  1. Possibly. Can't exactly remember Kals exact thoughts through the chapters, but it did seem at times that he agreed Elokhar needed to go. Plus, when he tried to use his abilities against Adolin on the practice grounds, they failed him. I don't know if this means he knew he shouldn't use his Windrunner abilities on Adolin, or if it was the bond forcing him to its will. Plus, he hadn't even said the third oath yet, to protect even those he hates, as long as it's right. Please correct where I'm wrong(because I'm sure I am lol).
  2. Odiumum lol. I read it as Odi-yum-yum. Sounds delicious.
  3. Don't know about the Reod and all that. But, considering what Hoid started out as, I don't find it hard to believe at all that he had a hand in starting some(if not all) of these groups.
  4. Man, I really have to get the names and Order of the Heralds down. I had no idea who they were talking about when they said "Ash is getting worse...". Hell, I didn't even know those two at the feast were Heralds until I read it here on the forums, about 2 weeks ago! Had no idea when I read Baxils interlude that he was working for a Herald. No idea Ash was a woman, or that she was the 'daughter of kings', or that she was the lightweavers patron Herald! But about Shallan far-seeing. I remember thinking when reading those had to be real visions of things happening at that moment, or very recently. It just wouldn't have made sense(to me anyway) for it to be mentioned otherwise. And I think that's when I took notice that the woman chiseling the statues had real importance. Thanks for bringing it up though, because I had honestly completely forgotten about it lol.
  5. The mental imagery I got from the way you worded that sentence lol. But in seriousness, the Stoneshamans are most likely very dangerous people.I wonder if any are as skilled as Szeth? If not, boy are they screwed.
  6. That's pretty awesome. I've never really thought of them as similar, but I guess they are.
  7. I can understand the Nobles being most of those in charge after the Catacendre. But there would be no reason for it to be passed down through the family. They could easily teach ALL of the children, throughout their education, how to properly run a stable government. The Nobles should have lead until the next "leaders" (made up of both skaa and Noble) can come into power. Hell, if there is enough of them, you could even have an election. The noble houses having some right to a position on any political committee should have been discarded as soon as possible.
  8. Maybe with regular soulcasters(the tool), you do have to actually touch what you're soulcasting for it to work. Maybe she doesn't have to, being a natural soulcaster. She may have developed the habit so people didn't ask any more questions than they were already asking.
  9. Maybe not a tactical leader like you said, but I can easily see him being something like a lead intelligence officer or something to that nature. A compiler of info from all sources, from assassins to scouts to generals. And maybe, if he has enough time and the right teachers, he could learn enough to become a true tactician. Which, if it happens properly, and isn't rushed, could be a great arc to read.
  10. I got the feeling he was up to something. Not necessarily "no good", but maybe not something altruistic either. Either way, I need to see more of Kelsier. I was hoping to get some understanding of the spike in his eye from SH, but no such luck.
  11. 1. You can say you don't think him running in unprotected and untrained is brave. But you can't assume he doesn't know that he would be making the battle more difficult because of his intervention . He could have cycled through all of the things you stated, and just cast them aside because his family was in mortal danger. He probably knew he would be only the tiniest of distractions, if that, but even that would be better than sitting there watching his family die. 2. If you recall, Renarins freezing up was due to the screaming in his head when he touches his shardblade. The fact that he went into battle in the first place, knowing what he was going to hear and feel, shows the quality of person he is. 3. Again, you are completely discarding the fact that he already knows all of this about himself, and still acts, throwing himself into situations he knows he can't win. And again, the screaming in his head is a pretty big distraction(that he, unlike most others, attempts to overcome even though he knows what will happen when he summons the blade), as well as severely unnerving. 4. Again, you take everything he does and try to make it seem as if he has absolutely no reason to behave the way he does. On the contrary, when him and Shallan are in the chamber, Ranarin isn't just wetting his pants because he's afraid of the noise and fighting and so on. He is seeing the Everstorm arrive in his mind. He's seeing the death and destruction it will cause. I understand why you try to compare him to other "stronger" characters, but you have to remember, all of the examples you gave(Dalinar, Shallan, etc.), you get in depth POV chapters from these characters. You get to at least have a chance of understanding their thought process. Of understanding why they make the decisions they make. You get none of these for Ranarin. So basically your view of him is tainted by the view the other characters have of him. Dalinar sees him as weak. Adolin sees him as needing to be protected. Shallan sees him as weird and annoying. Kaladin sees him as strange. All of these viewpoints effect the way Ranarin is portrayed. But we never get to see inside Renarins head. To see how his Radiancy(or transformation into a Radiant) effects him. All in all, I'm not really a Ranarin fan, but I did see some major holes in your post. Your assessment for Ranarin, I think, is in passing and far too shallow. *Edit: Spelling
  12. My favorite character is Kaladin. All of his fight scenes give me chills. But my favorite scene out of SA so far is Adolin ramming his dagger deep into Sadeas' brain. I was screaming internally "YES! FINALLY!".
  13. I wanna say the North would win a war with SoScad. Their much higher numbers of Allomancer gives them an advantage. Especially if they can get their hands on some SoScad technology and use it for themselves. Possibly learning more about Investiture and things about Allomancy they didn't know before. I'm not really counting Feruchemists because, unless I'm wrong, there aren't many left. If I am wrong, just tack on Feruchemy to my previous statements. Now to the Southern Scadrians. We don't know much at all about Southern Scadrian technology, or their culture. We've only seen a group of them fight once, and IIRC, those were airship operators, not soldiers. And we don't know how large of an explosion those bombs they use create. I highly doubt it's nuke size, but I would confidently guess they could be MOAB(Mother of All Bombs) size. Hell, the tech we have seen allows them to steal Investiture of an Allomancer, connect their Identity to whatever land they go to in order to speak the language, control body temperature so they can survive in inhospitable climates. Withe all that said, which isn't nearly everything on the topic lol, I still think the North would prevail. With huge losses on both sides, with peace for a while after and possibly some intermingling of people's and lil behbehs being born. But who knows, maybe the North will be smashed and the South will rule for Era 3.
  14. Unless she and Baon had a falling out, I would assume she's at the very least associated with the 17th Shard. I hope they're still cool with each other. Her running around with Nazh kind of makes me suspect there is a rift between them. Unless she sent him with Raoden and Demoux on the mission from the 17th Shard to find Hoid. I'm gonna go with she sent him on the mission.
  15. It's crazy how you can remember what any of the Aons do. I have a really difficult time imagining the shapes of Aons by explanation alone. And then I can't catalogue it with its Aon name, so any time it talks about drawing Aons, I get completely lost. It's really annoying. Not on the books part. On mine.
  16. Finally found an e-reader that can search! Finally I can answer questions without going from memory.

  17. Well you definitely helped me understand it a bit better than before. Could it have something to do with intent? I mean, I know allomancy doesn't require intent(I think), but feruchemy does. So maybe it's just him burning the infused feruchemical gold with the intent of getting the healing effects, and not the allomantic effects. I honestly have no idea. Here I thought Allomancy was confusing. Compounding beats it bloody then drags it through the streets.
  18. Yeah my thoughts were "But people who know the Kings Wit would recog- ohh. Yeah. Lightweaving". But don't we have a WOB that says Hoid didn't take part in the events in Mistborn? He was distracted by something in the North? Not sure if I'm remembering correctly. But Felt being a worldhopper is awesome. I totally didn't believe it was true when it was first brought to light. Whoever spotted it is a boss.
  19. My mind was instantly filled with a Cowboy Bebop style saloon, filled with worldhoppers. Jet being the proprietor. Spike the waiter. Ed the cook.
  20. I remember someone pointing this out. Can't remember if it was from a comment or from the list of Deathrattles someone made. Good job on putting it together on your own though. I sure as hell didn't lol. I leave that sort of thing up to others, like yourself.
  21. Well, the Cognitive Realm is full of black spheres that may be the same size as Gavilars black sphere. This just came to mind about an hour ago. Am I an idiot? Has this already been disproven? Are the Cognitive Realm beads bigger/smaller than Gavs black sphere?
  22. Oh nice didn't know about that WoB. Thanks Yata."I bet that if a feruchemist was withdrawing power from a metalmind nightblood would consume that instead of the feruchemist. You might be able to empty an ironmind, not experience increased weight, and just feed nightblood. But does a coppermind even have investiture stored? I mean it is easy to say that something like feruchemical steel or pewter has investiture stored away in it (not in the same way that nicrosil does obviously, but there is still a sort of energy residing in the metalmind that could only be called investiture). But a coppermind *might* not actually have any investiture in it. Or maybe it does, and that investiture is what holds/preserves the memories in some way. If that was the case, nightblood would only be consuming what holds the memories, not the memories themselves. If the feruchemist who made the metalminds was touching them while nightblood drained them (and I am pretty sure they would have to be drawing on the metalmind for nightblood to indirectly drain them) than the feruchemist would probably be the one to access the memories while nightblood gets whatever bit of energy is packed in there to keep the memory preserved. But basically we don't really know if copperminds actually have "investiture" stored in them." That all makes sense. It could be any one have of those scenarios. I was just hoping there might be a way for Nightblood to gain some more knowledge somehow. Would be a cool little twist for him, I think. Edit: Added Drake Marshalls comment, because I'm an idiot and forgot to answer the comment I originally intended to answer.
  23. Maybe it takes more Investiture than Nightblood has.
  24. 59% Lightweaver. I had Windrunner(42%) and Edgedancer(29%) as my 2nd and 3rd. I don't understand it, my personality I think fits Dustbringer(11%) the most, but I always score lowest on both quizes for it. I'm gonna be a Dustbringer, no matter what anyone says!
  25. If the Radiants fighting are at the oath lvl of Shardplate, then I would have to say Roshar. Even involving one whole planet against the other, and not just the main power users of each planet, I choose Roshar. But It also depends where the front is, and if the Radiants can get the storm light they need, because Scads Metalborn can get their magic fuel shipped in pretty easily. Plus, carrying around vials(would have to be a very durable vial to withstand battle with a bonded Shardbearer/KR) of liquid with metal flakes is easier than lugging around big ol' gems. But honestly trucking in gemhearts filled with SL seems just as easy as Scads hauling in Metals. And Feruchemists would use all their stored powers pretty quickly fighting a KR/Shardbearer, I think. Compounders and Sevants are exceptions kind of. But maybe I'm wrong and Compounders and Sevants would wreck KR/SB. Fun to ponder. I'm gonna end this before I keep rambling. And trust me, I know I completely left out Soulcasters. And I think Voidbringers would smash Koloss. But depending on Era, there might not be any Koloss to fight. Ok. That's all. Later. Edit:Stupid thumbs spelling words wrong
