RippleGylf she/her Posted April 11, 2016 Posted April 11, 2016 So apparently, my mom considers me an adult already. What am I supposed to make of this information?

Delightful Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Pay taxes Oh boo! The answer is clearly to eat an entire cake. 2
Orlion Blight he/him Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Oh boo! The answer is clearly to eat an entire cake. Only if you feel guilty about it after wards;)
Sunbird she/her Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Whilst reading a very sarcastic critique of the new Shadowhunters TV show, the author expressed dismay at Magnus Bane's makeup and costuming. "He looks like an emo cockatoo." I have a new favorite insult. I watch this show and need a little clarification about this post. Did you mean that the critique was written by some online personality other than Cassandra Clare, the author of the books, and it was the author of the critique who called Magnus an emo cockatoo? Or were you referring to Cassandra Clare when you referred to "the author"? I personally love how Magnus is being portrayed in the TV show. Much better than the weirdness the other version of him displayed in the City of Bones movie.
Delightful Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Is shadowhunters any good? I didn't love city of bones (the book) and I've been wondering if it's worth my time.
Sunbird she/her Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Is shadowhunters any good? I didn't love city of bones (the book) and I've been wondering if it's worth my time. I personally think the TV show is pretty awesome, but then, I'm a diehard fangirl of the books... They're not sticking strictly to the plot or order of events in the books, though, so it might be different enough that you'll enjoy it more than you did the book. Things I like about Shadowhunters: Magnus Bane is funny and charismatic and quirky, as he should be. Simon is properly adorkable, geeky, and funny. I finally know how to pronounce "stele." (It's STELL-ay) Some of the episodes I've watched recently have really tugged at my heartstrings. ("Bad Blood" and "Rise Up," specifically.)
Delightful Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I mainly didn't like how the obvious romantic interest( who is sort of a sibling ??) was kind of a jerk. Might give it a shot some time then.
DreamEternal Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 I've read the first two books and disliked them. Too much telling about the antagonist's charisma that I just couldn't see, plot twists without much foreshadowing, and no characters I've found interesting, except maybe Simon and that traitor guy who died in book 2, whose name I can't even remember anymore. Mind you, it is not horrible, but I just can't understand what the hype is about.
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 This is why Jedi usually aren't allowed to compete. Winning the World Cup... A Jedi craves not these things. Has anyone seen Cisco Ramone on the Flash do it? Hilairous.

CC had nothing to do with the review; comparing Magnus to an emo cockatoo was the reviewer's opinion.
The Invested Beard Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 HOLY FLIP WHAT IS THIS? From a movie called Shaolin Soccer. Really funny you should check it out.

This is the main reason I hate Egwene so much, she's written as having this awesome will and charisma that convinces everyone to follow it, yet to me she's still acting as the same petulant child she always was. If she'd done a Rand and threatened to murder people then I probably would have liked her more. 1

If she'd done a Rand and threatened to murder people then I probably would have liked her more. Get out of my head! The worst is that they even set her up with her own "They put me in a box" situation in Falme which makes the parallel to Rand and gave her the reasonable edge to her personality to make the threat... and yet... whiny Egwene... Anyways... This: 8
Delightful Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 The problem with reading Wheel of Time 20 years after everyone else........anyway.
The Honor Spren she/her Posted April 12, 2016 Posted April 12, 2016 Does anyone here play Minecraft? I have a free trial realm open for 14 days. Would anyone like to join it?

Jo and the Bush all/any Posted April 13, 2016 Author Posted April 13, 2016 I'd play, but I'd have to redownload Minecraft, and I don't have any room on my computer for it.

City of Ashes spoiler: They're not actually siblings. Valentine just tells them that to screw with their heads.

Valentine just tells them that to screw with their heads. Spoilers: I felt like after that, they acted as though being related was a minor annoyance. Like it wasn't a huge obstacle any more than an irritating parent telling them "No you can't date because reasons." I understand that you can't help who you fall in love with, but I felt they didn't treat the idea that they were siblings and they'd been dating with the gravity it deserved, and that was a huge turnoff for me.
Curious Anamaximder he/him Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 (edited) Alright. This is the moment. The day. 2,000 posts. I think it is pretty fair to say I'm a established member of the Shard, now. What a ride, and mostly thanks to you all Edited April 13, 2016 by Curious Anamaximder 6
Kaymyth she/her Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 There are days when I'm not sure whether Leia doesn't see the bunny in the yard, or she's just gotten so used to there being bunnies that she no longer considers them things worthy of barking at.
+Slowswift Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 You know what's awesome? Receiving a personalized tweet from Bucky Barnes is awesome. 5
Oversleep Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 Today I've seen Watchmen for the first time. After the film ended I just sat there with "whoa" in my mind.
Zathoth Posted April 13, 2016 Posted April 13, 2016 I havent seen the film, but the comic is fantastic.
