  1. The fungus growed on Elantris because the city glows and the fungus fed of the light. It's the reason of the dirt during the Reod. The Fungus without Elantris's glow died.
  2. Maybe they may have some other ability... But in the end I think they may be only Heavy Invested Shardblade with simply more raw power. We saw as Szeth made Shardplate breaks in less hit then any other ShardBlade using the Honorblade. He manage also to "break" a living Shardblade (but Syl reforme just some second later) something quite unseen on Roshar. They may be part of the Oathpact but I don't think this give them extra powers
  3. I always saw the Heightenings as a "small scale" Soul's expansion much more than improving sense I think it may be more like tiny glipse of Spiritual feeling about what your senses see/hear/smell/taste .... Like a few psychometrics. Of course this may be really wrong.
  4. I am a bit curious. Do You not like the air-ship idea at all or the tech behind who made it possible ?
  5. Like Androl said. Wax was dead in biological sense, but it took some time for your Connection to the physical realm to be cut off. He manages to tap a lot of Healing when He is still connected to the Physical realm, or He never has the chance to tap Healing from his corpse. At the moment I can't remember (sorry but I am very tired) if your Connection to the physical last longer if you are a magic user, or it's a separate parameter and your Investiture is meaningful only to the time you have before to go Beyond.
  6. I suspect the Hemalurgy's chart is wrong. In the basic metals we saw some kind of pattern... the pure metals steal Human Attributes and the Alloys steal Magic Abilities. This pattern changes for the enhancement metals where Alluminium and Duralluminium both steal Magic abilities. I think the Author made a Mistake trying to complete che table with the metal knowed at that time (and I don't think we never see an Inquisitor Spiked with Spiritual Feruchemy). If every Ars Arcanum's information is about Author's knowledge during the book timeframe, we may see how the Ars Arcanum of W&W's era don't talk about Hemalurgy... My idea is the Hemalurgy isn't there because now the Author know much more about Hemalurgy and if He writes about Hemalurgy, He have to put an fixed Hemalurgy's table.
  7. Sorry I forgot to write this part when I explained the reason Kelsier can't return through Pits or Well. We know the Pits are useless as perpendicularity from Kel's action in TFE and it took centuries to be usefull again, I think the same thing happen to the well when someone use it's power but here we have no written proofs. The Problem with the Kel using the Well was about his Spike (or Spikes). We saw how badly Preservation's power in the Well reacts badly to someone with Hemalurgy and Kel can't probably remove his Spike or he doesn't need it at all.
  8. It's possible but we know a little of how Shardpools works. Maybe it took a long time for a Harmony's Shardpool to spawn and we don't know even if something like an Harmony's Shardpool would never exist or we have again two different Shardpool (one for preservation and one of ruin). Remember, Kel show up on South (in the physical realm) little time after Harmony's born. Maybe it's too early for a perpendicularity's formation.Just see how much time the Pits and the Well take to going operative. I don't say it's impossible... but in honestly I think It's like a cheat explain the Kel's return using something we don't know at all. Also my explaination is probably pretentious but we know from WoB there is a worldhop method through Metallic Arts.
  9. I read just some days ago the Elantris Annotation. In these Mister Sanderson said that the first people who come in the area "discovered" Aons in a long time and from there they began to understand the possibility of their own power... this arrive to its masterpiece in the building of Elantris with the magic knowledge developed therefore the answer is hard try and error of many people for many years EDIT: I will copy here the Annotation for a quick reference: There is another lines in some other page that say in few words "With the developed knowledge of the Aon, they discovered how to amplifier the power and build Elantris.

    Renarin

Nice... In my head I imagine Renarin with the standard Blue of his House and at first Sight I didn't recognize him.... But really a great Art ;-)
  11. Nice theory, but I find more likely another theory about the Sun on the Cognitive. Some people thinks it's the Spiritual Realm visible from the Cognitive. For example we know that the Spiritual realm is Space indipendent and therefore we see it the same in every point of the Cosmere (in Cognitive Realm). There are other things that gives credit to this idea but I don't know if you read other books therefore I will put it under spoiler. Mistborn Secret History Spoiler:
  12. There is another problem also in my idea...it's the reason I avoided to make a post explain my view on the Survivor's return. As Cognitive Shadow you can't use magic for human (for example Allomancy or Feruchemy)... Kelsier as a ghost can't use his Mistborn's abilities. This may mean that He can't gain F-Gold (if he could He don't need a Spike, a Medallion is good also). But maybe restoring his Connection to the physical made him a regular human struck in the Cognitive and in this case He don't need to heal anything. Everything is alright....ehm no... How Did Kelsier manage to return in the Physical ? He can't use the Perpendicularities on Scadrial. The Pits are gone for some centuries and the Well also, but also if the Well works I find hard to him pass there with an Hemalurgic Spike. As you see there are multiple problems, the only way that come to my mind (but I has no proofs) is: - Kel manage to restore his Connection to the physical through Hemalurgy (maybe Cadmius or Chromium may stole Connection, but to remove the probem.. he used an Atium Spike because at the end of TFE they have not the tech) - Once Connected, Kel became a regular Human in the Cognitive, like any other worldhopper and he may use again Magic - He can't use the Perpendicularities on Scadrial because they are gone and instead He manage to use the Worldhop ability hidden in the Metallic Arts and unknown to us (He need to know how Worldhop with the Arts because it's the only way He may obtain the Connection Spike... Someone made it on the physical and give to him in the Cognitive). This to me it's the more likely method but this method uses at least una unknown factor to us (the unknown way to Worldhop with Metallic Arts) and may be really wrong.
  13. If I don't remember wrong someone asked to Brandon if Stormlight's glow, the Misty effect of an Allomancer in certain circustance and Elantrian's glow are all based on the same phenomenom (Investiture leaking) and he answered that Elantrian's glow is more phosphorescent in nature and less "energy leak"... I don't know if this may help you
  14. Did Ars Arcanum's author make some mistake with the Hero of Age's one ?
  15. The First one (about Healing power) is impossible. Once your connection to the physical realm are cutted, healing is meaningless. It's a so drastic event to influence also the ability to wield a Shard. I am unsure also about the second, after all Hemalurgy steals a chunk of Soul, not the whole one and if you Spike Kel's Shadow and someone merge his SDNA with a part of Kel's one. You will probably don't have a new Kel... and what attribute did you "steal" from Kel to "resurrect" him ? Personally I think Kel spiked himself with Cadmium/Chromium Spike with Connection (I am unsure of the specific metal), to restore his link to the Physical Realm.... Maybe He needed more than the single spike we saw....Once tied to the physical realm he may probably use whatever Healing he want to rebuld his body.
  16. Probably the benefit of dual-wielding Shardblades are really limitated. In whatever case you VS a not Shardbearer... the Second Blade is an useless upgrade. and aganist a full shardbearer He probably manage to use his single Blade with more efficience (or everybody on Roshar would use a dual-sword swordstyle). Probably aganist a Shardbearer without Plate a dual Shardblades would be useful to exploit some blind spot and vin... but in the end it's a little gain for invest a treasure as a Shardblade. Of course before I talked only of Duel. In the warfare instead, have two people with a Shardblade on the battlefield, overcome every benefit of a Dual ShardBlades
  17. Yeah sure, but Rayse isn't an idiot... He will wait the right moment. And about the powers... Galactus is really powerful but I think many people understimate what a Shard can do... remember that someone with a little fraction of Shard's power may move planets quite easy.
  18. Harmony would trick in "unmaking" Scadrial just before Galactus may eat it (yeah God's joke) and maybe re-create the whole planet after Really I think a Shard may be equals than Marvel's Cosmic Entity therefore a planet with at least a Shard may be off-limit to Galactus. But probably Odium will try to kill Galactus for his own supremacy plan
  19. No, it's Connection Identity is a Cognitive Attribute while became a magic user is a matter of Spiritual Aspect and Connections is the Spiritual Attribute that allow this. I will use an example but it's about Mistborn therefore I will put it under spoiler:
  20. Hoid tried and failed to become Elantrian...End we know he uses Connection to attune himself to Shardworlds
  21. In the Gauntlet's first story arc... with a dumb reason, He de-powered himself for enjoy the battles better (removing every preconition or extra sense)... and an ally of his, simply walk behind him and took off the Gauntlet from Thanos' hand.
  22. I think I may answer with 100% of accuracy only to the 3rd one. 3) Nothing prevent you from have a Spike full embedded in the flesh, if this is possible without the holder know it... depend from where the Spike is... Probably it may be painfull or "strange" have a piece of metal inside. Marsh tells that the Spikes are painful but we can't if it's just painful to have metal in the body or for some Hemalurgy's interaction. 4) Here we have some contracditory WoB but as far as we know you may create some "not nice" effect twisting your Spirit web with the Spike's one. About the first and second question, I think that for both of them the answer is no. The Magic Systems and Hemalurgy in this specific case are how the power of creation manifests itself in the physical realm. You need metal to create a Spike and also if you take a Spike in the Cognive. you probably can't interact a lot with physical beings... and you can't Spike them.
  23. Syl may was a Spren of some Windrunner died without breaking the Oaths. In this case, the Human dies, the bond ends without breaking the Spren's Mind and the Spren returns to the Cognitive Realm or remains on the Physical but without self awaress (because the Spren lose the Bond's benefits)
  24. Part of the Nightwatcher-Cultivation relationship comes from Lift's Spren. He calls Nightwatcher "Mother" in the same way Syl calls Stormfather well "father". This made many think that the Nightwatcher is relate to Cultivation like the Stormfather is relate to Honor. And both of them have some kinds Spren's species under them... Probably the sorted by the amount of H&C's Investiture in them. I don't think this is true... but it's what is widely believed.
  25. Yes, Sorry I began to call them in that way to avoid the whole names (and because I am a Dungeons & Dragons player XD)
