  1. You're right, it does sound similar to the plot of Blake's Seven. Well the seven people stealing a space ship part does lol. I've never read it, but it sounds like a fun book. I'm still learning toward sci-fi in world playing the same part it does in our world, which is injecting the seed of innovation and invention.
  2. It could be. I didn't see it as having any real hidden meaning. Possibly doing what Jules Verne did for us with 20k Leagues. Just planting the idea of something new that others, in the future, will make a reality.
  3. Has it been suggested yet that Spook could be the leader of the Set? Just an idea that popped into my crazy brain. No basis for it.
  4. I thought that's how it went. I remember thinking "damnation, they just threw that old dude off that train! How far of a drop was that? There is now way he survived that." Then we see him hobbling around the crashed air ship. Do we know if he survived Bands?
  5. Sounds good I think. I'm trying to think of an analogy to keeping Investiture bottled up after ingesting metals, and not burning it causing the body to go through a type of Investiture shock. Because you're right, it doesn't make sense for R & P to make a planets "focus" poisoness to the life forms using it.
  6. I mean I don't think it's impossible some of them might not have been the best of men, but I don't think evil men would fight on the side of Honor. And I don't see Tanavast recruiting evil men to fight for him. But it is a cool idea I think.
  7. Didn't notice the K & N on my read, but it has been been pointed out by a few people so far. Good catch though. It would have taken me a while to see that without these forums.
  8. Yea, I think it's far more likely for Iyatil to use a material that is common on Roshar, so as not to draw attention(well, anymore than she already does). And Shallan would be the one I trust to remember something she has seen/drawn what's probably a good number of times by this point in her life.
  9. I have the very same problem. Yeah been sitting here trying to think of anything, and my mind just keeps trying to find different uses for those metal spheres. Too bad you can't make objects you store mass into heavier, because then one of those little spheres could become a terrifying baby wreckingball. Oh wait... What if Wax can make one of those balls from copying the designs of the cubes? If it could work, baby wreckingball are a reality! Let me know if I'm mistaken about how we think those cubes work. Don't know if he could push on them after storing weight.
  10. It's a good guess I think. Maybe Perseverance. Its something like survival.
  11. I think there was too much time between Hoid acting as his coachman(for probably not very long) and beggar Hoid at the mansion for Wax to grow suspicious. And far too much on his plate to register a name he probably hadn't heard in months, and for only what was most likely a short time as a rather unimportant job as coachman. I'm sure Wax didn't personally hire him. And I'm guessing he probably lightweaved a disguise, like others above have said.
  12. I'll give it a go. 1. Pretty sure it was either Marasi or MeLaan. Possibly not MeLaan. 2.It's believed to be Kelsier, but I haven't read Secret Histories yet. There are plenty of threads on it though. They can go in depth if you'd like. 3. That would be the Sovereign. He came south and found them freezing to death from the Catacendre. Taught them basically everything they know about it I think. 4. That would also be the Sovereign I believe. The Lord Rulers Bands I think we're said to be given to the Kandra or sold off during the second 2 books of the first trilogy. Could be wrong though. 5. Well, the coin was given to Wax by Hoid. I assume Hoid wanted Wax to see that memory, and any other memories that may be stored in the coin.
  13. I never thought of that option. Don't know how likely it is, but I like it.
  14. Yeah, I agree. Or maybe it was the balance of preservation & ruin or something like that. One culture has a real chance of death, while the other is altered and preserved in an Eden of sorts. I guess thats harmonious. Or maybe Saz sent Sovereign, like he sent Wax to stop the Set? Idk.
  15. All I need is mystery. At least for Hoid. Discovering Hoid was a character that traveled between worlds entranced me for some reason I still don't know why lol. Now, if his toon doesn't flesh out(which I don't see as likely) then that would really suck. But I can still remember the moment I was reading Warbreaker, saw Hoid make sand look pretty, I was like "Wait, was that the same guy from Mistborn??" And then I read Elantris and Emperors Soul. Then I read WoK, and I didn't stand a chance. Hoid became probably my favorite of characters in any book I've read. My excitement and fanboyness for Hoid is dependant on the hope that the mystery will be adequately solved, and that I couldn't guess what that ending would be. Because what's the point if it isn't I say.I get where you come from. You need character development. Which is what I need from every other toon as well lol. But Hoid's definitely the exception for me. For now, at least.
  16. I just read a list of death rattles. Somewhere in there is one about a woman who claimed to have suffered from visions for 2 years prior to her death. I'll try to find it. Of course I just read through every one again and now I cant find it.
  17. Callin in an air strike. That's awesome. Someone needs to draw that up.
  18. Jamaicans? Lol. Is that really how you pictured them? Wow you actually made me laugh with that one.Yeah though, with the Ettmetal. Im forced to agree. It's my only guess, unless B-Rand throws us another awesome curveball.
  19. Don't blame the poor cover art. They had no control over what those pesky artists made them into.
  20. I would say it depends on how much they had to adapt originally in that thousand year span of TFE. I'm guessing they just run hotter because their body temps had to adapt to not fry their brains during TFE. I might be mistaken, but I'm pretty sure bodies that run hotter don't feel the cold less, they feel it more intensely. Especially if their bodies stopped storing normal amounts of fat to shed heat faster. Just look at what happened to Allik on the mountain. He basically becomes hypothermic almost immediately. While Steris is fine by comparison. I'm still confused as to how they survived the original planet shifting that Rashek did, especially with no biological alterations. I'm not certain of any of this either lol. I think if the change from Sazed wasn't so sudden, they would have mostly been fine. But idk. Just spitballin.
  21. I was gonna say Lifts wasn't mental, but I guess she was placed a bit more into the Cognitive Realm as either her boon/bane. Not exactly a mental effect, but technically it is I guess.
  22. I don't think anything went wrong. I think after TLR death, and the Catacendre, Sazed changes those in the Basin back to "normal". Pretty sure it was said TLR made no biological changes to the SoScads, so over generations(and I'm sure plenty of deaths) they acclimated. I'm going with Scadrials axis and rotation around the sun as being why it was a bit easier for them to acclimate without bio alteration and ash mounts(not at all certain though). After Saz " fixed" things, he sent the Sovereign down to lend a hand(that's a guess as well, but why would Saz just let them die?). And because of said hand lending, the adaptation that was almost certain to happen, didn't(almost certain because they really could have all died. It was definitely a possibility). Plus, if I dropped you into what you would call a frozen wasteland, I doubt extra clothing is going to save you for long. And changing habits on the fly, after what seems to be a world ending event, probably not the easiest thing to do. Or to convince a whole culture of people to do. But, I think they could have done it if not for those meddling gods.
  23. I'm still stuck on Bleeder telling Wax at the party that free will is nothing but an illusion. Why would she say that being a servant of Autonomy? Unless she meant free will under Harmony is an illusion... Ok, I think I just convinced myself she might have actually been serving good ol' Bav.
  24. I knew it. Thought that might come out in later books, but its definitely good to know. And yeah, the strength change(assuming you mean why doesnt the body get crushed from tapping stored mass) most likely comes from something to do with Identity.
  25. Yeah, I thought I had missed something when people started referring to it as an actual red haze. I read it as Sazeds representation as the force that was trying to besiege Scadrial. I think Brandon even said the color red is a Cosmeric representation of strife and conflict or something like that.
