I don't see that as necessarily saying there are 7 planets, just that when they get to "the 7th land" (world/planet we think it probably refers to), they'll be home. Kinda like we talk about being on the "3rd rock from the sun" but not because there are only 3. I also don't buy that they're particularly Cosmere aware, though, at least not currently (their predecessors may have been, but the Iriali now probably don't know much if anything about that, just the prophecies like Yata is suggesting). jW

I shall have to time myself. I read really fast, but I have no idea how it would compare (Lord of the Rings took part of a weekend). jW

You're almost 10 years younger than me...and you think it's weird for you? :-P jW

If I had to guess, I'd say he was probably retrieved by the use of the Gabriel before he reached the cognitive, just sort of intercepted. It's possible it does work differently there too, though. jW

I'm undecided, so call me TeamSpidey for now. :-P I suspect he'll switch sides like he did in the comics, but they could go a totally different way with all of that. Do we need a new topic for a poll, or can the original poster create it in this same topic? jW

Occam's Razor doesn't really apply well to fantasy universes where we've been explicitly told that some people are doing things we don't expect. Let's just toss that argument out the window, since Occam didn't live in the Cosmere. jW

Looks to me like Black Panther is after Bucky (did The Winter Soldier kill someone in Wakanda maybe), while I'm sure Falcon recruited Ant-Man and it looks like Tony recruited Spider-Man in secret. Black Panther is in the fight, but not an Avenger I suspect, while Spider-Man is probably not considered an Avenger yet either, but maybe kind of a junior recruit. Black Panther may not end up being an Avenger at all, since he has a country to run. jW

That's an awesome theory, and I can definitely see how Brandon could choose to go that way. It would be interesting to see Adolin's sense of honor conflicting with his intent to keep his murder of Sadeas secret, and that could lead to him leaving in penance as some have suggested (with or without confessing first). jW

I can't track it down at the moment, but there's a WoB saying Frost is one of the most Cosmere-aware characters that isn't a worldhopper, so that's pretty good confirmation overall. jW

As long as they're soft and chewy. Not the type with viruses and malware. jW

Sounds to me like it uses some of her innate Investiture to grow it, similarly to who you're talking about. I'd say there's a great deal of similarity, yep, though obviously some major differences too. jW

Yeah, that's what I was trying to get at, whether that makes a distinction. My assumption is that it doesn't, but would really only be distinguished from stabbing, say, a dead body, or a plant or something that doesn't have blood. I don't know if Brandon meant for there to be more of a requirement beyond that, though. jW

Spoderman is heeeaaaahhhh!!! Lol, I'm excited, and he sounds like he's got the right attitude and character down. I think this should be a good incarnation of Spidey, even though it's two too many already (I'm somewhat in the minority in preferring Andrew Garfield overall though). EDIT: Pestis the Spider, if no one else does it first, I can do that, but it'll be tomorrow afternoon at the earliest. jW

My wife made amazing shells and cheese from scratch tonight. All I know it had for sure was cheddar, almond milk I think (we don't keep real dairy milk around often), parsley, and garlic, plus the little mini shell pasta of course. Unbelievably good. jW

There is flow, though, even if it's minimal. There's still veins and capillaries at least in the ear. Heck, I had the top of my ear pricked by an acupuncturist (intentionally) and it certainly let a fair bit of blood out. If Hemalurgy does indeed require "flowing" blood, that could be a valid concern, but the movement that inevitably occurs even in organisms without our type of circulatory system is likely still enough. jW

Most of us aren't questioning that. The question is whether they could use the carapace like they use the bones, and have it on the outside but still attached/controlled. I see no reason they couldn't, since that's not really much different than hair or nails, which we know they can use. jW

I see using Hemalurgy to steal Feruchemical Copper as stealing capacity for memory, rather than the persons actual memory. Having a copper spike would grant you increased short or long term memory capacity, or perhaps perfect recall for more memories (The Lord Ruler?). Edit: That's largely because I see Feruchemical Copper as a memory storage system, not specifically as memories. It stores the ability to recall memories, therefore, not the memories themselves (those never leave your mind and are just recalled when you tap). jW

He could simply be asking Hoid to leave Alethkar, and the other places on that landmass. Do we have confirmation that there's no other land masses outside of the one continent and the smaller island around it, btw? I can't think of where Frost could reasonably be holed up if so. jW

Whew, was starting to think I'd be the oldest. jW

A better question would be whether a kandra could impersonate a Parshendi, using the Parshendi's existing carapace like they would their bones. That would be pretty much the same thing on an obviously much smaller scale. jW

Is the Shard that's focused on hiding currently being held by its original Shardholder? (Wondering if the current holder knew what happened to the first, so is in hiding because of that knowledge and fear.) Have we seen any influence from that Shard on any world so far? jW

Fair. I still don't blindly trust what scientists say for that reason. :-) jW

I don't trust medicinal science that much either, actually. :-P It hasn't helped me, plus I see too many examples of bad science and legislation getting in the way of progress. Vaccines are a key example. The concept is great and many or good, but here in the US you're not even allowed to bring a suit against a vaccine company, and the doctors can't label problems as being caused by vaccines usually because they get shut down at every turn. As you said, there could certainly be confirmation bias in many cases, but science is far from perfect in many areas, sometimes because of confirmation bias on the other side too. jW
