (but not necessarily a main character). WoBs (Edited for length and relevance) Hope that helps.
  4. Well, as Brandon said about SP4, WoB (edited heavily to relevant section): He had to write that one part of TSM in such a way as to not spoiler the "why" for SA5. It's probably a bit disingenuous that Nomad lied in this scene (though Aux called him out on it), but it's not unreasonable to think that after who-knows-how-long his recollections of the event have become muddled with self-doubt and self-criticism ("Could I have done something different to save her?", "Was that really an altruistic event, or were there other subconcious reasons?", etc.). The section on "hardest truth" implies that, after the fact, he realized something within himself that cast doubt on his actions in the scene we saw in WaT. That said: I know Brandon said he meant for SP4 to be read before SA5, but I now (personally) recommend to friends that TSM be read after SA5 - becuase I felt that knowing Sig broke his bond in WaT really soured all of his scenes for me in WaT. I would rather not have known that before reading SA5.
  5. ^This^ was pretty much stated explicitely. Taravangian could not find the dawnshaed unless he knew to look for it (and even then it might be obscured) or if it was revealed by vaporizing the Vessel. WaT Ch 146: Hope that helps
  6. I'm not sure how you can say this. If you thought this book was just as good as the other 4 books, good for you, that's your opinion. But everyone comes to there own conclusions, their own opinions on the story being told, and when people don't like the story then that's their opinion and they are entitled to it. So to say their reasons for disliking the book are easily dismissed is a bit much. Would you like if someone said your reasons for something were easily dismissed ? I don't know if it matter at all, but I read "easily dismissed" to mean "this opinion is unlikely to apply to me and my reading" rather than "this opinion does not matter." When it doubt, please consider verifying the intended meaning rather than assuming malicious intent. Also Hanlon's Razor and Poe's Law may apply (in their various forms).
  7. Silver does not have any Allomantic Properties. WoB: Silver does interact with other investiture in various ways. Hope that helps.
  8. The only sentence in TSM with both "walk" and "oath" in it is this section (TSM Ch 49): Hope that helps.
  9. I think it is more that, when sheathed and locked, Nightblood's Command expresses as searching to Bond in service of his Command. When the lock is undone, the fragment of power allowed to express itself from the exposed section of blade is enough to turn all parts of Nightblood into a weapon (and Nightblood's Identity includes his scabbard). So, not so much "overwhelmed" - in that the Sheath is still blocking the majority of Nightblood's power. However, the unblocked part is still enough to fulfill his Command when the bonded person does in-fact view themselves as Evil (by the definition of the Command and the Bond).
  10. There are a lot of oft-cited quotes, so I will avoid those knowing somebody will post them, but another favorite comes from one of Sanderson's novellas: Picking ourselves up from defeat or dissappointment is at least as important as being successful.
  11. Where would you see it being overwhelmed? I'm not sure what you are referencing since you quoted the whole post. (Please see the Sharder FAQ for different methods of quoting - partial posts, whole posts, multiple posts)
  12. I don't know what you might be referencing. I searched the Sunlit Man forum and Cosmere Discussion (after the spoiler period, the Spoiler Zone "Cosmere section" merges with the latter and the non-Cosmere section merges with it's normal series - WaT threads will move to Stormlight Archive, Solo books like TSM become their own section) and did not find any threads from TSM's spoiler periods where anybody noticed an implication for Bridge Four or Radiants being corrupted. The closest I can find is on the Malwish ship when Nomad hears implications of the Scadrial vs Roshar war-at-large (which, because the source is Malwish paints Roshar as the bad guys). Is that possibly what you recalled?
  13. I'm guessing you mean Korean Drama? If so, I have not watched much Korean TV since the 90s, but I still love many Korean Films - English Titles: JSA, Shiri, 3 Iron, etc.
  14. Another thought I had - even if Elend had some residual potential, as sub-misting (unable to be snapped) that potential would only have been in one metal. So, post-bead if he had greater than normal potential then - like Vin's Earring giving her better-than-normal Bronze - that potential would only have been in that one metal (misting potential + Mistborn-by-bead) until he burned Mists. If this is the case, then I would guess it was either Soothing or Rioting by the way he controls Koloss.
  15. People in the South are referenced a few times, but without specifics.
  16. I think this is YMMV - I know a few people that having the SoScadrians spoiled before BoM really did hurt their experience for that story.
  17. This. is the Best. Sanderson. Quote. in the Whole. Cosmere. Have you read the Deleted Scene?
  18. Unlikely in my mind. Original bead recipients were Scadrians without enough potential to be Snapped by the Mists Elend was a Scadrian without enough potential to be Snapped as a child. Seems like both started relatively the same, since all Scadrians have some Preservation (and therefore Allomantic potential). Annotations to HoA Ch 49 YMMV
  19. That has been theorized (especially since it is shown as a "pair")
  20. There are a number of threads discussing this, and not all of them have been figured out/confirmed. However, we know or suspect at least most of them. WoR Ch 43: Broken down: Likely Rosharan shells, but also possibly Sandling shells from Taldain (megafauna are not Roshar exclusive) Ditto above Ditto 1 White Sand From Taldain Likely (unconfirmed) Hemalurgic Spikes Iriali Hair Possibly a Tamu Kek (or maybe just a Fain Branch) both are from Yolen and the non-canon Dragonsteel Prime Threnody Knife Likely Tears of Edgli from Nalthis, but also possibly Marewill Flowers from Scadrial (no mention of the number of petals, the former has 5 and the latter only 3) Roseite Aether Called Amberite in the non-canon Aether of Night, but also from Tress (as spores) and The Lost Metal (Prasanva) Hope that helps
  21. Most already recommended RoW before TLM, even though RoW also reveals Thaidakar's identity (even if a more circumlocutious way). I would say that reading Stormlight Archive Arc 1 before Mistborn Era 2 is still viable - and if Felt's utterance in WaT Interlude 1 seems like a problem for them (many may even not make the connection, or believe it is not the same Kelsier - if they have not read AoL they may even think that naming people after the Survivor is a "thing" in future Mistborn stories) you get to just RAFO them and (if you feel generous) tell them that answers will be found in M:SH (which should still wait until after BoM due to SoScad Spoilers) and TLM. Actually, from my friend's experience, the larger danger is reading TLM before Stormlight. For the people I know who have gone through this, they have all encountered the Ghostbloods in WoR without believing they could be "bad guys" because they already knew who Thaidakar was. That seems the more egregious spoiler, to me.
  22. Welcome to the Shard. Your Intro Post does not say what you have or have not read (whichever list is shorter), so please let us know so that spoilers can be avoided (as necessary). Please see the Sharder FAQ if you need help editing that post or would like other helpful forums tips and information. Part of this answer is how you prefer to learn or process information (most of these references also have more information and tips in the Sharder FAQ). Some examples: Use the Coppermind to read Articles on specific areas of interest (since the Coppermind will reference relevant Words of Brandon (WoB) and other sources) Be sure to turn on the Time Machine if you need to set the article dates to a point before a book you have not read (such as before TLM or WaT) Use the Arcanum to read Words of Brandon, since you can use Tags to read all WoBs with a specific Tag (and fall down the rabbit-hole of linking from one set of tags to another) This is how I started down learning as much as possible a number of years ago - back when WoR was new and I realised Zahel = Vasher. I read every #Vasher tagged WoB, which led to all #Nightblood tags, which led to . . . you get the point. Use the Github (Discussed in this thread) and/or Roshar Interactive Map (Visual Learners) They take some practice, but can be a great tool for putting things together. There are a lot of features and filters to turn off and on Just read here in the forums. The Search for the forums is very robust. So if you want , for example, to explore what others have said about Bond Theory you can do something like: Search for Nahel Luhel Bond, set the "use all terms" and limit the search to Cosmere Q&A and Cosmere Discussion (knowing which forum will have which kind of threads is necessary to really make this work - see below) and read through some of the threads that are found. And, if none of those are appealing, just dive in and participate in threads that interest you, or start a new thread (hopefully in the correct forum). Forum Topics: Fortunately each forum, on the main page, has a description telling you what kind of threads can be found inside (and where you should post certain types of threads) Examples: Hope that helps
  23. This thread shows that some people received mis-assembled books. I wonder if they had to return a bunch to the distributor for errors like this, and that may be causing fulfillment delays.
  24. Threnody does have at least one perpendicularity - just difficult to use. AU Essay:
  25. I'm curious about on which data you base this comment? AFAIK, most people who have been on the 17th Shard for a while have expected Renarin's orientation at least since WoR (if you search, you'll find threads from 2014 discussing this, though the theories were more frequent and discussed 2015+). It was all-but-confirmed by RoW. WoB (see footnote):
