  1. @kingofnowhere Well,if you're gonna drop Lift out a window, you'd better make sure its straight down, because any angle on that fall and she will just use her awesomeness to remove her friction when she hits the ground and slip and slide her way into stardom! Lol But seriously, Im kinda inbetween you and Maxal on this point. Hoid is what drew me into the Cosmere in the first place, but Im not miffed that he barely has had any role whatsoever in almost every story so far. If a character I like starts getting pushed to the back burner, I will feel perturbed for a minute, but then I start wondering what character will be getting more page time, or if it will be someone all new getting introduced, like Lift. And speaking of Lift, I absolutely love her attitude towards everything. I mean yea shes a child, so taking others safety into consideration probably isnt topping her list of worries. But she obviously knows Wyndell isnt a voidbringer. She just likes screwing with him, because she gets enjoyment out of vexing him. Her logic cracks me up. But in the end, she shows she does care about people, or else she would have just left Gawx behind to die and kept running from Nale. She would never have risked her life to save him if she didnt care. Yes it was after the fact that it hit her that Gawx wouldnt have been in this situation if it wasnt for her, but she does realize it in the end. Really, I just want to see her grow and become a bada## Edgedancer. She has wit, she has brains, and she uses her caloric intake to fuel her powers. Wait until she realizes that she can draw in stormlight instead of just "burning" her fat stores for it. In conclusion, I guess what Im saying is that I love every toon in the Cosmere. Even Sadeas, although I wanted his demise to come so badly I could taste copper on my tongue lol. Really, if the story starts to lag, then I focus on the characters. If the characters get a bit boring, I focus on the overall story. If they both start to slip, well then thats when I stop caring and just out the book down.
  2. That would be one insanely,INSANELY big spren lol. I mean its too conspicuous for them to have nothing to do with the Heralds, I just dont see them being spren. But who knows. Ive been wrong many, many many times when it comes to the Cosmere. Its why I love it so much.
  3. Yeah I guesa you're right. It just always nagged at me that he had to actively take in the SL, because as evidence by their first time taking in SL, they dont actually need to actively draw it in. But, thats why I love Sanderson. Its murky, just like it would be if it was real. No solid rules guiding it. Or if there are, we dont know them because of their complexity.
  4. But didnt Kal do just that in the duel? He used that piece of Plate to have something strong. Enough to block a Blade, and then it ended up sucking up all of his remaining stormlight. Maybe he just didnt think of taking the Light from it, so it took the Light from him?
  5. I always pictured the midnight essence looking like those dog things from Avatar(not the last airbender). Probably completely wrong, but thats what I see
  6. Yeah. He answered that question by saying something along the linesmen of he wanted to but didnt have the time. Or something like that. It there will be one.
  7. So what you're saying is... Hoid is Deadpool!
  8. Well Worldhoppers are almost definitely aware of the astronauts. Toss up if the astronauts are aware of the Worldhoppers. I would guess yes, with the tech they have, but they might not. Or they might just have a very limited understanding of what a worldhopper even is.
  9. I dont know. I've always had the definition of Worldhopper be someone who travels between shardworlds using the Cognitive realm. What I mean to say is that, to me anyway, a Worldhopper isnt just someone who can travel between planets, but someone who utilizes perpendicularities and the Cognitive Realm as their means of getting to those planets. Otherwise they're just astronauts. Not to knock on astronauts. They're awesome too.
  10. You guys do realize that the red haze isnt actually there, right? Its was meant as a visual representation so Wax could grasp the severity of the situation. Red is also used as a sign in the Cosmere that bad stuff is/has happened there. There is a WoB on it somewhere, but Im terrible at searching for them.
  11. Wasnt it suggested that Odium may have had a hand in splintering Aona and Skai? Them combining Shards(although I dont know how they'd both hold the power of a single shard) would add to the theory that Odium wasnt acting alone on Sel. I do like the idea that they may have combined, and thats why Odium splintered them. And it would fit into him attacking Scadrial with the help of another shard to overpower Harmony.
  12. Hmm, guess Im a Lightweaver now. 65%. Weird, because I havent drawn anything for over a decade now lol. But I guess the rest fits.
  13. I do wonder how much Nale knows about Nightblood. Such as if he knows it belonged to Vasher and that he/it comes from a different shardworld. Not really important to the plot, I justify wonder how much Nale has learned of other shardworlds, if anything at all, in his travels with Nightblood. I hope NB Szetg have a good working relationship. He could be good for Szeth, I think lol.
  14. Possibly. Never thought about, but I guess they could take the fight to Odium by expanding their reach in the Cosmere. I mean he did torture them between Desolations for a long, loooong time. If it was me, Id never stop trying to oppose Odium, even if Roshar was destroyed. Good point you had there.
  15. Idk I think the Heralds we've seen would refuse to take up their blades again. The ones we've seen so far are broken. Hell, Shallash goes around destroying any effigy she can find of herself. That to me says,at least for her, that she doesnt want anything to do with being a Hearld again. Cant say for the others though. I also think they shouldn't come back. Having badically immortal, suoer powerful beings come back into play would take away from the struggles these new Radiants face, I think. Besides, Im with the theory that Roshar is done for. But yeah, them coming back would definitely take away from the struggles and desperation to save a world that the new Radiants will face.
  16. Yes,she did commit crimes in other nations. But Im pretty sure she would have to be in those countries in order for him to follow their proper procedures of that countries laws in order to bring her to justice. Its what he did in Azir. And he did chase her across "half a continent" according to Lift, and even then Im pretty sure he only used the offenses she had against her from stealing in Azir.
  17. I do like the idea that Szeth will wind up saving Kaladin though. He really is a good person I think. Just forced to do terrible things because of a lie perpetuated by the elders of his society. If he wasnt, he would have never been driven to the brink of insanity by his actions. If anyone deserves redemption, its Szeth.
  18. See but his mind is corrupted. It wasnt really about justice to him, but about stoping the Last Desolation and preventing the return of the Radiants. And I doubt lift will need to steal anymore, considering shes friends with the Prime(?). He may be waiting for her to commit some other crime, but his pretext is now done for, in regards to Lift.
  19. I dont think he will aend Szeth after Lift. Yes hes going after Radiants, but hes using the excuse that they escaped justice from some past crime as his reason for killing them. Lift was pardoned by Gawx, so bow he doesnt have that excuse. Im 100% sure Nale will send Szeth after others though.
  20. Yeah I guess youre probably right. We have to at least get some info from her after she arrives at the Shattered Plains. From a Dalinar perspective I mean. I think you're right though, probably wont get anything from her perspective. And the only Hoid perspectives we've had were from the end of WoK and WoR. Wishful thinking on my part I guess, but I would just really love even a 2 page interlude of their little journey.
  21. Well, while I agree she isnt the main protagonist, we did get an interlude chapter of some random ardents studying flame spren in some far off tower. And they sure as hell arent protagonists at all. I think its likely we will have a short interlude of Jasnah and Hoid conversing. Probably mostly Hoid being cryptic as usual, annoying the crap outta Jasnah lol.
  22. Well Nazh does let slip that Kelsier kind of "broke the rules" as he sees it. So there is almost definitely a process where you can choose to become a cognitive shadow. I was actually wondering since the Ire were on the lookout for shadows from Thronody at their fortress, if they meant the Shades(?) with The Rules, or just a regular cognitive shadow as we know it. I really want to see what the Shades manifest as in the cognitive realm.
  23. See Perrin I found to be pretty boring. Still loved him, just in comparison to Mat and Rand I didnt really look forward to his chapters until he really started going into the wolf dreams and dealing with Slayer(?). I completely hated Nynaeve and Egwene. But then I started realizing youre supposed to be annoyed with them, with their whole "Men are stupid and we're geniuses" attitude. But my favorite chapters are definitely the ones that are about or feature Mat.
