Yep, that would be him. Maybe a coinshot below the tracks, or a lurcher on the train. Or maybe one of the medallions. Maybe a gold metalmind like what's her face had, before her face was blown off. That's probably the likeliest explanation.

Yeah, I keep trying to see an angle where Spook gets fed up with having nobody volunteer. And just starts doing it. But I really don't see him doing that. I mean , he did live through a time where Inquisitors did just that, forcibly taking abilities. But maybe he advocated Hemalurgy around the wrong person, and they began what would become known as The Set through their secret testing of Hemalurgy. I'm really just trying to exhaust all options that might have led to Spook having a hand in the Set.

Oh, OK. I gotcha know. Yeah I don't know why he would stray from the "values" of his earlier books. Maybe with the earlier ones he didn't want to alienate anybody. Then he built up a solid, solid fandom, and felt like introducing more adult concepts and language into his writing. Idk. But man, GoT has had a few scenes(in book of course) where I was kinda taken aback. But you should try reading it. Vulgarity aside, its a damnation good read.

Its the other way round. The idea is that Mistborn got the cloak idea from Awakeners. They just didnt know what the humannshape was for, or the original mistcloak creator just really loved tassels. I'm not sure how likely it is,(probably not likely) but its still a cool thought. And I think Blaze also made a good point. A command phrase is different than a magical spell. Doesn't necessarily have anything to do with Nalthis or Awakening. Would still be a fun little connection that has basically no ramifications to the larger story though.

Good catch. Never thought about it like that, but the two garments are very similar, aren't they. At first I thought it could just mean saying a magic spell. But then why not just say "or cast a magical spell"? So yea I like this idea. Upvote for adding more intrigue to my Cosmere experience.

Lol OK cool. In that case I agree with you. I also argued that its pretty damnation cold to do that to someone. I was almost not cool with Wax forgiving him, but then Wax turned all Super Saiyan lvl 4, and I just let it go to enjoy show.

It makes sense. But a gods gotta do what a gods gotta do. And like you said before, she's a Kandra. Its not like it would really even hurt her, let alone kill her. And he's not omniscient, as demonstrated by him not knowing what is attacking Scad. So I think he did what any rational being would do, and chose the path of least destruction and chaos.

But why use one word instead of another when the first word has the desired effect?
-
That's what I thought. Wasn't sure if I was remembering wrong. So yeah only 2 known copies, the original Spooks' personal copy. So yeah, I still think it's unlikely, but Spook may have taught the Set what they know.

I mean I guess. But they're like the difference of a hairs width for me. I grew up with swearing as my first language, and incorporated English into that lol. But I can see where you're coming from.

I can't fault Sazed. It is manipulative, but he is trying to protect an entire planet. He made the decision with the more favorable outcome, that he could see.
-
I mean, they are called his adult series. But then again, I was very impressed on how he did it with SA. I never noticed there wasn't any swearing til after my second read. But I always think there's room for "crude" language. I just like it.

Stormlight Archive Fantasy Casting
The Ninja Yodeler replied to DiscoDubber's topic in Stormlight Archive
Timothy Omundson as Dalinar. Cain from Supernatural. That's who I see in my head anyway lol. -
Especially if he found a way to keep the initial spikee alive while the second uses the power. Even if that power is reduced. Does anyone know how many copies of the Hemalurgy books are on Scad? I think I remember both Marasi and Wax reading two separate books. And if there are more of them, then Spook most likely didn't teach the Set about Hemalurgy.

Nah. But then again I grew up with a father from the Bronx, so you'd have to say some pretty raunchy stuff to make me react. Honestly it just made me feel closer to Wayne as a character. More visceral. I never did like the line "and the words he said would make a dockworker blush" or something akin to that. I think the "worst" word they used was a "p" word a couple or 10 times.
-
I honestly never thought of that. Thought he was just a twisted kid who liked to kill things weaker than him. I have no argument for or against at the moment. But it would be a cool little link, showing how Wax has been pushed and pulled by gods for a long time now.
-
I think being worshipped as a god might have an effect on someone. Might make them think they can just take what they want. Especially if people decided not to volunteer. Not saying I think it's very likely, but I do think there is a chance. Mainly because I think it would be cool for good ol' Lestibournes to play the "bad guy".

Marasi, the Trap: where do you store your metal?
The Ninja Yodeler replied to Pechvarry's topic in Mistborn
Im still confused as to how a leeched metal inside your body doesn't poison someone anyway. It's still metal sitting in your stomach and being digested. But on subject, one of those little candy necklaces, but with cadmium balls. Tiny nubs on either side of each ball stopping them all from sliding off after you break that piece of the chain. Magnetise the chain so it doesn't fall off after one use, and reconnects itself. Maybe it could work, maybe not. I think it could. -
I fall into the trap of reading all of mine in American accents. Unless they are specifically shown otherwise. Rock has always been Hawaiian to me. Always saw him as Wakka from FFX.http://www.ffmages.com/ffx/images/wallpapers/ffx-wakka-wallpaper-1024x768.jpg Big guy in the middle of pic. Wayne's actual voice to me is slightly Cockney. Idk I'm really bad at that kind of thing lol. My mind is far too indecisive if it has the option. Voices constantly change for me, just like faces.

Was gonna write some protracted post, but decided against it. Short answer. It would all depend upon the person/culture. It's all grey man.
-
Oh wow Ive never thought of that. Always just assumed when a human bonded to a spren dies, so does the spren. Interesting thought.

What about the Voidspren and Renarin
The Ninja Yodeler replied to Mileswasbestcharacter's topic in Stormlight Archive
I don't think future sight has to be strictly of Odium. Cultivation has to be able to predict future events, or at least the probability of certain events occurring to progress whatever is being cultivated. I think the Vorin tradition that future sight is of Odium is that Odiums minions used future sight regularly perhaps, so anything using future sight must be of Odium. Plus, I dont think Honor would have allowed something of Odium to be in the KR, unless it was some sort of defector. I could very easily be wrong though.- 68 replies
