It seems like the Thrill was more active in Alethkar causing them to feel a kind of addiction. Which leads to more fighting and war, keeping them from uniting for the last desolation. Which is kinda exactly what happened. Don't know if it's stronger in Alethi than other ethnicities. Seems Nergaoul either precedes lots of fighting and war, or follows it. Not sure, haven't really looked into it much. Need to. Love how Brandon weaves it all together. Although it does make it hard to explain these books to anyone lol.

That's what I was thinking. Ruin discovered Hemalurgy, but he didn't invent it. He just utilized a Cosmere wide effect for his agenda. So yeah, not sure he (Harmony) even has the power to remove it at all.

Didn't Oathbringer fall onto some ledge on the side of the tower the Everstorm is coming from now? Not sure how long it takes for any significant amount of crem to build up(I assume the Everstorm has crem as well). If it's not long, say a month, then Oathbringer may never be found. I would say it makes sense, signifying Dalinars transition from active warrior to background leader, except he already gave it away to free a few thousand slaves. So idk lol.

Why didn't Heralds attract spren?
The Ninja Yodeler replied to Oversleep's topic in Stormlight Archive
Yeah, I remember reading that in the Ars Arcanum, but also being very confused on what it was lol. So I just focused on the others the I did understand, trying to figure out what they could possibly be used for(other than what we've seen so far). But thank you for clearing that up for me. Awesome is you Moogle. -
But Rashek had no friends: the well and nobles
The Ninja Yodeler replied to DeadFencer's topic in Mistborn
From what I remember, he turned all of his Terrisman buds into the first gen Kendra, then gave Lerasium to the nobles to keep them dependant on him, maybe. Gonna have to check that bit out again, but I don't recall him giving Lerasium Terrisman who could use Feruchemy, because he didn't want anyone matching him in strength. I mean he did initiate the breeding programs to try to curtail Feruchemy being passed on. Maybe I'm remembering wrong, but I'm pretty sure he was no friend to the nobles. EDIT-Wow, stupid auto correct made Terrisman to Terry's man and Lerasium to Persimmon. Very annoying. -
Yeah it's Realm-atics. But if my brain sees it as Real-matics, I'm not gonna beatmyselfupaboutit.

It very well could be. I just think he mentioned the blades in regards to regrowth because they would most likely have been the only form Szeth would have seen Regrowth being used. I mean, it's made clear he doesn't believe surgebinding has returned, so I don't think he would have ever seen it in that manner.
-
Yeah, I was pretty shocked by that. Had to assume that it would be done in a painless manner, and that it would be voluntary(but Marasi did use the terminology "round up", so probably not). About the creature falling from the void. Don't know if I should put spoilers, so gonna err on the side of caution

Add some vanilla ice cream to the mix, and the whole world would soon be spiked. Oh yeah, and welcome Rabbit.

Why didn't Heralds attract spren?
The Ninja Yodeler replied to Oversleep's topic in Stormlight Archive
Ohhh. No WoB necessary. You cleared it up quite well for me. Good to know I wasnt just missing what axial interconnectedness was(is it just Cohesion & Tension? Or are other surges also axial connections? I would assume so, but you didnt include either Kals or Shallans surges in there, and we know quite a bit about those two). And you just completely switched up wht I thought Cohesion was. So thanks for tht lol. Was thinking more in the opposite direction. -
Why didn't Heralds attract spren?
The Ninja Yodeler replied to Oversleep's topic in Stormlight Archive
Im probably wrong, and please correct me if I am, but arent the Heralds already kinda bonded to Honor? Like Dalinar to the Stormfather? He has no spren(well he does, but the SF is different from any bond we've seen so far, and he even says he wont behave like a normal bond would) and no shardblade (unless the Stormfather decides to drop him one, maybe something like an Honorblade, but not quite). I mean, I know Dalinar isnt some new Herald, but it does seem similar to the Heralds situation. The only thing really missing (besides the whole immortality thing) is the Blade, and I think thts because Stormfather simply cant do it(but maybe he would if he could, and had the inclination to do so). Just a thought. *Oh, and if someone could please explain to me just wht an axial interconnection is, I'd be much obliged. -
Yeah, I caught tht after I read all the comments (which is wht I said others werent doing).

Wait wait wait! Yalb for sure survived the shipwreck?! If so you just made my day. Him and Lopen are two of my most favorite toons. But on topic. Ive never even considered tht Rens visions were from anything other than his nahel bond. That would be so awesome if it was of Odium or an Unmade. But considering he has Glys, and he/she (Glys could easily be a femanine name, too) is explaining wht is happening to him, just like the other Radiants weve seen, Im more incline to go with him just being a Truthwatcher. Maybe its a voidspren? Masquerading as a regular spren? Not sure if a voidspren would have the cognitive faculties to pull tht off, but maybe.

To me it seems like something out of a highschool drama. She thinks she suppose to be with the handsome football star, but cant help noticing the guy she doesnt think she should be with. Not exactly 1 for 1, but its very similar. Honestly, I would rather Kal finds someone new (as in another female Radiant, or a nice darkeyes girl. Or kaybe a respectful, caring lighteyes((farfetched, I know). Adolin and Shallan make a pretty darn good couple, I think.
-
Ones tht further the plot, and arent just stamped in, and have no true purpose? Im just theorizing here, because I agree, romantic relationships in sf/fantasy are just cringe worthy in my experience.
-
I guess it could be something more than just Adolin bro-in out on Kal. But, with the jail sequence, I mean it was, what, the second time Kal put himslef in harms way, without shards, to save Adolin (and Renarin too, in the arena). Which also helped Addy-boy achieve his goal of collecting all those purty purty suits and blades. About Roshars views on the matter. Alethi, they are pretty weird people. Completely cool with abandoning your comrades, premeditated, in the middle of a joint assault. But talking about it is a no no. Its most likely varied from nation to nation. People are people are people.

Ooh, tsundere. New word for me . But to the question. Yes, definitely mutual attraction. I was gonna say Kal is more into her, than vice versa, but she definitely feels an attraction to him that isnt attribited to her being an iquisitive person who enjoys the contrast between who she thought Kal was, and who he actually he is. Cant wait to find out if shes gonna go the scholar route or the emotional route when she finds out Kal offed Heleran.

Why the "k"? Huh. Never really thought about it. It is wrong obviously, lol. Something from my childhood Ive never changed apparently. Which is weird, because I am kind of a stickler in terms of spelling. I dont agree with it still being magic. Its not in our universe, why would it have to be in the Cosmere?

Pregnancy in the cosmere
The Ninja Yodeler replied to Shaukan-son-Hasweth's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Wow. I like the complexity and uncertainty it adds to the equation. But , if I may, play devils advocate. It could just happen(the bestowing of Identity by the Spiritual realm((?) to whatever species once they become self aware. Identity is strongly linked to how one views ones self. Not nearly as complex or cool as your theory, but its and idea, I suppose. But then theres Stick. That little bugger had Identity, and he really wanted to stay a stick. Would that count as being self aware? -
theory Gavilar's Black Sphere and its content
The Ninja Yodeler replied to manavortex's topic in Stormlight Archive
Nah, Im goin along Manas vein. Its Gollum trapped in tht sphere. Poor lil guy. Who knew he was a worldhopper! -
I did very much so enjoy reading about Kal from anothers viewpoint, especially Shallans. Some of my favorite sections are their interactions. Kinda wanna see some Navani perspective. Rocks, since he can see anothers spren without them revealing themselves, which would give us unique insight into who could come into play.
-
Yeah it does say he can be seen tucking something away in his clothing, and I highly doubt an Honorblade wouldnt be recognized by Szeth. Or that it could just fit into a back pocket, obviously.

Found something about shard splintering, but it only talks about it being the same process, not the same "tool". To me the wording makes a difference.

How does Odium Splinter other Shards?
The Ninja Yodeler replied to Senor Feesh's topic in Cosmere Discussion
But remember, people on Scadrial seriously feared the Mists. It was basically only Mistborn who had zero fear of the mist (as even a lot of metalborn feared them, if just slightly). So by I AM A STICKs theory, it does make sense why Ruin was more than a little stronger the Preservation after he Invested himself into the people. Playin devils advocate is fun- 28 replies
