  1. You really do have to read them. I stumbled upon them, and Mat Cauthon became ones of my absolute favorite characters in any series Ive ever read. Ive never read a series that has so successfully made me hate some characters (Nynaeve, Elaine and Egwene to be blunt about it) to making me absolutely love andm. Just start em. You wont regret it. If you can, start with New Spring. If not its ok lol, you dont need to. But to the topic at hand, really any and all art given to us in Book 3 will make me excited. Would be cool to see Urithiru, or the oathgates like they said above. Or hell, even just a sketch of Bridge 4 around their evening fire eating stew would get me salivating.
  2. Idk. I can see him wearing it. I dont really see any reason for him to not wear it. Just like he uses Syl as his shardspear/blade even though he has refused to use one in the past, he would see the advantages it would offer him in battle. Cant exactly remember the reasons he gave for declining Adolins offer of Plate, but seeing as his Plate would be wholly his own, comprised of(as the theory goes) windspren(and possibly other spren as well), then he should have no problem wearing it. I mean, its not like it will effect his stormlight or lashings like it did Szeth. But it would be interesting if he did decide to not wear it for some reason.
  3. How do you know all of this?! Lol. Not saying you're wrong. I just didnt know he was laughed off as a foppish kid. My only argument about him not being as much of an outcast before we see hin in the books is that its said that he has had relationships with almost all of the eligible girls in the camps. Probably with a lot before the camps as well. And the one we saw seemed pretty into him before he tried to court her sister lol. And just because we see Jakamav and the others spurn him in the books,it doesnt mean they werent actually friends before hand. The Alethi seem to be the type of people who think its important what the other elites think of them, so I think them casting him out after Dalinar starts getting all up into the Codes and acting holier than thou would be exactly what they would do so they could keep up appearances. Plus, he wasnt allowed to duel for what, over a year. Before that he seemed to be pretty well ingrained in the Alethi elite society. I guess I just dont see him as much of an outcast before Dalinars enforcing of the codes onto him, and then the others in WoR. But I very well could be wrong. I mean, I do kinda consider you the go to source on everything Adolin lol.
  4. I rarely picture the characters as RL actors. I usually just take the features described and just think for a little while and try to form it in my mind. Kind of like clay I guess. And its hard for me to picture anything thats not like a 3D drawing. I do take some features of RL people sometimes. Like Kal in my mind always has Jared Padaleckis hair lol. Adolin is like a pretty boy frat dude to me lol. No offense Max, I know he's your dude, just how I see him.
  5. Didnt even have to give dudes name. As soon as you said A Knights Tale I knew who you were talking about lol. He plays great bad guys. Oh, and the idea of Adolin feeling like he's going crazy is a good one too. Makes sense.
  6. From the Coppermind. I definitely agree that others received the visions, though this is the only other reference to them that I know of. Edit: Format The exact quote I thought of too. So, yeah, there were for sure other people who received visions. How far back, no idea.
  7. Well chullballs! Lol I hadnt even put that together! As many times as Ive read that section of when Dalinar was being looked over, with the physician(?) commenting on his scars, I never once made the connection that he may have been using tiny bits of stormlight unconsciously. I always just thought that, ya know, he was able to do it because he's the Blackthorn.
  8. Yeah, I have to agree with Argel on this one. Even a small sized black hole placed anywhere near a planet, or solar system, would have severe effects. Even if its placed outside the solar system, over time it would alter the course of the planets orbits. Ever so slightly drawing them further from their stable orbits around the parent star. Yes, eventually they may find a stable orbit again. Or they may have their orbits altered enough that its catastrophic for the planet(s). And Im not saying they will be drawn to the black hole until they're destroyed, but it will be a tug of war between the two masses. But maybe Feruchemy can accomplish it. I wonder if a Feruchemist storing mass in orbit around Scadrial could, in a very minute way, draw the planet off its orbit. Like a little gravitation tug by a smaller object they theorize would, over time, draw an asteroid off course. Good post though Yafeshan.
  9. Mine is Cultivation. Almost simply because shes still a mystery, but not such a mystery that we know nothing about her, like the rumored survival shard. And shes one of the shards in my favorite Cosmere series. I guess you could say shes a mystery thats within in reach. Next is Bav. Hes just beyond Cultivation on my mystery spectrum. But I really wanna know how Cultivation survived while Honor didnt.
  10. Yes yes thats all well and good. But what about the drunk spren, or intoxication spren, or whatever they're called?!? Lol, but for real, thats awesome that is cleared up. I always wondered about tht too.
  11. Thats actually how I felt when I first saw WoK. I was like "damnation! Thats a big book", and passed it by. Cover drew me back every tiem though lol. So yeah, once I finished A Memory of Light, I picked up Alloy of Law, and became entranced by Allomancy. Feruchemy escaped me until Hero of Ages (actually I didnt fully understand it until I found the forums and the Coppermind). But yeah, the smaller novellas and Alloy or Steelheart are awesome introductions to Sanderson. I think Alloy is perfect for it, since its short and sweet, and it effectively demonstrates how awesome the magic system is.
  12. I dont think Nightblood really cares one way or another about upholding oaths, or about the Heralds. Maybe Szeth would see it as evil, and then Nightblood would then cause him to kill himslef. But that would only be because of Szeths views on the subjects, and even then, he'd have to see it as evil and not just wrong or immoral.
  13. Its not realy that I enjoyed Mistborn more, it just gave me more to read than Elantris did lol. But like I said above, once I finished it, I just wanted more. And I didnt even know Emperors Soul was on Sel, and a kind of sequel to Elantris. I think its just that my awareness of the Cosmere itself came upon me during my read of Mistborn, so it has more of a exciting nostalgic feeling for me. Plus I listened to awesome music while reading Mistborn, which I didnt do with Elantris, and tht certainly has an effect. For me at least.
  14. Well, I have a few things I would say. Firat would be to say " When you start this book, and you are hooked within the first 10 chapter for sure, you'll be glad of the length, and will be upset its not longer." My other argument would be that he doesn't have to read it all in one sitting lol. Personally, I dont like smaller books, because if I do get into it, Im just upset there isnt more. And if I finish the smaller book and and dont instantly want more, than it just wasnt tht good in the first place. But hey, I dont have any friends lol. So take tht with a grain of magical sand.
  15. If/when its taken, I dont think it will be retaken by the Radiants. I have felt for a few years now that this is the story of a worlds destruction. I know, I know. It sounds too similar to MB. But Scadrial was ultimately saved from absolute destruction. I dont think Roshar will be saved.
  16. Idk. Dont know very much about electricity. But from what I do know, it doesnt act like electricity. But, maybe we just dont know enough about its physical properties yet. I supoose it could act like electricity, by it being a power source. Im 100% sure there is someone on this site that is highly versed in it though lol.
  17. Soulcasters dont need a bond to use the magic system on Roshar. Not arguing or trying to refute, just throwing that in. But, it is shown to have strange effects on the Ardents that use them often, so maybe there is some sort of exchange/bond happening.
  18. I think it was only 6 because of the superman logo. And hello from NE Ohio Aggie.
  19. That the original Hoid was Adonalsium? Doubtful, considering
  20. Yeah, I dont think its very likely either. Probably the reason I didnt think of it lol. But Im sure he will be a suspect. Probably not for long because he has an alibi. I do wonder how Adolin will be caught, because unless one of Sadeas' servants saw that he was chit chattin with our boy Addy, I dont see Ialais spy network helping her here. He would actually have to confess, and I dont see that happening. I mean, there were a lot of people who wanted Sadeas dead. Well, maybe not "wanted him dead", but they certainly would celebrate it I believe. But Maxal, I consider you the ultimate Adolin info source lol, so I will leave the likelihood of whether he will confess or not up to you
  21. damnation, never thought of it that way. I was only worried about him being seen as a deserter from the ragged uniform and a fortune in dune(dun? cant remember the propper terminology) spheres.Im sure Sadeas' wife will accuse him or Dalinar of the murder. Either way, its going to cause confusion and uncertainty with people throwing around rumors and deliberate misinformation. Either way, it will be a fun read. Hell, I wanted Sadeas dead for two very long books, and I was so pumped whe Adolin brained em.
  22. It would be a problem. But wouldn't a simple solution be for the Kandra to just ingest more hair and grow it as it needs it?
  23. I was wondering the same about Nan Balat yesterday. Didn't connect the others like Forch and Tonk Fah though. Good catch. Dont really have any insight into this atm. Yes, but the fact that he even added these scenes with Nan Balat, Tonk Fah and Forch says something. To me, especially with Balat, it says that something is going on, and that I should probably pay attention to it. Yes, it could be nothing. But I doubt it.Edited to add quote.
  24. Are there stars in the Cognitive Realm? Besides the not-suns we see. Cant find mention of them. But I dont own all of the books. Not a single mention in MB:SH. But that is on Scadrial, with their terrible sky(Not exactly sure where the fortress is located in respect to the Physical Realm). But yeah, might be one way to tell if Threnody is in CR. Maybe not.
