  1. If things never start to get really bad, then they can never truly get good again. Its the same idea in Lord of the Rings when Frodo claims the ring and all is lost, and so when we get this incredible ending it just hits even harder
  2. eh, i thought it was a really good book
  3. eh, I still think Tolkien is the goat. Sando is great though.
  4. S Tier: Way of Kings, Words of Radiance, Elantris, Tress, Warbreaker, The Emperors Soul A Tier: Wind And Truth, Rhythm of War, Oathbringer, Mistborn Era 1, Sunlit Man, Shadows for Silence, Sixth of the Dusk, Mistborn Era 2 (excluding lost metal), Secret History. B Tier: Lost Metal, Yumi and the Nightmare Painter Brandon never gets below a B for me lol
  5. Yes, but God and Odium are not on the same powerlevel
  6. Harry Potter is good. I enjoyed it. LOTR, tho, was the highlight of my childhood. It is wonderful.
  7. Aragorn in a windrunner. Any arguments? No? Good.
  8. THERES SOMEONE ELSE OUT THERE WHO LOVES FINROD???? LETS GO. but seriously - the way he sacrifices for Beren, goes out with a bang, and is just all around awesome... I'm there for the Felagund. Lol.
  9. I liked the book. And to be honest, i think that Dalinar's move really was a masterstroke. For one, Brandon needed to resolve Dalinar's character arc. Check, in a really cool way. For two, Dalinar set in motion both a trap for Taravangian- and also he got things in order for Honor to turn on its holder at just the right moment. I can't wait to see what happens.
  10. I just recently read The Mythmakers, a graphic novel about the lives and friendship between C. S. Lewis and J. R. R. Tolkien, and absolutely adored it. Highly recommend. It's by an author named John Hendrix.
  11. From Dragonsteel Prime, we know that he has had this specific regrowth capability from his dawnshard for ages and has used it before. So it doesn't exactly make sense that that would have been what he was looking for.
  12. "Yeah i flung the earth, a trinket at my wrist, I said to the dawn, that I don't need none of this. Kept the sky above me with its infinite profundity, believed these shoulderblades would sing as wings..." -High Enough, by the Gray Havens
  13. Some of yall are a bit harsh on Brandon, i feel like. With everything that he had to tidy up and sanderlanche, i think he did a crazy good job. I really enjoyed the book overall. I'd rank it below Way of Kings and Words of Radiance, but i don't think we should have ever expected it to be better. It's so much easier to write a compelling story when the stakes are so much lower.
