  1. Pretty sure their bodies had no need to adapt because of the medallions. Stopped people who couldn't adapt from dieing off. Also halted any genetic advancement for those who could adapt(over generations obviously).
  2. You can assume K and N are Kriss & Nazh. It is very likely. I just like to hedge my bets. I agree with you, she is looking for something more than just radio frequencies. RF signals were just the simplest answer for "talking tools". I think the theory for it being RF came from the early posts of the broadsheet ad, before we Knew Kriss was even in the book. But yeah, after reading BoM, that's easily the least likely scenario. Honestly, I'm hesitant to voice predictions about her plans anywhere. All we know is that she is the author of the Ars Arcanum, and she is studying the effects of magics on different shardworlds(please tell me if I'm missing something, because other than White Sands, that's all I know about her lol). Would be pretty awesome if they were trying to find ways to communicate with the surviving Shards. Good thing Brandon writes a lot, because now Scadrial tops my list of most interesting shardworlds, and all I want is more more more. Never thought anything could pull Roshar outta #1.
  3. Yea, I don't really enjoy her immaturity. I can stomach it. If it wasn't for her messing with Wyndle with the voidbringer talk, I would have probably just read her POV like I did Rysns, with little interest. But Rysn won me over too. She can accept when she was being stubborn or spiteful. I like that.
  4. I wanna say its the simplest answer. Which is tools picking up radio frequencies. But then ppl started making me think it was Kriss asking about them in the ad. Then I said, well, why would Kriss care about stray radio transmissions being picked up by rusty tools? I don't think she would. So, f it is Kriss who placed the ad, she's definitely lookin for something deeper.
  5. That's what I was thinking. Maybe they can predict it, but they just don't know the rotational speed of Scadrial, so it just seems random. But volt is right, if their is no redshift then its not effecting space, not even at the edges. Man this is gonna drive me crazy. Can't wait to see what Brandon comes up with.
  6. I had the same idea. Thought "why couldn't a kandra just use his bones, then spike em with Kels mind." Don't know if thats possible though. I keep thinking there would be a problem with an already formed Kandra taking the mind of another. Which we've heard doesn't produce a great reaction. Maybe use a mistwraith that had no spikes, so it wouldn't go insane. But yeah, the spiked eye is a mystery to me.
  7. World turtles. Some of my favs. But no, I don't think there will be turtles all the way down. There may be 2 equally powered turtles at the top, with lessers below. But there is a finite amount of turtles I'd assume.
  8. http://coppermind.net/wiki/Cosmere#PlanetsUnder Shard:None.
  9. Failsafes man. Start with two metalminds, storing about half luck for a short amount of time in one, then stop. I'm assuming luck acts like heat or mass and goes back to normal when you're not storing or tapping. Then you just repeat on the second metalmind. So even if one somehow slips off your body, you can just tap the others luck to get the first metalmind back. And who says you should stop with just 2! Obviously, if you can't store luck like mass, then the whole preventative steps thing is worthless.
  10. If it only effects time, how are projectiles entering/exciting Cadmium/Bendalloy bubbles thrown off? Unless it's just the edge of the speed bubble screwing where it is in time, causing a trajectory change. But then how would its angle change so erratically if its not effecting space as well?
  11. I for one love comic relief in toons for no other reason than cracking a joke. Don't get me wrong, I completely understand why you don't like it. It's basically how I see romance in most books. It's just Lopen was one of the first characters in ANY book I've read to actually make me laugh out loud. Well, Wayne was the first, but it was only about a month after AoL when I read WoK. Bad luck of timing I suppose. Good for me either way. But Im definitely a Lift fanboy too. She reminds me of Talmanes. Intentionally obtuse so they can internally laugh at the world.
  12. I think it was the etchings on the gun that reinvested it. The way miss karate lady described it, she just put the investiture back where it can from. Then Nazh just activated the markings, injecting more investiture. At least, that was my understanding of the situation.
  13. I really wanna read something about the groups that are storing breath to study undersea life. When Marasi started talking about pilot fish following sharks, my face became a big ol cheeser. Kept picturing a feruchemist engaging in fisticuffs with with a shark. Maybe some octopus.
  14. Didn't Wax try that with Miles? Pretty sure he said Miles would just keep dynamite on him for just such incidents. Or maybe it was ropes. Either way, boom sticks would work.
  15. Kinda already a thread dealing with this. But it is exciting. Aimians next please Mr. Sanderson!
  16. I'm guessing it's one of the reasons they wear the masks. Worshipping Metalborn might give said Metalborn overinflated egos. And I can only assume that they can kill for small slights, by Allik asking Wax to not shoot coins through his head. Can't wait to see more about the Southerners.
  17. The red Kandra want to destroy Scadrial to make way for a new Hyperspace Bypass. Well, they can hardly complain about it. The plans have been on open display for over a millennium now.
  18. I'm just glad it syncs with the characters and plot. None of it feels like it was put in because someone thought a romantic tangent was needed. It probably helps that the author is a beast.I mean, really, I enjoyed Steris more than I enjoyed Marasi this book. I mean Wayne obviously tops the charts, but Steris is on the boards now.
  19. Thought the same thing. They welcomed bad luck, because it meant they were using up their "store" of bad luck, which meant good things would happen... I guess? Something like that.
  20. I think it would be the opposite way around. The higher their core, the more frigid "normal" climates would feel.
  21. " They're barely men. They must hide their-" I think he was just talking about their masks. Saying they weren't really men because they hide their faces behind masks. But it could just be trying to throw us off the trail that they were spiritually altered.
  22. I was expecting Telsin to pull out that gun since the second Wax walked into her "holding" room. Didn't trust that one for a second. Other than that everything else I had guessed I was wrong about. Which is awesome.
  23. I'm going crazy checkin my library eBook app. Nothing up yet! SoS was up for queue 3 days before it released.:-[
  24. I'm guessing all that metal would just melt pretty quickly no matter how much of anything he had stored. Then he'd just be sitting pretty, burning to death. I didn't really think of that when I suggested he may have visited SoScad. Kind of a big hole I missed there.
  25. Oh OK I see. So its not dependant on a Shard to make Cognitive Shadows. That's good to know. Wonder why CogShadows are so screwy on Threnody?
