How the Immortality through Breath works ?
-
Probably in the beginning Listener bonded with Spren that now they can't (probably some unique Spren like the Rider of the Storm) This Spren choose to bond with human and the Listener saw this as a betreyal. Then some other Sentient Spren came and they begin to worship them... in the end this turn them with bonding in Voidform. After the last Desolation they manage to remove all the voidspren for their kin....but Gavilar wanted to "call their gods" and this scared the Listener a lot and they decided to kill him.

I don't think be Invested alone would grant immortality (of course I talked about less Investiture than the one required to Ascend). Or every compounder will be Immortal or every Misting through Savantism.... and Rashek didn't need his Immortality trick then
-
Anyway probably ask how the Breath's passive abilities work is a wonderful question to ask. The Breath became part of Soul... therefore have a lot of Breath is equal to a great Soul's expansion. It's possible this may be oddly thing to your Spirit Web's Connections that in the end gift you with an infinite lifespan... but we need to go deeper.

To be honest the Breath Immortality is a Mystery to me for the reason I explained before. About be an Elantrian there are two possible explaination: - As Elantrian something change in the Spiritual and your Soul allow you to be immortal (you are not an Human anymore and the Soul isn't bonded to Human Standard) - The Dor provides the Investiture (like an Atium compound) to stay alive... with the time you develop something like Savantism and the amount of Dor your body recive became more and more... at the same time the Dor needed to stay alive grow. In advanced states the Dor became painful to yourself because overcome a safe amout... and this is why Elantrian's live is stressful (as brandon said). I can't be sure about ... but I think the second (the Dor Savant effect) is more probably. Like someone said there is methods to became Immortal but this methods often have more to do with changing Connection to Birthtime than healing the body
-
In the end he would die by old age... the body became always less efficient to reproduce its cells... after X amount of time the body would not be able to produce functional cell. Of course this is the reason in the real world... in the Cosmere instead your Soul "knows" how you are old and it will force your physical to align with your age... you will expend tons of Healing just to avoid the cell to become inefficient and this will progressive growing (at the point that TLR can't simply tap tons of Healing to stay alive) In the end with endless Healing you will probably live longer than average.... 150 maybe 200 but in the end you will die.
-
I think we don't have a Wob about... I read it as "once you avoided the Beyond you can't simply decide to go ... Beyond" but it's unclear if I have right
-
Maybe with a Lot of Spikes... but in the end a Single Stoled Connection says really little about the "donor/victim"

Yeah the only information we have about the reason of the Shattering come a third hand source and may be really wrong about. We know that at least a couple of Vessels was ok as people, and this made me think about why they decided to kill God.... Probably it was more a matter of "we have to do it" than "we want do it".... Maybe Adonalsium's priority wasn't the same of the Yolish or maybe they are tricked to kill him/her/it In the end we (or at lest I) don't know what was the Cosmere's Status Quo before the Shattering... it's possible that they need a great amount of Investiture to do something and with Adonalsium this was impossible.... we have a lot of possibilities. PS: when I talked about the great amount of Investiture I meant: Adonalsium is the source of all the Cosmere's Investiture and if He "sended"/spread Investiture in the whole Cosmere in the same way a Shard sends/spread Investiture in his Shardworld... Also with 16 times a Shard's Investiture, the Cosmere was really a lower Investiture place than now on Major Shardworld.
-
If Liar destroys this possibility ( I didn't open the Spoiler) it will become just a nice Curiosity about the Name ;-)
-
Do You mean like "Hoid was the name of Adonalisum's Vessel or some other title for him" ?

They definitively exist in the Cognitive Realm not the Spiritual. And remember, everything has a Cognitive and Spiritual Aspects (well quite everything) and without some willing effort a Cognitive Shadow (the Shades are a subset of Cognitive Shadows) can't move through things.

Ok I understood what you meant and I am unsure about specific part of the answer you want but you have wrong in some things (and I think it's better to make it clear): Spirit Aspect, Soul and Spirit Web are the same thing and is only Spiritual. A Cognitive Aspect is how you "see" yourself and how the other see you. A Soul is a web of Connection to place, time and object made by raw Investiture. And like you said of course "Connection is a Spiritual thing". Hemalurgy works only as "Spiritual Genetic Enginering". It removes/adds portions of Spirit Web from someone....There is no Cognitive Aspect changes for the Hemalurgy itself....maybe just as side effect. The Soul Forgery (or just Forgery) works editing the Connection to someone/something SpiritWeb... it's a low Investiture Magic System and this creates problem because the Soul may "notice" that something is wrong and overcome the Forgery. In the end also Hemalurgy is a low Investiture Magic System but the Hemalurgy didn't create problems with the Soul because didn't change the past... From the Soul's PoV a New part of Spirit Web implanted with Hemalurgy isn't different from a new Connection that may be creates in a Human's SpiritWeb from life's experience.... The Forgery instead changes something the Soul know... and if the change is too relevant, the Soul push to the normal state.

If I don't remember wrong burning a Spike will do oddly thing to your Spirit Web... something like twisting your and the Spike SpiritWebs together

1) He will die...The Divine Breath is a Splinter of Endowment who manage to keep alive a dead body (probably using the weekly Investiture to resist the call of the Beyond)... without that, you have only a deadman with tons of Breath and after a couple of seconds, just a deadman. 2) As ras as we know only specific and very limited pieces... just look at what the metals we know may steal. 3) No idea at all, but probably if both have the same ability it would balance themself 4) I don't understand well the question, we saw the Essence Mark, something that rebuild your whole self... I think it's a good "cognitive change".... Can you explain better the part about Hemalurgy ? 5) The first was asked and Recive a RAFO, the second to me is harder to performe.

Possible but we don't know who was Hoid's master...the first Hoid... until that it's really difficoult to say anything :S

It's not only Strength and direction. Like saw on Scadrial, a Skilled Seekker may understand what He is "hearing" (what metal and probably who are the burner). It's probably because of a Pattern in the Vibrations he hears... After all signal is not only strenght or direction, but may contain Information (we based on this fact the whole world telecomunication). At the beginning a novice Seeker can't determinate what he hears, with experience and after seeks a lot of time "Pewter vibration" Ha may recognize it... And a very skilled Seeker probably memorized all the common patter of vibrations.

New Information On AonDor Intitiation.
Yata replied to Blightsong's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
It may be relevant to notice this: the "man of the potions" (I don't remember the name, "Forton" maybe ?) uses a specific sub Magic System of Selish Magic System and He is a "false believer" of Derethi Religion... It may be a clue about the necessity of a cognitive identity different to the Derethi's one to use his Potion sub Magic System. -
When I wrote this theory some books didn't exist yet. Now there is a great problem to this theory. Spoiler from Mistborn Secret History: The same problem come with my previous main idea... the time isn't right for Ruin to be the cause of The Evil.

If I remember right, there is a WoB about TLR that Knowed the Cosmere but He didn't care of events out of Scadrial.

Probably in its Homeland, People may manage Nightblood better (= without die in an istant) after all Nalthis people have a Breath (or more) and this extra Investiture made them capable of holding Nightblood longer without die. The have also less "soul" with them and also if they became Drab they may survive with that Soul alone quite at 100%... The rest of Cosmere's Human will probably die when their "soul" begin to be consumed and only a few may survive to the Spiritual wound as Drab. PS: On Nalthis is also common to find people with more than a single Breath (for example the Priest)... They may use Nightblood longer (for example the priest who held Nightblood and end with his arm gray would probably survive some time thanks to his extra Breath)

Can the bands be considered the actual Bands of Mourning? (BoM spoilers)
Yata replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
Yes a Full Feruchemist may do it. But probably you switched metal.... A trueself can't use the Rashek's Band (if they existed in the first place) because He lacks of Nicrosil Feruchemy (if Rashek didn't used the "trick" used in Medallion's tech) not Atium. -
As far as we know all the Heralds may be foreigns on Roshar (well if we may call someone "foreign" in a planet where all the human's life may be imported)
-
The case of Shallan's brother may be a "special case"... After all an Unmade play with Roshar people and their "dark impulses"

I asked White Sand the last year and I recived a Word document too.
