Random Stuff VIII: The Admin Special
Blackhoof replied to Jo and the Bush's topic in Forum Games & Random Stuff
@Cogniz: That is so cool! We are spreading mwa ha ha EDIT: Although you probably shouldn't tell Cook about this universe. Given he is a politician, he probably gets murdered by an Epic at some point, probably right after passing the Capitulation Act- 1963 replies

I don't think Epics would find that funny. They tend to have god-complexes at worst, and racial superiority-complexes at best, believing Epics to be either worthy of worship or just superior beings to humans. And in Corvallis, where nearly every vanilla was a drug-slave until 2 days ago? I doubt someone like that could exist. Now in Portland, she would have more chance to be independent of Epic rule, but she would still be murdered casually by any Epic she annoyed. We need to keep in mind how easily and casually Epics kill people. EDIT: And she could be one of the Faithful? Interestingly we haven't had any of those in this RP yet. Perhaps she believes that the Good Epics HAVE come, but she defines "good" as "not entirely sadistic and monstrous". Or perhaps she is still waiting. Mist Faithful seem to have been Christians of a sort, and believe that Epics are a test from God.

Well minor Epics tend to not have a way to defend themselves against most Astoria Epics. Corvallis would be a good place for him, power level-wise.

I don't mind the cubing power, but are they permanent? It might be op if they aren't limited in time. I also don't think the PI is necessary - he can protect himself like that without it being automatic.

I think the Immunity is unnecessary- there are enough of those Epics running around as is haha But otherwise she seems good, although the temperature auras should be weaker I think.

Well that's a valid interpretation I suppose, but imo that would be like firing a gun, and then your target deflecting the bullet wildly off course. At most, any injuries from bystanders are shared responsibility I would think. After all, it is no more the 'fault' of the deflector than it is the 'fault' of the firer.

Oh yeah, someone better realize that Arsenal is most likely the one firing missiles and pull Deathwish before Arsenal becomes a splat.

Dragoon turned to him, Jag's rage barely contained. "Now, as for you. You want me to give you a few thousand dollars worth of supplies--more, now, since Calamity's arrival--so you can take over part of my target and take some of my spoil? In what universe would I want that? I've got plenty of men, and with Blackwave and his crew, I've got more than enough help to take over the city. So," he stepped closer to Jag and tilted his head. "You want to take part of my spoil? What can you give me in return?" Jaguar bared his teeth, anger rising. Hawkwing put a hand on his shoulder, and he controlled it. Attacking Dragoon or threatening him would not end well, for any of them. No.... he needed to be diplomatic. "What can we do for you, Dragoon?" Jag forced a grotesque smile. "I have six Epics working for me- five of them are High Epics. I am super strong and tough, Hawkwing can fly, is also super strong and can come back from the dead. Smasher makes force fields, and Metalmech controls vehicles. The Aussies are a fire Epic and an earth Epic. We have much to offer you- in addition to detailed information about the powers of Astoria'a most powerful Epics. We saw them first hand, after all." "All we want in return, is some equipment and people. Then we will help you with our info, and our powers. With so many of us, we can't possibly lose. We'll crush Astoria like a skull in a jaguar's jaws." He chomped down hard to add emphasis.

Guys, I feel like Iconoclast just doesn't make sense currently, you know? I would be much more comfortable writing him if he was a mexican man named Hose Martinez. Slaughterine: So what is our next move? Iconoclast: Well, first we need to.... to... *morphs into a mexican man* Iconoclast: Hola

Well if it helps you with your character and you feel more comfortable doing that, then I think it is ok to retcon it. I play Pathfinder sometimes and the principle tat you can change your characters within the first few sessions is a good one in our campaigns- takes time to find a good character.

Well Nightwielder didn't starve to death and the implication is that he never tangible-ized, so maybe he doesn't NEED to eat? but then powers can't do that I think, like with ageing

@BrealingAmber: a question or two about Abaddon. -Is his pain creation at range ir touch? Or combination based on how powerful if an effect he is trying to achieve? -Does it affect epics at all, or just less than normal? -incorporeal- is he incorporeal all the time, or does he turn it on and off? -if all the time, then temperature immunity and sleep invulnerability are superfluous. I'd recommend removing those powers anyway, too many powers makes characters boring. Same with the pocket dimension- too many powers. Its a cool idea but just have him carry it normally.

[Calamity Spoilers] Calamity's Consequences
Blackhoof replied to TwiLyghtSansSparkles's topic in Reckoners RPG
I'd say it would be practically impossible to get the right frequency for an electricity Epic. Amd I'm not sure if it would work that way anyway. After all, the cell culture needs the current because it has no brain to fell it to use its powers- could the current merely be the equivalent of whatever electro-magnetic signals in an epic that tell its powers to activate?- 210 replies

Fair enough, that makes sense. Well other than the attacks that have already happened (and mostly been defeated it looks like) I don't know if I'll do anything more with Icon for today. Well those three no longer need to guard Converter if they noticed her exploding. So in terms of who can deal with Thunderspear, perhaps just send a squad of vanilla officers to warn him that stealing is not allowed yadda yadda and he will be arrested if he persists. Depends what the standard procedure for minor disputes like this is in Corvallis.

I liked the theory that he is autonomy, but there are so many Odium hints A big miasma of red? Red-eyed, possessed servants? willing to completely wipe out the population? These are.. really dark things. Beyond simply loving freedom so much that you are willing to let chaos and anarchy rein. That is hate. Perhaps autonomy and odium are working together, or odium corrupted autonomy somehow. And why on earth is Harmony having trouble holding trell back? He should be twice as strong as him.

Town of Wendigo, Day 5 "Of course, my queen." Katherine bowed multiple times as she exited Wendigo's imposing throne room. Turning her back as the servants closed the door, she gulped. Wendigo had given her, the Chief Administrator of Security, an important mission, perhaps the most important in the last year- find a way to kill Bushfire, that didn't involve Wendigo, her Epics, or her Snowmen. What on earth was she going to do? Mere mortals could not hope to defeat Bushfire and her raiders- surely she had Epics too. And they didn't even have any functioning vehicles, how were they going to catch them? This was.... a difficult prospect. She needed to speak to the Administrator for Intelligence immediately. ............................. "Hmm..... I'm not sure what I can do to help." Katherine's heart sank. Roger sat in his chair, lazily eating a breadstick, as he sorted through some files. The curtains were open but the window was firmly shut- there was little reason to open it unless one wanted to be snowed in. "Damnit! There has to be something! What about other cities or Epics? Can we hire mercenaries?" Roger paused in the middle of a bite. "Hmm.... actually... I do recall receiving a report about something like that." He turned to another cabinet, and began rummaging through it. After a few minutes, he pulled out a folder, and withdrew a piece of paper from that. "Here, a report of rumours of a group of Epics-for-hire. They were sighted around the ruins of Mungo- a little town in New South Wales that got destroyed by some Epic in their rending. Apparently they offer their services to anyone who will make a trade they approve of. I don't have any specifics about their powers, but their human servants seem to be unnaturally fast and strong." Katherine smiled. "Brilliant! They will do perfectly! Hopefully I can get Jetpack to give me a ride there." Roger rolled his eyes. "Good luck with that." "Haha well this mission is of vital importance, might as well try. Thanks Roger." "No problem, just let me get back to me work please." Katherine left, and prepared for her trip. Most likely, she could get a lift with Jetpack, but if not... it would be a week long venture both ways, at the very least.

Brilliant posts guys Arsenal gave me shivers, Kobold What if they had a disorder that deadened their ability to feel pain? That could work Quakezone does like alliances Well its a pretty cool and interesting city, if I do say so myself Plus easily the most powerful city (if the trio can not kill each other) in the Wastelands in terms of raw Epics and numbers. Buttercup herself could probably deal with it. Are there any other Security Epics that have been introduced that could fulfill that role? Probably more than one, to be safe.

I guess it depends how much time needs to have passed for Vandal to do what he wants. Sentry was interrupted mid-conversation by the vandalisation and that just happened, after all.
