  1. Do you know about Hoid?
  2. If it's a metal working with Hemalurgy, it works within all Three Metallic Arts. The simple fact that Hemalurgy can be used to steal anything isn't of significance when we're talking about Shards Investing on Scadrial. If they did it enough to be used in Hemalurgy, they did it enough to be stored in or burned.
  3. Or maybe I can go deeper into Dor to use something like assembler without the need to use all these shapes and forms?
  4. "Well, of course this is a friendly game, that's why I haven't won in the first move" laughs Oversleep, downs another vial and makes his move. He misses, but seems to not be bothered by that. He burns out the rest of the steel by opening the window at the end of the room. "Let's let in some fresh air." OOC: I just realized that talking swords... Nightblood... are simply from Bleach!
  5. Elantrian... AonDor is very versatile and it works basically like functional programming. Hm... Can I use AonDor to write another language virtual machine? COLOURS, THE POSSIBILITIES! Anyway, an Elantrian and now something which would work well with that. Zinc Compounder would be broken, you'd always have time to think what to draw and affecting emotions is always useful. Steel Compunder to write in an instant, and Steel Compounding is broken on its own, not even mentioning the Coinshot part. I'd choose probably Allomantic bendalloy and Zinc Feruchemy for quick drawing and always having time to think really, really fast.
  6. Wait, Preservation and Ruin created Scadrial? I thought that Shardworlds were alreacty created before Shattering.
  7. I'd like to point out that you probably won't be able to find any allomantically/feruchemically usable metals in our world and definitely won't be able to make them on your own. I am not talking about only alloys - try finding pure gold, for example. In fact, there are no pure metals anywhere. And if there are, they'd be very hard to find. Of course, proper alloys would be even harder to find. So I'd choose Feruchemical bendalloy - you go to the market and eat everything which rots quickly and stock on everything else. People would stock on everything which lasts long, you can eat the rest, there will be plenty of it. Drink everything (BTW, how does F-bendalloy work with alcohol?). For quick movement I'd pick Feruchemical steel (obvious) or cadmium - you can run longer. For steel, I don't need such excessive usage like speedsters (as there is power loss). A shallow tap would be enough to outrun everyone, as even going at 1.2 your usual speed makes you faster than anyone. As old saying goes, "the slowest ones during zombie apocalypse are eaten" or something along this lines. Superspeed for dire situations like ambushes or being held at gunpoint. For cadmium, you can also hide underwater for long amounts of time and storing is quite easy. It'd be useful for running, it wouldn't tax on your breathing and no lactic acid in your muscles - pretty useful, I'd say. So it leaves an Allomantic ability to pick - there are 8 to choose from (pure metals). Nor chromium or alluminium is useful, gold is probably very hard to come by and obtain in pure form. But I didn't choose being a Bloodmaker, so allomantic gold is useless. Copper and cadmium are also useless. That leaves us with three Allomantic metals: iron, tin, zinc. Iron would be usefull for navigating around the city and ironsight is pretty useful. Tin gives obvious advantages. Zinc would be useful for interactions with another survivors, you probably could also Riot zombies' fear. Zinc is pretty hard to obtain, iron and tin are easier to come by. But tin burns way slower. And tin was used to produce vessels back in Middle Ages, so I'd probably raid a museum.
  8. Breathing in dust, even if you're going to burn it, is a very bad idea. That is, if you can manage to avoid coughing.
  9. I don't analyse every detail in the book. Sometimes things just "click" in my head.
  10. You tell them what to do and usually get a good enough result, but sometimes they behave erratically and you end up irritiated. Wisdom teeth working their way out are like early mornings after you slept less than one hour.
  11. It seems I wrongly assumed it is, based on the fact that Yomen used it along with aluminium when he had Vin in captivity.
  12. Well, silver is Allomantically inert. So I'd say it's similar to aluminum.
  13. Did somebody call me? I felt a disturbance in the Theory.
  14. Well, Kaladin was at first flying in the chasms (below "ground" level) and then took to the skies (above "ground level"). So they probably spotted him on lower altitudes. Gravitybinders doesn't necessarily fly as high as airplanes - airplanes go very high, that's true, but a man is about what, 30 times smaller than a plane? One doesn't need to go that high to remain unspotted. And of course there is the obvious: how many times people look in the sky and see a passing plane (given that they can actually spot it, I am not sure if high altitude planes are noticeable at all)? Remember that in our world planes make noise and then we look up to search for the source of the sound, but Gravitybinders make no sound, less than a bird would make - they just fall, they don't flatter wings or something. P.S. The height is probably not an issue given that a Windrunner who knew what he was doing could potentially reach space. Windrunner, since Adhesion is needed to keep a pocket of air around your body to not freeze to death.
  15. About people noticing Nin flying: I'm sure you have seen at least one airplane. Remember how small it was? Then please recall how huge airplane is compared to a man. As for people noticing moving light (unlikely as it is): that's what starspren basically are - moving lights in the sky.
  16. The chart is wrong. Naruto is finished as of now... But I'd recommend watching only the first series, but if you watch it, the hook would be to strong not to watch Shippuuden, and that's fine. Shippuuden is good up to, let's say, maybe 214. At no point bother watching the fillers. Just don't. About Death Note anime vs. manga... Anime has awesome music. Really awesome. BTW, if you want PG-13 rating or lower, Death Note tackles on some moral ambiguity stuff... and at some point poeple start rioting for the mass murderer (I did, for example). For strictly PG-13 try Avatar:The Last Airbender and then Avatar: Legend of Korra. Both are awesome, but I watched ATLA when I was 17 and sometimes it felt immature; but on the other hand, character growth is strong with this one and at the end it was 100% awesome. Naruto is also PG-13 friendly... sort of. Bleach had plot for about two arcs, then I read it only because of inertion and for the good art and fights. After these two arcs, plot is nonexistant almost up to two final arcs. So be warned. I'd recommend also Psyren, it's finished and it was good, but the ending was average because Psyren was canceled. I'd also recommend Ao No Exorcist, but it has few chapters and they're released monthly. You should probably try Shaman King, both anime and manga (they start similar, but differ very much later on)
  17. "Absolutely". Oversleep carefully positions himself and then in a strong flare of steel Pushes on the cueball. Balls scatter, but none fall in the pocket.
  18. The two remaining eras will be contemporary like 1940s or 1980s and futuristic one with spaceships etc. (I totally riot for Scadrial cyberpunk! IMAGINE THE POSSIBILITIES!)
  19. Retelling of a classic joke, but funny nonetheless. Well... I don't know how to tell you... But Vindication was named after Vin. Just like hazekiller bullets. Why does Dawnshot prefer electric lights to candles? Because he's afraid he'd melt.
  20. I call refillable implants in the Fourth Era. And definitely metalmind implants for Ferrings.
  21. Hoid himself wouldn't kill, but if he thought it necessary he would have accepted deaths as a result of his actions. He would regret that it was necessary, but he would have done it (as he told Dalinar).
  22. The way I see it, Autonomy is fine with meddling, but the extent to which Sazed is interfering with events is too much. Autonomy doesn't mind Shards offering help to the people as long as they have choice, but Harmony became something of a Godlike Chessmaster.
  23. I don't think that Renarin had an epilepsy attacks while Seeing. Hm. We know that there are three different magic systems on Roshar and Ars Arcanum autor speculates that the fabrials aren't the third one (I think they're just an offshot of Surgebinding). Maybe Renarin bonded a spren of the Third System?
  24. I imagine Sazed trying writing on metal and making a complete mess when he tried to correct something or cross out and ended up with something totally unreadeable XD Do we know if Hoid is a full Feruchemist, a Ferring, or his Feruchemy is broader than the Scadrial variety (like, maybe he can store in silver?)?
