  1. Suit referred to it as one of Trell's own Faceless Immortals, which implies in context to me that Suit just meant like "divine agent on earth" as opposed to literally a Kandra. Much like how you could say a demon is one of the Devil's own angels. I think "this form" meant it possessed some homeless guy. I'd assume those Kandra survived and are with Harmony now. They were defeated, but not killed, i see no reason they wouldn't still be around. It isn't like Odium ever controlled them.
  2. Tribourne, Day 7 Quakezone stood in discussion with his advisers, trying to decide upon a course of action. It had been two days since Laserbolt had sent hundreds of useless malcontents flowing into his district, clogging up his streets and causing a massive spike in crime. “Is she still claiming that they came willingly, and she had nothing to do with it?” Quakezone asked. Dreadpyre nodded. “Yes. she is keeping to that line. She is holding another tournament tomorrow, and expelling those who lose, providing they don’t die. She isn’t specifically sending them here- but when forcibly removed from her section of the city, they almost always come to here or Foundry’s. She has closed her borders temporarily, to prevent the exiled from returning.” “Do you recommend we close our borders completely, too?” Quakezone looked around the room. His advisers looked thoughtful or uncertain. Finally Grenadier spoke, “I think we should keep our borders open, but kill any who we think are not coming here legitimately.” Rainman shook his head, “No, that will discourage genuine immigrants. We still want more people to demonstrate our superiority. What if we conscript these useless sods into our army, and workforce? Enslave them completely as punishment, if they cannot find employment within a week of their arrival? Project Watchful is nearly ready, after all, and we can track each and every one of them and get their employment details too.” Quakezone nodded. “Yes, that seems a good plan. We could use the extra manpower in our fields.” As the advisers nodded, he glimpsed a servant waiting in hi peripheral vision. He turned, nodding for the servant to come forward. “What is it?” The servant whispered, “Someone is here to see you, sir, an emissary from Darwin.” Quakezone raised his eyebrows in surprise. “Darwin? Here? Hmmmm…..” He turned to the table, smiling, “Gentlemen and women, an emissary from Darwin has arrived. I think I should keep this little secret from our friend Laserbolt, don’t you agree?” He turned back to the servant as they nodded. “Inform Foundry, we will meet at the Circle, but without Laserbolt. Have a car take this emissary there immediately.”

  4. Victoria, Day 6 Bluefingers takes black Blackhoof takes red Afterglow The group had already stopped for the day, about a mile out of another Epic’s town. No independent Epic seemed to like relying on others, and reliably so, but she was the only one who could offer large amounts without huge prices. The slaves were the 95% who she didn't desire, the ones who weren't her soldiers. They were fed enough to survive and docile enough, thanks to Charisma. The risk of using them for their group was a bit too high, so they were traded for goods raiding couldn't provide. Charisma was off negotiating with Deathgrasp guarding him, and Sandstorm was training recruits. They needed the supplies due to their growing numbers. Four epics, 160 able-bodied men and women, and 27 vehicles. She had her own private army in the making. The other's tasks took plenty of time, she had extra time for a release today. Afterglow walked over to the beaten old van, one of the few vehicles lacking in weaponry. Once she gestured it's guard aside, she opened the back door and walked in. The older man inside was gaunt faced and covered in gashes and dried blood. Upon seeing her, he struggled violently against the rope binding him to a ring in the wall. Afterglow snatched a knife out of a sheath hanging on the wall and drove it cleanly through the man's upper arm. The man screamed as blood pooled around the hilt of the knife. The cloth in his mouth muffled the noise enough to keep the rest of the camp from hearing. “You should have listened to my warning. What did you think I mean when I said slaves would be punished for running away?” Afterglow whipped out her pistol and placed it against the man's temple. His eyes grew wide and he tried to draw back mouthing “no” through his gag. Afterglow put it back in its holster. “You'll be wishing I'd pulled the trigger in a few days time, I'll take care to make you last longer than they usually do. For now, we have plenty of time together.” Afterglow relished his shrieks of pain as she twisted the knife in his arm. “What to do today?” She thought, looking towards the various implements in the van. She spotted a hacksaw in the corner and walked over to pick it up. I think I'll start with the legs. Charisma and Deathgrasp returned several hours later with the supplies their trades had gotten them. Afterglow looked over the items, seeing most of the usual. Canned food, bullets, power cells, water, clothing. Pretty standard stuff, it seems today's client didn't have anything very valuable. Wait a moment . . . “Charisma, are those claymores?” Charisma beamed his perfectly white smile. “I knew you'd notice those. They weren't cheap, but they'll probably be useful if you know what pans out.” Ah yes. Afterglow had been meaning to reveal her plan today. “Sandstorm, come here!” She yelled, waving over the shaven headed man. He walked towards her almost mechanically. The dust around him blowed out of his path, causing the streamers of his cloak to flare away from him. He carefully picked up one of the explosives in his calloused hands. “Good quality” He said in a gravelly voice. “You could take out a truck with one of these. I had the misfortune of riding over one years ago. Put them in the armory.” A group of mercenaries scrambled to take the stack to their armored eighteen wheeler. It was time to make her announcement. Afterglow beat her wings and flew onto the roof of a pickup on the edge of a crowd. The soldiers turned to her immediately, too well-disciplined to not pay attention to an Epic. “As many of you may have guessed due to heightened weaponry influx, I've planned something big. For the majority of you who aren't familiar, Bushfire is a fire Epic whose bandits prowl about 150 kilometres from here. Our plans are to kill her and sway her followers to us.” Several people looked nervous, clearly aware of Bushfire's reputation. Charisma stepped forward, realizing the unease. “We've done things like this before. Bushfire will be crushed by our combined strength.” The body of mercs let out a cheer, raising weapons into the air. They believed him, as always. For once, though, even Afterglow wasn't sure if he was telling the truth or not. Deathgrasp Deathgrasp lay on the roof of a truck, staring up at the stars. A glass of whiskey and this would be perfect. Still not sure what boss has against that stuff. Fires glowed around the camp as groups of mercs relaxed around them. The pits held all manner of pots and pans filled with whatever might come cans or the wilds around them. Deathgrasp sat up and looked out across the camp, keeping tabs on her fellow Epics. Charisma was being a sleaze as usual, hitting on some blonde woman near the edge of camp. Sandstorm’s bus leaked light from behind the curtains. Probably meditating she thought. Afterglow could be anywhere, that girl was far too confusing for her. A flash of light came into her field of vision on the horizon. The hell? The light quickly grew closer until she realized it seemed to be a large person. Probably an Epic from around here, hopefully just passing. Deathgrasp relaxed as the figure passed by, then made a U-turn towards camp. Adrenaline flooded her body. “Epic approaching camp! Potential hostile!” She bellowed before throwing herself to her feet pushing off the roof with her legs. As the bus roof bowed slightly, she rocketed 40 meters into the air and saw soldiers scrambling below her. The arc of her jump landed her right near the edge of camp with a spray of dust. She looked up to see the figure descending towards the ground. Katherine Katherine braced herself as Jetpack slowly descended towards the ground, and began loosening the straps. With a small yelp, the straps came loose and she fell a few feet to the ground, landing as gracefully as possible while the Epic giggled and dropped behind her. On the way back from the meeting at Mungo, her radio had buzzed- alerting her to a new opportunity. A large gang of mercenaries, lead by an Epic, had been identified. So she had rerouted, trying to look for them around the area they had last been seen- luckily their convoy wasn’t hard to spot from the air. Looking around, she saw quite a few guns pointed at her. This… could have been ill-advised. An Epic with wings was looking at her, standing on a vehicle. The leader? Katherine cleared her throat. “Ahem, uh, hello. My name is Katherine Howards and this is Jetpack. We are representatives of Wendigo, the Ice Queen of Victoria. She wishes to deal with a certain group of destructive bandits, lead by an Epic named Bushfire. She is too busy to deal with the annoyance herself, so she has instructed us to find mercenaries to do it for her. All we want is for her and every single one of her bandits to be killed, as an example to all those who resist the Ice Queen. We have the resources of an entire city available for payment, so price is no object. Shall we discuss this further? Charisma Charisma pushed up his mirrored shades and strode towards Katherine, hand near his gun. “I must say, this is quite convenient for me and mine. We were planning on offing her and integrating her mercenaries. Killing them instead though, we can do that if you can pay for it.” Charisma noticed the gyrating discs of sand behind the Epic. Clever Sandy, it appears we have a captive audience now. If they tried to run, the discs would likely slice them in half. “For you, dollface, I think we can give you a fair price. I'm thinking four thousand kilos of gold, two million bullets of various kinds, food and supplies for 200 for 3 months, and some vehicles and guns to sweeten the deal. Fair? We can work on fine print if you're interested.” Katherine Katherine turned to see a… startlingly beautiful man walking towards her. She blinked hard, and the man began talking to her. Was this the leader, and not the winged Epic she had seen? She considered the deal, but found herself blushing at the man’s handsome, chiselled features. Katherine! She thought to herself. Don’t be a silly girl, he is just some mercenary! But those eyes, that face…. It made her shiver. She realised that she had been in silence for several seconds. “Oh! Uh, yes, that sounds quite fair. We can certainly afford such generous payment. Let us go somewhere inside to discuss the details. Jetpack, you stay here.” With that, she entered a tent with this beautiful man, and they began discussing the details of the agreement. Charisma Later . . . Charisma watched as Katherine and the Epic disappeared into the distance with trails of flame. That was quite convenient, all things considered. He watched as Afterglow jumped from the roof 3 meters up and glided down upon her wings. “I made the deal without you, why didn't you step in? You are in command of our little group after all.” Afterglow swept her hair away from her face. “If I'd heard anything I didn't like I'd have stepped in. Besides, that Katherine lady likely assumes you're in charge. You don't fight often anyway, so I just made things a little more confusing if they try to off us. On top if that, I could pass for a 17 year old. Epic or not, people often don't take me seriously as a leader. So, does the radio-phone work?” Charisma held up the blocky device which Katherine had given him. “Yeah, she used it in front of me, we can reach them if we need to. I was thinking that I should hold onto . . .” Afterglow yanked the phone from his hand. “I'll handle it myself.” Charisma scowled at her. Afterglow looked towards Sandstorm and Deathgrasp, who stood behind her. “We have the information we need, we move tomorrow.”
  5. Yeah, about that. And we assume about 1:100 high epic/epic ratio. So Oregon should have 300 epics statewide, and 3 high epics XD we have about 30 high epics
  6. You misspelt "wisdomspren" as "wiDSomspren"
  7. I think AonDor is a bit of a fusion of both magic systems- the Dor after all, is the pool of both Shards' power. I think Dominion insisted on these very methodical, systematized methods of utilizing the power (Aons, ChayShan, Mystery runes, Dakhor), and Aona, out of devotion, gave her power to his control. So all magic systems are a fusion of both of them- I believe they were lovers in life, too. Makes sense they would fuse in a positive way. Ironically, Dakhor is the system that requires you to be most devoted of all of them- so devoted they would commit suicide for their cause. I feel like both devotion and dominion are present, in different forms, in all the magic systems and societies. Devoted to learning the Aons, and the moves, devoted to kill for the Mysteries.
  8. yeah, all that is fairly true. Although I would suggest that Lashing them upwards (like Szeth does to great effect) would be able to kill quite a few- only requires a touch, and enough stormlight for two or three seconds or falling upwards. Although Vin was never actually the messiah, that was Sazed. It depends what type of Surgebinder she is fighting and if they have any Shards, I think. Kaladin without Plate but with his Shardspear should have a good chance- if he carries a shield he can draw away any coins she shoots, and he certainly has more mobility than her. He can heal most wounds she deals to him, and a single strike against her would put at least one limb out of action. Same with Szeth. It would be an interesting fight nonetheless. I don't think Koloss souls are focused entirely in their spikes- the base human should still have their soul in their body. So I can't imagine they would work differently, although I don't know if the Invested spikes would resist Shardblade blows or not. yes, I agree on this point that is true, but Adolin wasn't a Knights Radiant with Surges. Szeth has shown he can take on three Shardbearers at once and win without too much trouble. I actually disagree completely. Mere coins would have a negligible impact on Shardplate, and I don't think Steelpushes work like that with the anvil. If ten coinshots push on the anvil, the allomancy would consider it ten separate weights pushing against the anvil and back towards them- therefore the anvil would barely tumble and they would each be thrown backwards. We've never seen coinshots combine their shots like that- implying it simply cannot be done. It is true that thugs are faster, but there is little chance they could get in and out quickly enough to avoid death. In? probably, if the thug leaps at the right time with a mace or hammer, but they would die once the Shardbearer quickly recovers. And if this is a KR with stormlight we are talking about, they wouldn't be faster at all.
  9. yeah, that sounds really likely. Perhaps the Reod was also caused by the other worldhoppers as well, causing them (except for Hoid) to take up an oath of nonintervention?
  10. I'd be concerned about it becoming another Salem- intended for just cool fights and then stalling because the fights don't sustain themselves without plot.
  11. He does have a metal, and it is called Harmonium (Brandon confirmed) It isn't called Sazedium because Sazed thought that sounded bad aha
  12. Yeah, soothers and rioters could definitely dampen the Thrill. Well I wouldn't say all of Roshar is conditioned to fight the Parshendi- literally just the Alethi, as of five years ago. Other than that, everyone is used to fighting other humans. That was with Shardplate on, you realise, thus with enhanced strength. I think a Radiant would be worth more than that, although we haven't seen many of the Radiant powers. Windrunners and Skybreakers could likely smash and avoid Koloss pretty easily, killing far more than 50 before falling. They can do everything a full Mistborn like Vin can do, but more, and Vin could kill more than 50 before falling herself. Or Elsecallers, turning Koloss into smoke or fire. Or Dustbringers, burning/melting them. I'd say not- Radiants are very powerful from what we've seen. Picture several hundred Szeth's in Shardplate. they could scythe through an army of FE regulars, even if they had mistings. Coinshots would be useless, as would Lurchers, and Thugs would only be useful if they can get close enough to land a hit, which is a rare occurrence against a full Shardbearer. There are thousands of mistings, but one misting is worth a fraction of a Radiant combat-wise.
  13. Non-canon playground sounds amazing. Much liek what we intended Salem to be, but it never really happened. Especially duelling between existing characters. That would be very interesting. sounds a tad complicated, but not unworkable. the mind control is too strong- the way it works in this setting is more like suggestion than full control, in most cases. the resurrection also makes her a High Epic, which we are drowning in anyway. Weaken the mind control, drop/replace the resurrection, and she can certainly find a place within not too long I think and, she would be a good contender even as-is in the OoC arena
  14. Yeah, it does seem an odd coincidence. But why actually stay for ten years? that seems like a long period of time being an actual beggar, unless of course he was trapped somehow. And if he was trapped, why not figure out how to fix it and then tell someone who could do it? And Hoid seems the type that could cause it on purpose, but only if he thought it necessary to whatever his grand plan is. He does say in the letter after all, that he would let worlds burn with tears in his eyes, but let them all the same.
  15. Its definitely a big issue, I think.
  16. Ah, but do deep sea fishermen and sailors for oceanic trade really exist in any numbers in these worlds?
  17. Maybe they were like Tardis spikes, bigger on the inside? Specially designed to hold absurd amounts of power. That said, Brandon specifically ruled it out, so I suppose it is a no.
  18. yeah I'm re-reading it too, and the clues are SO OBVIOUS "shallan says she remembers herself holding a sword, sharp enough to cut stone like water" "her secret, hiding ten heartbeats away" X2 "her secret, she could have used it" SO OBVIOUS GAH WHAT WAS WRONG WITH ME yeah I have the one on the far left- took me ages to change my mental image of shardplate and shardblades after seeing this. I always imagined them as just slightly fancier plate, and the shardblades as just fancy, thin greatswords. But no, turns out Plate is super iron-man fancy exoskeleton stuff, and blades are crazy, thick, outrageously designed monstrocities. yeah, I only recently read Warbreaker, too long after I'd read WoR, and still didn't make the connection, to Vasher or Nightblood.
  19. yeah, its an interesting idea but I don't think its necessary. We will just have to deal with the waiting, it is the nature of it
  20. those points are true, normally I'd suggest that tracking him like that would be unlikey. I mostly am just bending probability in order to allow Thunderspear to actually find Iconoclast at all. Although I could see the police being so overwhelmed by these attacks (and not normally having to do much) that they miss a few witnesses. Real-life police can be that incompetent, after all. haha thanks XD I'm sort of against the idea of new Epics entirely atm to be honest. We already have heaps.
  21. aww shucks :3 mwa ha ha ha!

  23. Corpsemaker smiled, sipping his favourite coffee, at his favourite coffeeshop. The situation was made only slightly uncomfortable for the owner of the establishment by the scores of soldiers, vehicles, and mechs waiting outside. Corpsemaker took another sip. "Mmmm... delicious." He looked towards to owner of the coffeeshop, who was sitting across from him. "I commend you for your service. This shall be your reward." He stood up, raising his voice. "This establishment is under my protection! Let it be known that any Epic or human that robs, intimidates, kills or damages the property of this fine barista will face my wrath. Two guards will remain here at all times, with orders to protect and defend this place from any who displease the owner." With that, he finished off the coffee and marched out, leaving a grateful owner and unnerved patrons behind him. Collaborate and Leech flanked the doorway as he left, following him as two toy soldiers entered for their guard duty. The three Epics briskly climbed atop Corpsemaker's command vehicle- a large tank sporting a platform and an impressive throne instead of a main cannon. The Lord of the Dominion took his position on the throne, with his retinue flanking him. Behind him was ranks of blank-faced soldiers, and a number of tanks, armoured vehicles and slick mechanized walkers. They were a truly fearsome sight. Corpsemaker took a minute to drink in the glory of his position. "Move out!" He barked, and the convoy slowly buzzed into life. Raising a radio, Corpsemaker turned it on. "Streetwise, come in Streetwise, anything to report?" Static answered him for several seconds, until... "No sir, the streets around the armoury and ahead of you are completely clear. There is a gang headquarters up ahead though- maybe a few dozen armed men and women. Its a small compound surrounded with barricades, and a tattered flag with a red bird on it. Doesn't look like there are any Epics there." Corpsemaker nodded. "Understood. Corpsemaker out." With that, he severed the connection and tucked away the radio. "Collaborate." "Yes, my lord." "There is a gang compound somewhere up ahead. Take an armoured car and some vanilla soldiers to follow you. Force them to declare allegiance to me by the time I arrive, or kill every one of them." The Epic nodded and grinned. "Yes, Corpsemaker." Just as Collaborate and some soldiers drove off, separating from the convoy, a short burst of gunfire sounded from a nearby rooftop. The bullets pinged harmlessly off of Corpsemaker's chest, some blowing holes in his throne or ricocheting off the metal platform at his feet. With a basilisk's glare, he looked at the offending rooftop, seeing a dark figure furtively duck behind the rooftop lip. He clicked, and the convoy ground to a halt, toy soldiers already moving quickly forward and firing at the aggressor. They stilled at a single gesture from Corpsemaker. "Tank #2!" He barked, and the vehicle directly behind his own swivelled its cannon, until it pointed directly at the rooftop. "Fire!" There was an immense boom and rooftop exploded. A massive cloud of dust and mortar showered the streets, and people screamed. The Lord of the Dominion waited for several seconds. "Fire!" The tank obeyed, and the building's façade disappeared in a mighty explosion. He gave the order one more time, and the entire building collapsed in on itself. Suffice it to say, but the attacker was likely dead. Corpsemaker surveyed the destruction. Such a waste. He thought ruefully. Still, they need to learn their lesson. With that thought fresh in his mind, he pointed at the building immediately next to the pile of rubble. "Fire!" The tank obeyed, and successive blasts destroyed both neighbouring buildings. The area was completely covered in dust and rubble now, powerful shots having spread debris across the street. He nodded to himself in satisfaction, and activated the megaphone attached to his vehicles. "And thus," He began, his voice menacing and loud. "Is the fate of those who think to oppose me! Not only you, but everyone around you will die!" "Move out!"
  24. yeah someone like that should work well, their hideout is just some random, normal house, abandoned and unused. The garden would still be tended though, for aesthetics sake, by vanillas. Well for most people i think it is around noon, but I'm not sure, people are all over the place. Theoretically it could be mid-afternoon or late-afternoon as well. There are no on-going interactions I believe that lock us into place, so it could be anytime of day at all. EDIT: and Corpsemaker reminds everyone that wanton shooting at him, despite his invulnerability, is unacceptable
  25. yeah they are both Corpsemaker's at the moment Hmm... nah I will keep them I think hmmm.... do you mind if you have them? I think I would rather you had them, if you are willing Weirdperson: Cool, that would be an interesting fight. Well, one thing that is important for Iconoclast's hiding is that he frequently changes his appearance- usually he keeps his gender, but within a day he could chance half a dozen times. It shouldn't be too hard to find the sites of his massacres- Corvallis Security will have secured them all by now, and can direct him to them. He attacked a street and several houses, then the fields, and then found Slaughterine's house and sent her dozen servants out to make attacks of their own. So there are about a dozen sites scattered around northern Corvallis where ghouls ran rampant, but they have all been killed now. If he goes to Slaughterine's house, which the Security would have tracked her servants to, then he will see his message on the wall, and know his name: "ICONOCLAST SAYS HELLO". Slaughterine's "body" will be in the living room, face and body ripped apart. Beyond that, he probably won't find much sign of him. He can ask residents of nearby houses if he saw anyone leave the house, and they will say that they saw people leaving the house intermittently, dressed in plain servants clothes. They scattered in all directions, looking frightened (although this is common in these troubled times). For the purposes of interesting storytelling though, perhaps he finds one witness the police missed, who described a pair of servants leave not long ago- a man and a woman he didn't recognise (odd, since he knew all of Slaughterine's servants) but the woman looked strangely like Slaughterine, although it was hard to tell, and impossible anyway, since Slaughterine is "dead" Thunderspear wouldn't reveal this info to the cops. If he continues trying to track down the couple in the direction they went, he can perhaps interview enough servants along the way that spotted the couple (well even 1 in 20 who remembered them would be enough to track them I should think) and slowly piece together their location. It would take him a number of hours though, I think. But if he is willing to do that, then he can find their hideout late at night perhaps? Then he can attack in the morning, or later in the night?
