  1. The focus doesn't necessarily have to do with the shape of the Cognitive Realm. Scadrial has the focus of metal, but it's Cognitive Realm is smoky and misty. I'm sure that Scadrial has the most obvious focus, though. Perhaps the focus is water. Water is used in sand mastery, and possibly has something to do with Skycolors and definitely the grundlefish (bioluminescent fish that need a daily change of water to survive). It's probably been changed, but water was probably the focus his mind was going in. As for light the magics are probably all powered by some form of starlight.
  2. You are in good hands.
  3. If 50 were the number, it would be much more important than those minor details. For example, how many different Aons are there? Types of symbols for Dakhor?
  4. I'd totally put the teleportation Aon on doorknobs. Try to open the door, poof, your in the bathroom.
  5. I'm pretty sure that you can't just put a lot of Investiture in one place and make it a Shardpool. I don't know all the specifics, but I think a semipermanent physical location is necessary. By semipermanent, I mean unable to be moved unless you are a Shard or a being of comparable power.
  6. I'm fine with that, except for time. In a WoB, Sanderson says that connection has to do with people, places, and time. I don't know where this WoB is, but it does say that time is a form of Connection. I admit, it is certainly more wibbly-wobbly than other types. However, exploiting this form of Connection is likely how Allomantic gold functions. You can see what could have happened.
  7. If Odium attacked, Harmony would have more Preservation-type powers, since he needs to sustain the balance.
  8. Since the Radiants are excellent defensively (They protect and defend), and will never give up, as well as being able to survive a storming Highstorm (That sounded exactly as good in my head), they would win.
  9. I support the Wayne and Lopen Negotiation Team. If you can get them have a conversation where you understand what's going on, you are either insanely lucky or insane. Or both, I suppose.
  10. Them using perpendicularities actually helps explain their longevity. They likely don't age in the Cognitive Realm. Or if they do, they do it very slowly.
  11. A Hundred Fools, a hundred revolutions of the moon as a year... Maybe Trell likes 100? Autonomy can't have 100 as a number, since it's 1-16
  12. That seems the most likely option.
  13. I have. Hello!

    Skycolors

From what I can tell, Skycolors don't come from the eyes. If anything, they might make an aurora borealis type effect around themselves.
  15. Since this part of Aether in particular was taken and modified so much, I'd say that Decay is proto-Ruin.
  16. Anyone have the scene where Hoid kinda appears?
  17. What about masTRELL?
  18. The essence of Sand Mastery is that you need to take care of number one. Want to get stronger? You have to almost die and be powerless for three days (that was the timespan, right?) I do think I know why Autonomy/Sand Lord doesn't like sand masters. They're using his power, which makes them dependent on him, which he, by Intent, doesn't like.

    Skycolors

So...they have very interesting bioluminescence? Maybe the people have some sort of fungus that produces light?
  20. In a thread I cannot link right now (Called Connection in the Spiritual Realm), I attempt to identify different forms of Connection (to people, locations, Shards, and to time). Would you consider altering the Connection definition accordingly? My theory hasn't been confirmed (although it does take evidence from a WoB and Mistborn: Secret History), and I'm not sure what benefits are recieved from having Connection to a Shard, but I believe the theory is sound.
  21. But, except for that and likely a few other scenarios, lashing yourself into the local star is pointless, even detrimental. Using tin to stop and smell the roses. Using pewter to cure lead poisoning. Burning gold and being envious of your other possibilities. Using a duralumin-tin combo at a concert. Using Abrasion on an ice rink.
  22. 1. It's in a WoB. If a gemstone was perfectly—down to the molecular level—cut, it would not leak Stormlight. 2. Exactly. 3. The focus for the planets is not in any way related to how Investiture is used, it is only the medium by which it flows. Nalthis has the focus of color, as suggested by the Tears of Edgli being named for Endowment's Vessel.
  23. Maybe a Trell is the mysterious Survival Shard. It kinda makes sense. Trell is more or less attacking Scadrial, which is the home of Harmony, which is, by power alone, the most dangerous being to any one Shard.
  24. I want the Survival Shard to be Endurance.
  25. I think it's symmetry, or waveforms, or something like that. The Listeners are in perfect sync when singing. Gemstones work better when symmetrically cut. You can usually tell the focus of Shardworld by any form of writing that's not just written words, and what the names are based on. In Elantris, the other form of writing is using Aons, like in the Elantrian library Raoden found. Their names are clearly based around the Aons. In Warbreaker, the artisans script is used for writing poetry. I'm not sure how the Returned are named (perhaps Lightsong's drunk monkey?) In SA, the names are based on being almost symmetrical, true symmetry being deemed almost heresy. They have a form of poetry called the ketek. This is completely symmetrical and must make sense. They have glyphs that are completely symmetrical and, when a ketek is written in glyphs, is completely symmetrical. I'm not convinced, however, that it is purely symmetry, since Roshar's landmass is taken from a certain stage of a Julia Set, which, if I'm understanding it correctly, is a form of fractal. Either way, Sanderson drops hints about that stuff, so it makes sense for him to continue the Pattern in his largest endeavor since he proposed the idea of the Cosmere. In fact, this is probably harder, since it's so long and he needs the story to stretch over 5-10 books (I'm not sure how he plans on having the whole two 5-book series thing).
