  1. This would seem to add to a theory I've had running in my head for a little while, that Malatium isn't actually the 11th Metal as Kelsier thought (and the Ars Arcanum, which is conceivably wrong since it's an in-world book). Since Malatium is an alloy of Atium, I never thought it made sense at all in the grid of Allomantic metals, so whatever Ettmetal really is, I wonder if it should take Malatium's place in the charts. jW
  2. We don't even know if this really is the True Desolation, though. That's all in-world knowledge, which we've seen (multiple times) be incorrect both in this series and basically every other series Brandon has ever written. jW
  3. That's a very interesting concept. I would say it's entirely possible from what we know of Investiture and Shard-magics, though it could just be metal itself as we've thought too. If that's the case, though, then a Mistborn or Coinshot/Lurcher visiting another planet could run into some interesting issues, or benefits. jW
  4. Actually, Brandon confirmed that Domi is not derived from Dominion, because it's a translation of an in-world word that doesn't actually sound like the in-world word for Dominion. Just a coincidence that in English they sound similar. jW
  5. Just don't try to spike G.R.R.M.'s speed… it would probably have an adverse affect on Brandon's. jW
  6. I can speak into an alternate universe that is very similar to our own, but uninhabited. This has the result of me appearing to speak, but that fact going unnoticed by those around me. jW
  7. I suspect Nale uses less Stormlight than Szeth did using the Honorblade, though I don't know how it would compare to Kaladin. It's entirely possible the Heralds are far more efficient than Radiants with Stormlight, but he could be doing something else instead. jW
  8. We know Odium has visited/had influence on all the major Shardworlds, so yeah, that would be very interesting too. I wonder how much influence he's had on the smaller worlds like Threnody, if any (the shades make me suspect he could be involved, but he's not the only baddie out there I'm sure). jW
  9. You know, the only person who thinks the Thrill is from Nergaol is Taravangian (that we know of), so he could be wrong. Considering Dalinar and Adolin's reactions to the Thrill later, it does seem likely that Nergaol and Odium could be involved, but we don't really know that for certain. Scratch that, I forgot about Brandon confirming it as posted above. jW
  10. Mistborn Yup, never kills anyone. jW
  11. Secret History Spoilers jW
  12. Ack, you're probably right, even though he can come across younger than he is fairly convincingly, that would be a stretch. Yvonne as Megan I'm sticking with. jW
  13. That's not even remotely useless! jW
  14. So perfect recall once you do that enough. I agree, and I assume that's what the Lord Ruler did, unless we've heard otherwise. jW
  15. Wait until he becomes a Knight Radiant, and then gets about 10,000 Breaths. jW
  16. I searched, though I didn't actually read the whole thread, but has no one suggested Zachary Levi for David? He's got the nerdy charm, with just enough suaveness to pull it off, while still nailing the bad metaphors (similes). On that note, I'd put him back together with Yvonne Strahovski as Megan, though some of the other suggestions here have been spot on too. jW
  17. It simply said in the books that Steelheart's steel didn't rust, though it could break and leave sharp edges. jW
  18. Reminds me of another pragmatic lady we suspect is a worldhopper now.jW
  19. Storms, those are hilarious comics. Did you draw those? jW
  20. A question to ask Brandon then: are the Terris the only people with Feruchemy, or did the Southern Scadrians also have a people born with native Feruchemy at some point? jW
  21. Thanks, awesome quote. I need to reread SH. jW
  22. Generally that's what you do when you write a book series. jW
  23. Woot has stolen our beloved Stick and is offering him/her/it at an insultingly low price: Stick - $0.01 + $5 standard shipping http://www.woot.com/offers/stick?utm_source=wootappatlanta&utm_medium=share And it's already sold out! (After all, there is only one Stick.) jW
  24. The one big flaw in your theory is that Ati killed Leras, yet the Shard wasn't Splintered. Perhaps that's because , but that's unconfirmed as far as I can tell. I think there's something else that has to be involved beyond just "I'm stronger than you because I have more investiture". jW
  25. I feel like what I read said that not just any spikes worked as Kandra Blessings, but not that two Kandra couldn't swap spikes or one Kandra couldn't use two sets. Didn't TenSoon use two sets of spikes during the original Mistborn trilogy at some point? jW
