  1. Wow, that was impressive Shadow! Although one thing- an Epic that had just been through their rending would be fully corrupted and a full sociopath. They would yawn or laugh if told they had murdered their family.
  2. And stopped trying to get herself killed. :P
  3. As long as he only turns objects into other objects in the physical realm, i see no issue. Although personally i think the objects should revert back to normal after a few hours, as in Calamity it was made clear that most creation Epics can only create temporary objects .
  4. Afaik it is indeed on the dawn that she resurrects.
  5. Yeah of course, I never found time or inspiration to do anything with them unfortunately
  6. don't know either of those two answers, sorry I'd suggest that it depends how his powers work. We don't have much precedent in the books or RP for copying Epics, so we don't know what happens when they die. Could be either. Although if the ability becomes permanent upon the victim's death, that incentivises him to just copy and murder everyEpic he can. I'm inclined to think, balance-wise, that the power would disappear.
  7. Oh no sorry to hear that What other characters do you have? Mommy can probably become an NPC or fade into the background. BusDriver could also just be NPC. Or maybe a stray missile blows up his bus and everyone on it Yeah, NPC is best for Timeport, unless someone wants to adopt him.
  8. Hmm a difficult weakness for an Epic to have. Perhaps impossible. I'm inclined to think that he would need a different weakness. Brandon said that Epics wouldn't have weaknesses that prevent them from using their powers, and a weakness like that basically prevents his Rending. What if his weakness is different, but through chance he was hit with it early in his Rending? His Rending stopped, he didn't become fully corrupt, and he has been grappling (and slowly failing) to stop the corruption ever since? He tries very hard to avoid using his powers, but he feels the need to every now and then. What if he thinks that using his powers in the dream-world "doesn't count" so he can satisfy the addiction and avoid turning evil?
  9. Corpsemaker raises money from people by threatening to kill them and their relatives, and generously donates the money to the families of his past victims
  10. /non-canon: Iconoclast secretely gifts his healing powers to the sick, terminally ill or disabled, restoring them to full health. ....and no, its not just because the handicapped make bad ghouls
  11. I'm honestly most curious as to how a dragon writes letters. What sort of dragon is he? Did he dictate it to a human servant? Can he take humanoid form? Does he ink them out with the tip of a giant claw? questions....
  12. Doctors, mechanics, engineers and other tradespeople would be pretty useful. Accountants, managers, bureaucrats, those sorts would be needed in government.
  13. yeah it'd be an interesting topic. A whole tonne of careers and skills are now entirely useless. Some professionals can certainly get jobs though, working for governmemt Epics (like Steelheart's upper class).
  14. Sounds like you want a character that is stern, humourless (but not comically so, like Arsenal), perhaps depressed or reserved Or perhaps, someone well-balanced and average, with no outstanding traits. Almost boring in a way. .
  15. Definitely! haha Vondra is very much like a male Amanda Waller XD
  16. Winterspell was quietly sitting, sipping his tea when the alarm bell rang throughout his castle. Sigh Lightwrought glanced out the window, waving away the servant that had been giving her a foot massage. "Hmm.... Looks like a few would-be intruders at the north end of the bridge. They must be Epics, or the guards would have dealt with them by now." Winterspell rolled his eyes. "More Epic intruders? They better not be sent by our friend up north. Surely he would not be so stupid as to have his Epics walk onto my bridge so openly." The 'friend' he referred to was, of course, Dragoon. Lightwrought chuckled. "Well, I'm sure you will make short work of them, my dear." Winterspell frowned and raised a radio to his face. "Get Kinesis into position to bombard these two intruders. He is too useful to be idle, legs or no legs. I also want a read on their powers from Tag immediately." With that, he walked into the wall, ice parting and reforming perfectly around him, and moved himself to the end of the bridge, remaining entirely encased and hidden within the ice of his fortress. When he reached the end of the bridge, he raised himself upwards, high than ground level, standing on a pillar of ice. "Greetings," He began, as the two Epics looked up at him. "What brings you to my domain?"
  17. Yeah amber, what about looking at an abandoned Epic you could take control of in other threads? There are a few
  18. Well, its highly possible that the Alethi word for "misogynist" has a middle section that sounds similar to "Jasnah", as well as containing equivalent prefixes and suffixes that misogynist has. For instance, let me make up an example: gescastaenf ges-casta-enf "or would that be "ges-Jasnah-enf"? highly unlikely to occur in a real-life language, but in a fictional language anything goes. Likewise with two and to. Maybe in Altethi, those words sound the same as well. "Nes, nehs and ness", perhaps. "“Wit,” Dalinar said, “do you have nes?” “Nehs what, Dalinar?” Wit said," A bit of suspension of disbelief is required, but it can work.
  19. The questions of Parshendi reproduction (and Parhsmen) is quite interesting, I think. We need to know more.
  20. Goodbye Mailliw, we'll miss you hopefully this message still catches you before you leave
  21. I would assume the return of the Elantrians has removed much of the appeal of Shu-Dereth for many people. Before the fall of Elantris, people worshipped them as gods, or at least were split in their minds as to how truthful the claims of Shu-Dereth could be when they were opposed to benevolent deities such as the elantrians. The hold that Wyrn has over his nations is also of questionable strength. Shuden says that the Jindo only accepted Shu-Dereth to stave off war, but many were beginning to question that decision. Presumably, with Elantrian political support, they could give up Dereth as their state religion and break with Wyrn. Another nation (Hrondor? Forget the name) was also stated as having not seen a priest in years, heavily implying that they barely care for the religion and would leave it should Wyrn grow too weak to intimidate them. The Duladell, having lead a popular revolution, could be stuck with Dereth for a time, but with the elantrians back.... maybe people's minds wil l change and they will turn against the priesthood.
  22. I'd caution that Salem is a bit dead at the minute, so i'm not sure how much fun roleplaying there will be. Of course, new players can always invigorate the thread
  23. I couldn't think of anything for Astoria so I put up Corpsemaker's reaction to Quota. Both mad and glad. At the end of the RP we should do flash-forwards to our surviving characters, and where they are in a post Calamity world. That'd be cool
  24. Corpsemaker and his convoy trundled down the road, which rapidly cleared in his wake. Scared, dirty faces peered from broken windows and torn curtains, while other buildings looked completely abandoned. The Lord of Portland surveyed his domain, his subjects and his army. His ears rung with his own voice, recorded and blaring his proclamation of dominance over the city. Within a few hours, the citizenry would know who their ruler was. Corpsemaker smiled smugly to himself, but gnawing doubts assailed his mind. He was a gamer, a massive fan of strategy games in particular. By seizing the majority of the map, he was making an aggressive and offensive play. In any strategy game that was a risk, but one that could pay off dividends and assure victory if he was not stretched too thinly. Was he straining his forces? The Armory was guarded, but only by a few dozen soldiers and Epics. A concerted attack there could lose him his most tactically valuable Epics, his headquarters, and his only means of replenishing his forces. But who would dare? His troops and spies were everywhere and his enemies were on the defensive. Were he in their position, he wouldn't do something so rash. But when one was in such a position of strength as Corpsemaker was- invincible, with land forces and air superiority on his side- one could afford to take risks. Hopefully, they paid off. None of these doubts were voiced, nor did any trace of them show on his face. Corpsemaker projected nothing if not smug arrogance, a confidence that he was not just winning this war- he had already won. Suddenly a wave of fear smashed into him, and his smile turned into a grimace. A smothering cloud of darkness descended onto him, and flashes of his past filled his mind. "GRRR!" He growled in pain and anger, realizing quickly that this is what Quota could do when he was Upgraded. Corpsemaker banished the images, rubbing his temples. Anger slowly gave way to satisfaction, as he considered the sheer power that had just been unleashed upon the city. And that power was his to command. Looking to his sides, he saw that his toys were, of course, unaffected, but the gangsters, humans and Epics had all been affected to some degree. Many were huddled on the ground, crying or whimpering. The convoy continued unabated, but a gesture from Corpsemaker brought it to a halt. Collaborate and Leech were also on the ground, gasping and struggling to their feet. Corpsemaker gritted his teeth- the fear still pressed down upon him, bringing back memories. Dangerous ones. "Grit your teeth and bare it, weaklings." He spat at his bodyguards. "This convoy will not be halted by your weakness. Get moving!" The convoy began again, and slowly the Epics and humans riding in the vehicles came back to their senses. Watching how they suffered, and feeling it himself, Corpsemaker smiled grimly. The entire city would be feeling this. It was far stronger than he had expected, but bearable once one recovered from the initial shock. Quota would be well rewarded for this, although he suspected that the mere act was reward enough for the Epic.
  25. Well, if a big ball of red appeared in our sly i can imagine people screaming at it.
