  1. I'm a little jealous of a lot of ya'll. I speak English, and Pig Latin if I'm talking slowly. I know a smattering of Japanese, but haven't dedicated the time to really learn it (I took one semester in college, though it was Japanese 102 instead of 101, since I knew enough to skip the first semester). jW
  2. Thing One (And Thing Two, but that would be too long for this game.)
  3. It's interesting that increasingly online I feel I'm a rarity, and on some sites, a pariah, in that I'm a Christian, and one who actually believes that Jesus wants me to live my life for Him, not just occasionally acknowledge His presence (not that I'm anywhere close to perfect). I doubt I'll see anything like the attacks I've gotten on other sites here, though. :-) To be more specific, my church is a PCA church (Presbyterian, but the conservative, reformed branch instead of the larger and significantly more liberal PCUSA). I don't know if I'm 100% in agreement in every theological area, but in general I feel I'm in the right church. I've been there since I was 1 year old, though, and haven't explored a ton of other churches. jW
  4. Since you got skipped (due to double answers): Granted, but you immediately lose it and can't remember where. You also are never again able to walk in a straight line. For your other one, same answer (you wouldn't have had time the bond it, so no summoning it back). :-P I wish I was permanently healthy.
  5. Wow, dude, chill. This isn't about having thick or thin skin, it's about being reasonable in an online discussion. You didn't even attack me in the initial post, so my having thin skin would be unrelated. Maybe take a break and come back in a little while when you can stop making jabs at people? jW
  6. If it's like the static, maybe they can hear the sounds that would be masked by the static to a less sensitive ear. I can sometimes make out a bit of a radio station that's close on the dial when someone else would only hear static. It could be something like that (I'm no scientist, so I'm not sure the mechanisms behind that kind of approach). jW
  7. Oh man, what if they got both? High Epics would have someone to look up to (or look out for) then.jW
  8. Granted. You now live in an alternate dimension where the deserts of Australia, where you've now been moved to, look and feel exactly like where you live currently, but no one there is willing to look at or talk to you. Ever. I wish I could sing better.
  9. That's an unnecessarily antagonistic way to say that. We don't actually know either of those things for certain, and it's never stated that the chasmfiends eat every thing around. We only know for sure they eat humans and probably Parshendi. jW
  10. Maybe it mimics the natural "background Investiture" they would normally hear, which is why it sounds silent. It'd be like static over a radio, which would be the equivalent of silence in that scenario. jW
  11. Hoid has...interesting ways of achieving his goals. Sometimes they're not what people think (per WoB). While he may have burned the Lerasium, he may have done something very different instead. I don't even know if Lerasium could rewrite his Spirit Web that way, since he's something not quite human anymore. jW
  12. My one objection is that all of the main spren you've cited are emotion spren. I would assume that (like Wyndle), some half of the main spren would be nature spren instead. Others have already suggested which orders are aligned with each type of spren (though without going into the detail of the specific spren for each order like you have), so that would be a good starting point (I don't recall them offhand, but there's a topic here and maybe a Wiki page). Still, great job overall! I definitely agree with a lot of these, despite the objection I noted. jW
  13. That was in the version I got, definitely intriguing. jW
  14. I didn't think the whole continent was just crem deposits. I was pretty sure the rocks were all covered with crem, to varying degrees, but it was not ever assumed to have been formed originally from crem that I've seen. jW
  15. This topic isn't going to help anyone who is already afraid of the dentist. Hemalurgic spikes in your teeth? Ye-ouch! jW
  16. Could a Seeker hear the Rhythms if they traveled to Roshar? jW
  17. I always read it simply as "I saw something happen to her that no one could have survived." Sure, Shallan later says she was probably close to invulnerable, but she didn't realize that at the time, or assume that Jasnah had similar capabilities to heal herself. There is certainly a strong likelihood that we'll be seeing hemalurgy in other stories, including possibly in Roshar, so I'll be keeping a close eye on this for the future. jW
  18. I believe we have a WoB saying Shardblades cut on all 3 Realms, actually. I don't know if that would be true of the silver knives (I suspect not). jW
  19. Great question, awesome fact to learn! I don't have much to add, but I'll be very curious to see more answers come out. I do agree that the name Threnody may indeed be in memoriam of Aona and Skai, though it does bring up the question of when it was named. jW
  20. Umm, we don't actually know any of that to be true. Brandon said her eyes weren't affected because they're already light, not that the change wasn't noticeable. Don't go throwing absolute statements around about something that hasn't yet been proven true. jW
  21. I have some talent at postcognition. Still working on discerning the meanings of what I see, though. jW
  22. However, do we actually know that it was metal Hoid used? Perhaps it was flakes/dust from a gemstone instead, if this theory is correct. jW
  23. My interpretation is that the weaknesses simply wouldn't completely counteract their powers now, just weaken them. Without High Epics on their side, that could still make for some huge issues, but between their 3 (maybe 4) High Epics already on their side, any others who turn back to good, and the knowledge of Knighthawk, I suspect they'll do just fine overall. jW
