It depends on the church, but usually not . Lots of people in my church take notes during the sermon, so it's pretty normal. jW

I had to go look that up to remind myself of the context. It was actually the Stormfather talking to Kaladin as he's riding the storm in his mind/vision while he sleeps (not when he's with the king and the others, but the time he's in the bunker and the bridgemen say he was trying to walk out into the storm). Because of that, I have to question the reliability of the statement that Odium reigns, since we know the Stormfather is broken mentally and may be wrong there. jW

I have been thinking that it's actually Honor who rules, broken and shattered but still reigning. Odium is obviously still trapped and held back. jW

"I see", said the blind man to his deaf dog, as he peed into the wind. "It's all coming back to me." "I see", said the blind man, as he picked up his hammer and saw. jW

Can't imagine ever wanting to tap that one. Probably just fill a tinmind and toss it in the smelter. jW

I was thinking Chris Pine. Maybe a weird mashup of the two? jW

Interesting. There's a store about 45 minutes from me on that map, might be worth the trip. jW

I didn't read the whole thread yet (sorry), but I had a new theory as I reread the scene with the Shadowblaze last night. What if Joel is going to bond with a different type of "good" chalkler (my new term for the types of creatures like the Shadowblaze and the Forgotten), just like there were obviously different types of Forgotten/bad Chalklers? Nalizar spoke of others like him having trouble understanding time and the clocks, but not him. Maybe Joel's logic and mindset didn't attract that Shadowblaze, but he'll end up bonding a different type? Edit: Well, dust, it's not a new theory, but consider me a proponent. jW

I thought it was stated outright that windspren had a habit of making things stick together as pranks on people, like it happened all the time? Granted, that's not 100% confirmation, but it sounds like that wasn't perceived as unusual at all. jW

Unless there's a WoB I'm not familiar with, I didn't think we had confirmation that Odium was the Broken One. In fact, I thought it was Honor, continuing to reign posthumously, in essence, considering his is the most significant influence on the Investiture of Roshar. jW

That sounds awesome. The WoBs are somewhat compiled, but not those kinds of references. jW

I was beginning to suspect that might not be the line they use too, or that that line may be used elsewhere and a different line is used there (after all, his mouth is completely hidden, so it's not like we can tell that's what he was saying). I can't quite tell what Black Widow's side is either. She was telling Cap not to get involved, and it was implied she'd arrest him (or worse) if he tried to protect Bucky, but then she's standing with him there. She could switch, just maybe not easily, I guess. jW

Actually, Sazed noted that each Keeper's copperminds contained the full knowledge, even the subjects they weren't focusing on (that's why he had the engineering texts to do the trick with the canals). Since it was all focused on history and subjects suppressed by the Lord Ruler, though, I don't know that they'd need to worry about the metalminds themselves being taken. Their existence would have been a secret they wouldn't want out more than the specific contents. The only thing I wonder about that is that as Sazed ascended, he noted that the full contents of the metalminds would have been too much for any mortal mind to hold. I don't know if that means they couldn't have tapped them all, or just couldn't have remembered it all if they did, but I do wonder if they could successfully erase a metalmind that quickly. jW

To be fair, Rashek didn't move the well; he moved the geography of the rest of the area to place the city basin over the well (he flattened the mountains that used to be the Terris homeland). I don't know if that means he couldn't move the well, or just that he didn't know how, though. I suspect Sazed/Harmony could probably position his well where he wants it one way or another. jW

You're right, maxal, I'd forgotten that line from Navani. Very odd that he wouldn't know hardly any. jW

That's an awesome comparison. I wonder if that was intentional or not (this is Sanderson after all). jW

I thought it sounded almost like a nervous quip. "Hey everyone, sorry Cap, I'm just doing what Tony asked, I can't believe I'm meeting all you real heroes!" Hard to say from the one quick line of course. I love the lens effect on the eyes too. I hope that was his own addition, rather than some Stark tech. jW

Lol. Did you mean that as a joke (considering he posed as a wolfhound and a horse)? I literally laughed even if you didn't. Considering he seems to be leading the kandra though, I'd be a bit surprised if he was able and willing to leave Scadrial. jW

I suspect if someone had Hemalurgicly granted Allomantic Pewter, for instance, you could steal their strength, but not the ability to use pewter, since as noted that would already be bound to the existing spike. jW
