  1. ^This^ With no information other than "see the back, column 5" - it seems like a in-world version of using goldflake in baking (except there is no atium, and they don't really even know what it looks like, so they can fake it if they can convince customers to pay).
  2. Certainly, it was alluded to in TLM when Wayne (Spoilers): Hope that helps
  3. I so wanted in WoR for Kaladin to give Elhokar a version of the Bernard speech from Codex Alera: WoR Ch 80 / Princeps' Fury Ch 13 (paraphrased):
  4. I don't think so, though I can understand why you think it might. To me, Retribution giving SprenThorn battle information (and it's unlikely that it could be done the way Dalinar did in the vision - otherwise Honor would have done that instead of Visions in the first place) would be like a tween watching 100 hours of martial arts on YouTube and thinking that means he "knows kung fu." A memory of practice and war could never, in my mind, be close to equal to actual thousands of years of actual fighting, muscle memory, and learning from mistakes the hard way. Is your idea possible? Unfortunately, yes. Would it make sense or be a fulfilling story. No, not to me. Sorry.
  5. Exactly, only one-who-subtracts or a Stone Shaman should walk on stone and use Stormlight. In the east everybody walks on stone and uses stormlight, but they are not Stone Shamans - so it is a profane use of light to his understanding of the Shin religion. Of course, much of it is info Brandon couldn't give too much detail that early, it would be confusing - so it's just tidbits of foreshadowing (and only as Szeth thinks about it or understands it - his perception of the Shin religion was shown to possibly be lacking because Un-Ishi had been hijacking and twisting it for a few hundred years.
  6. Neither Blackthorn, nor SprenThorn stand a chance against Taln. WoB: Doesn't mean it would be a great (but very short) scene.
  7. Probably this Was it missing? I thought it was heavily implied that Blue and Magenta were pulled into the Physical Realm for power and Yellow was being used elsewhere/in-a-dfferent-way (Komashi Shadesmar is my guess). SR should have all three, regardless. Not to mention that WaT is possibly from before Virtuosity splintered herself. WoB: Hope that helps
  8. He had to use the supression fabrial just to have a chance against Sigzil and Leyten, and neither of them were top Bridge Four fighters. I think Moash loses to most Radiants in a straight fight and I doubt he would be nearly as good against Shardbearers (such as Unoathed) as Szeth was - because Szeth was not only a lifetime-trained warrior, but specifically trained in the surges much longer than Moash (who had no training in surges because he left before becoming a squire - he's barely self-trained from having Lashings used on him for training during WoR).
  9. That heavily depends on your definition of "fighter" - but regardless of how it is defined, I doubt Moash rates that highly. Maybe at the end of WoR, but all of Bridge four has now had years more training with kaladin while Moash was too busy pretending to not feel sorry for himself.
  10. Way of Kings Prime and Dragonsteel Prime both have free epub downloads. I don't know if you have any interest in Calibre (PC, Mac, Linux, Portable) or not, but one of the advantages of the freeware is that you can make one change, then apply it to every iteration of the formatting issue thoughout the text (or go step-by-step and verify each change is desired, or skip it if it doesn't apply). If you decide to try Calibre, I can share the CSS I used for each of those epubs if you want it.
  11. But the Luhel bond is not shown to require Snapping in either Tress or White Sand. Tress also shows a Bond with Verdant, so Luhel Bonds can be formed with more than just Midnight Spores. Tress Ch 46: it only shows that the metallic structure is not the only bounding form. Unkeyed Dor, as raw investiture, can be used for whatever your sDNA allows you to use. It's less about what is ont in the nature of the metal as proving Intent/Command, and more about how Unkeyed Dor, specifically is versitile. Interesting theory. I can see how you can derive this conclusion.
  12. Which version are you reading? My ePub has (WaT Ch 34): Those are the only instances of "mortar" or "pestle" I can find in the book.
  13. I think Nitpicking was saying walk from the Physical Realm into Shadesmar, just by moving through the correct room/hall/door. This is unlikely unless Sibling were to somehow manifest their own perpendicularity.
  14. Confirmed in the WoB above this post
  15. Nightblood (the book, as sequel to Warbreaker) is one of the larger teasers, but the biggest Sanderson Teaser to date is not Cosmere:
  16. Curiosity Spoilers:
  17. The Aetherbond is neither - it uses a Primal Aether Bud (similar to AoN):
  18. Then I am not following what you are trying to say. My understanding: When an Aon is drawn, the shape of the Aon (and modifiers) allows the Dor to create an effect as it moves into the Physical Realm from the Cognitive A Misting is able to "burn" a metal based on their sDNA The Molecular structure of the burning Metal forms a pattern (like the Aon) and that pattern is the key allowing the investiture released to create an Effect as it moves into the Physical Realm from the Spiritual Realm A Luhel bond draws physical matter from the person (water, so far) to allow the bonded person to control something (aether/investiture) already present in the physical realm to create an effect in the physical realm. The bond was even described as the Bond of Physical Transition (with Nahel Bond described as the Bond of Realmic Transition). I theorize on the Third Bond here.
  19. Good thought! Definitely possible since we have no identifying characteristics other than "flower." Patji's Finger descrition was also sparce (SotD):
  20. Absolutely relative to Taln's 4000+ years.
  21. Except that Allomancy has been defined as the metallic structure being a gate (like an Aon) to allow the power of Preservation to enter the Allomancer - with the metal (shape of the gate) determining the effect. WoB
  22. The Sharder FAQ has an entire section on using the Arcanum to search for WoBs. The weight of the Oathpact was put on "the heralds that returned to Braize" - which, until Chana's death, was only Taln. WoB: Any herald on Braize that bends their oath to allow a Return will start a desolation. For 4000+ years it was Taln and he did not break. Chana did. Quickly.
  23. Most do die (and that is shown graphically in the omnibus, and explained in the story) and it is a huge risk. It was implied, but not explained that there were some mitigating measures taken before the events of the story to attempt this in a more controlled environment. I'm not sure a Pewterarm would be able to Master Sand (unlike Aethers, it cannot be done by just anyone - likely because it is an MoI of Autonomy and not an Aether - they just share Luhel Bond mechanics). If, somehow, a Sand master were to have access to Pewter (Hemalurgy, perhaps), then I can see that possibly helping their body deal with the effects of dehydration, or maybe help them survive a dehydration experience. However, since we do not know exactly how Overmastery works, I think (my personal guess) that it would also prevent the possible postive side effects as much as it prevents the negative side effects. If Overmastery comes from surviving over-straining yoru body and bond, and you prevent that strain through Pewter - then you have also prevented the Overmastery and any possible benefits it may confer.
  24. Unlikely. We have the Pimp My Aether thread to help people do those things for themselves (and many of us have fixed and edited versions of the story in ePub that we made for ourselves) but the limited share license the 17th Shard employs to have permission to distribute the story limits that distribution specifically to the file offered by Brandon to the 17th Shard for this purpose. Mods can clarify if I got any of that incorrect.
