Good to hear! In terms of suggestions.... not really. I feel like spreading it out over a few posts so there was a bit of a build-up would be the best way to do it. I don't think it matters too much anyway.

yeah like Elodin I find him very well written although I found his decision to bring back backtrack instead of killing him a bit hasty. The trouble is I see him needing some conflict very soon, because Backtrack won't provide it on the return trip aha So you'll need to work that out with the other players and such to create conflict for him.

He could probably fit there, if Coma is ok with it.

How bout neither? He doesn't need a PI with his speed- he can dodge most attacks. Ultimately it doesn't matter how powerful he is anyway. He isn't going to get killed out of hand by anyone. And remember- this game is about collaborative story-telling, not competitive Epic-making. We want interesting and compelling characters, not just flashy and kick-butt powers, or badchull resumes. Your character should be as powerful as he needs to be for the story, and no stronger. Iconoclast is invincible because he needs to be for his function in Corvallis to work. Deathskull has a versatile ability because it makes her arena fights interesting. So answer the question- what function in what story is your character going to play? And what does he need to be able to do it? Is having a PI a necessary part of that? Would he be more or less interesting as a character with or without one? I'm not attacking you, sorry if this comes across as rude or anything I know well the draw of making cool Epics, I just think we need to rein in all the PIs and super-powerful Epics that everyone always (understandably!) wants as their character. That's true, maybe I am being too harsh

Well it helps, but the trouble with someone who can not only move super-fast, but gains bullet-time awareness and can use powerful pyrokinesis while in this state, is that you can't really fight him. You get into a fight with an Epic, for instance. You super-speed and fireball it in the face before it realises you had moved. You get ambushed by 50 armed men. You super-speed around, burning each and every one of them before they realise you had moved. You don't NEED a PI with such power. I'm just suggesting to tone it down a little, so he isn't quite so powerful.

Sounds brilliant Deathclutch! I think perhaps make him unable to use his fire powers while super-speeding as well. He is still powerful, but a bit more balanced and fight-able.

Haha a minor Epic from the Minor Epic Empire who could control threads. He sewed bodies together and used the threads to move them, but he attacked Lightwards and got eaten by an allosaurus

I picture him as Liam Neeson "I know who you are, David. I will find you, and I will kill you."

woops, wrong thread -
I'm concerned that Oracle is a bit overpowered with his super-speed/pyrokinesis combo. How can his foes even fight him? @amber: haha Zombie sounds cool but breaches both Iconoclast and mostly Lightwards' established IP

@Elodin: can he use his pyrokinesis while speeding? The fore wouldn't speed up itself so I probably guess not, but it is worth clarifying

On the subject of the discussion, I don't personally think it matters much what Mach he runs, but it does matter completely how much control the Epic has while superspeeding. And while Epic powers explicitly break physics (where does Steelheart get the energy for his energy blasts? he couldn't possibly eat enough for it. How can Obliteration hold so much heat without being destroyed himself, or interrupting his normal bodily functions? Where does Mitosis get the mass for his duplicates?) they break physics in the sense of creating or destroying energy/matter, mostly. Epic powers are consistent within themselves. If superstrength Epic A has the strength to benchpress 300kgs or less, that is his limit- he can't suddenly benchpress 500, or find it difficult to lift 100 as the story demands. Thanks, nothing personal We're just trying to help your character fit in better with the RP as it is currently established And on the subject of his powers- I think his system is a bit confusing. Nothing wrong with controlling fire, water and wind, but the whole refilling or emptying "stores" of power sort of goes against the normal way they work (as in, endless ability to use them), and it is a tad confusing.

Although, that doesn't seem very fair to me, as the Epic can't even choose to not use the power if they had the strength to do so.

But if the adopted one doesn't work, I think its fine to find a way to get rid of him and then introduce your own Epic.

Do you have any other Epics at the moment Elodin? It might be better to focus on Epics you currently have, I think.

Yeah, he could always have been simple military if you want him to have some combat skills. Plus, that is how he could know/know of Vondra. CIA is cool, but we don't know much about how they work (given that they are a spy agency) and we especially don't know how they handle their assassins. They don't even admit to having them, as far as I know. And as was pointed out, the RP is set ten years after Calamity has risen, I believe. So if you want your character to be 28, he would thus be 18 when Calamity rises.... so his career isn't going to be happening in that case anyway.

Mungo, NSW, Day 6 Katherine curled into a ball as Jetpack released the straps holding them together, sending her rolling into the ground. Soaring over her, he landed slowly and gracefully further ahead, smirking at her dust-covered and groaning form. Finally, she rose to her feet, and dusted herself off. "Was that really necessary?" She scowled at him as he chuckled. "No, but it was fun! Hahaha" "I could have died!" "Then the mission is a failure and I get to go home. Everyone wins! In fact.... why shouldn't I do that anyway? It would save me the trouble of carrying you back...." He stroked his chin and adopted a thoughtful expression. She honestly had no idea if he was joking or not. "J-just remember, uh, sir, that I technically outrank you. Wendigo would have your head if I died on this very important mission." He squinted, and thought some more. "Hmm... yeah, I guess she would. Ah well, you can keep living I suppose." Katherine breathed a sigh of relief, and looked around. All she saw was dull re and duller green, flat bushland with white-barked trees dotting the landscape. She saw what could have once been a few buildings, but they had long been reduced to rubble. She couldn't see any sign of habitation, or life whatsoever. "Well," Jetpack mused. "It certainly is warmer here than back in Icetown," Icetown was what many people had started calling their home of Wendigo. Trust an Epic to rename a town after herself, and confuse everyone who might want to say the name in general conversation. "Are you sure this is even a town? Can we leave now?" Katherine grated her teeth. Out of all Wendigo's Epics, Jetpack was by far the most annoying. "Not yet, Jetpack, we need to try to find some sign of these mercenaries. Could you perhaps, please fly around, and give us an eye from the sky? You are, after all, the most useful Epic after Wendigo." He puffed his chest out at the flattery. "Well, I suppose I can be bothered to render my aid unto a worm like you. I will take a look." With that, he adopted an Ironman pose and fire erupted from his palms and feet. Quadruple jets of intense heat and force slowly lifted him into the air, gradually picking up speed. She watched as he took off into the air, becoming tiny to her eyes as he soared into the sky.
