Kaladin's inability to heal his slave scars
Yata replied to WindCaller's topic in Stormlight Archive
About your idea of Identity... To be honest I have to figure what the Identity is yet. A possibility (that I used for a lot of time) is about Identity as a "screenshoot of SpiritWeb" but this interpretation have to be wrong because "have a strong or weak" identity has no sense. In the end is still a work in progress -
Kaladin's inability to heal his slave scars
Yata replied to WindCaller's topic in Stormlight Archive
Sorry for the double post but I found the Quotes.... I will put it under spoiler because there are some Mistborn's Spoiler and I added some bold part for the usefull information to this topic. -
I am still about the second one (the result of the Splintering)... After all we know that Roshar would be in some similar situation after Honor's Death if so much Investiture didn't became Splinters to "release the surplus of power in the Cognitive". I may began to think that Splinter a Shard may be "pull the Shard down from the Spiritual and let the Realmatic pressure (without a better term) break it".... Like take a solid object and put it with force in a container not big enough.

Kaladin's inability to heal his slave scars
Yata replied to WindCaller's topic in Stormlight Archive
But so far as we know Identity doesn't change with your living experience or some magic systems will notice somethng like that (for example Breath's ownage or Metalminds) My previous post was inspired by a long explaination Mister Sanderson made about how Spiritual Aspect influences the Cognitive and Physical...Now I have not time to search it but if you want to search yourself -
Kaladin's inability to heal his slave scars
Yata replied to WindCaller's topic in Stormlight Archive
Probably not. The Cosmere's Healing works with your own Cognitive Aspect, but you can't change drasticaly your Cognitive Aspect because it's influenced by your Spiritual Aspect (A perfect version of yourself). Your Spirit self will try to return to his rightfull states... you will need a ton of Investiture to "trasform" and other tons to "keep the trasformation" (if it's possible at all) -
Of course I can't be sure but I think is the Initial Metalborn who provide Intent. Maybe the creator may provide the Intent to a machine.... but I think that the machine have to be always after that... you can't have a turn off/turn on at will... or someone have to put again Intent. Maybe in some way the Scadrial may discover a way to turn some MIst in Splinter but I am unsure about the factibility

Like Young Bard said it's probably connected to human's biological function (also if in the Cosmere probably it's better say Realmatic Function).... We know the Dor is in the Cognitive Realm, and in the sleep something may chage in humans. PS:Have We WoB or sources about Dreams and Realmatic ?

[Theory] Ancient Scadrial's Religion and Endowment VS Autonomy
Yata replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
you have absolutely right... I made my knowledge of the Cosmere change the in-world sources It's still possible some kind of twisting of the truth behind the Shards... but it's really less probably -
To be honest I always thinked that an Elantrian's life become stressfull in the long time for the continuos stream of Dor they recive. If the Elantrians recive an effect like the Savantism with the Dor that keep increase over the time. It's may be dangerous or not pleasant over some threesold and live with constant pain may be cause of stress and Mental problem... Of course I can't be sure of that.
-
Well yes.. indeed the only "automatic tool" saw until now... uses splinter like its core and to me are they to provide some Intent.

[Theory] Ancient Scadrial's Religion and Endowment VS Autonomy
Yata replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
There are some "connection" between Trell and Autonomy (I talk about the ancient Trell, we can't know if the modern Trell is the same of Trelagism)... but in the end I thinked that some old conflct between two enemy Shards (Endowment and Autonomy) inspired the ancient Trelagism. We have a WoB that says that in the Cosmere there isn't any kind of "god" don't relate in some way to Shard or Splinter of Shard. -
The Spirit Aspect and Spirit Web are the same thing and also an object has it. The problem to me is the Intent... every Magic System in Cosmere needs a Cognitive will (or Intent) to performe its magic and a automatic tool can't performe that.

They may notice the "Color's change" but don't if the Biochroma don't change. But you have right... we have no proofs about VenDell and his Breaths.... As far as we know, He may just be a really clean fanatic and change often his own clothes (or any other excuse). But that Kandra has some "Magic oddies" on him and I find quite suspicious everything he does ;-)

He is a Kandra, He may change his skin color to mimic the change... about the coat's color an untrained eye (someone who don't know of Breath and Biochromatic aura) may misread the "stronger" color for another color... Remember that on Nalthis everyone have a Breath, know things about that and their sense/color recognition are improved by the Breath. On Scadrial the people are quite shortsighted if compared with Nalthis people. SA Spoiler:

@maxal: This may mean that Szeth didn't bond yet with Nightblood, Nightblood bonds with you if devoures some of your Investiture and you survive. Of course Szeth can't breath in Stormlight yet, but with some extra Investiture provided by Nale (a couple of Breath maybe, holding for a few time an Honorblade or through the Regrow Fabrial) Szeth may survive the experience quite easly. After that we have to understand if the Nightblood's Bond gives on Roshar the ability to breath (or use in another way) Stormlight, sometime ago I made a theory about how the Bonds are powered on Roshar (it's in my signature) but of course I have not sure proofs.
-
I am unsure, why did we throw away the "BioChromatic Aura change" for Coat's color? It a more elegant solution than creating new rules to Awakening... When we wil find some contro to this solution, we may speculate otherwise.

theory Hoid Caused the Shaod/Reod
Yata replied to VirtuousTraveller's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Like Blightsong said we know for sure that a Perpendicularity at least connects Pysical and Cognitive Realms. The WoB probably suggests a Perpendicularity pierce all three realms... Also if I think worldhopp in the Spiritual is something beyond the abilities of many Cosmere Aware people. -
[Theory] Ancient Scadrial's Religion and Endowment VS Autonomy
Yata replied to Yata's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Many Shards may be see as far from Autonomy... Devotion, Dominion, Honor and Endowment are with some criteria "opposite" of Autonomy. But we know that many of them have already their Shardic problems (for example D&D died in the early Cosmere's History and Honor was fighting with Odium and after killed by Odium). -
I just read this WoB an idea come to my mind: We know that Trell and Nalt was quite enemies in this Ancient Scadrial's Religion BUT: Some clue seems to point Autonomy as Trell (not confirmed of course) and if Nalt is related to Nalthis we know what Shard lives there. Autonomy and Endowment are quite opposite (maybe not as Ruin and Preservation) but their Intents are the farest I can Imagine. It's possible that the two Shards and maybe some situations between them Inspired this religion. For example Autonomy/Trell has his own single eye (the Sun) a metaphor of Individuality, while Endowment/Nalt has his thousand of eyes (the stars) a metaphor of spreading. Any idea pro or contros to this Idea/theory ?

I think the cube needs just the activation and then it emulates the power... like "knowing"that it must use Steel allomancy instead of create a speed bubble

They have an infinite lifespan. But in some way being a Elantrian is really stressfull in the long time and many choose to stop their lifes. @Captain: I meant way to "obtain Immortality" through Magic Systems... Born Immortal is quite cheating XD ... Anyway if you puts the Dragons, you have to considerate also "be a Kandra"

theory Hoid Caused the Shaod/Reod
Yata replied to VirtuousTraveller's topic in Elantris and Emperor's Soul
Natc using another Perpendicularity "helps" during the Reod because probably Elantris's Shardpool was more dangerous than usual for the extra Dor concentrated in the city without any release Valve (AonDor Users and working Aon). The Blighsong's idea was about using the Dominion's Shardpool because is probably is "standard dangerous" for Selish's Standard. -
Can the bands be considered the actual Bands of Mourning? (BoM spoilers)
Yata replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
@safestPear if the Rashek's Band was true (and I don't think) also if keyed to him... every Alluminium's Ferring (or Full Feruchemist) may use it. -
I remember that someone asked a quote from the last trilogy as request for a personalized book. I have to search it
