Kasimir he/him Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 When you watch one of those late-night Chinese martial arts movies, see this bloke doing cool wushu with a spear and think, nevertheless, Kaladin could totally take him with a hand tied behind his back. 2
Delightful Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 When you're procrastinating and find gems like , agree with every word, and are super excited to see super excited Sanderfans! (couple HoA spoilers) 2
Newan he/him Posted November 2, 2014 Posted November 2, 2014 When you get to try out Oculus Rift (it's a virtual reality headset for video games) and all you can think about is how awesome it would be to play Mistborn Birthright on it. Like, you could look around while you're flying through Luthadel and see all the keeps and it would just be soooo awesome! ...if Mistborn Birthright ever comes out. 3

Oudeis he/him Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 When Kaladin's flashback mentions longroots, which taste strongly of minerals, and you think, this is a perfect export to Scadrial! Get your metals in this tangy soup. 6

Steel he/him Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 When you don't have emails from other people. When your entire email account is devoted to receiving 17th Shard notification messages and the occassional TOR newsletter. When, upon reading this, think "Huh. What a good idea." and make a separate account. After upvoting it, of course. And then you think: "And this gives me an excuse to send Brandon more emails from this account, so that I'm on his newsletter!" 5
Twenty@20 he/him Posted November 3, 2014 Posted November 3, 2014 (edited) When you read Justice League and start to wonder if this is how Knight Radiants are going to be. And when Flash starts running you start thinking, "Here comes another Egdedancer". Edited November 3, 2014 by Twenty@20 3
king of nowhere Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 When you happen to see in your local library a copy of dangerous women for 13 euros, and while you have absolutely no interest for all the other stories in the antology, you seriously think about buying it just for brandon's one. which is a 40-pages short story. for 13 euros. at that price per page, it would be like paying words of radiance 300 euros (400 dollars for everyone else). And then, after pondering for a minute, you put the book down. But not for the price, only because you realize you don't like sanderson short stories nearly as much as you like the long ones. For his regular long books, I'd be totally willing to pay 30 cents per page. And I'm not so rich that I ccould afford to spend all that money without second thoughts. I hope peter never read this, or the price of books may suspiciously increase... 3
Jo and the Bush all/any Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 When you have an AP lit project which involves recreating DR. Frankenstein's notes for creating his Monster. And you throw in all the Hemalurgy References. And I mean all of them. 8
Crystin Radiant Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 When Kaladin's flashback mentions longroots, which taste strongly of minerals, and you think, this is a perfect export to Scadrial! Get your metals in this tangy soup. Sorry! I meant to hit upvote! Could someone fix this for me? 1
Twenty@20 he/him Posted November 4, 2014 Posted November 4, 2014 When you try to get your geek friends interested in Stormlight Archive by posing questions like, "What if you can change the direction of gravity at will?" or "What if you can manipulate molecular bonds?" 3
BreathTaker he/him Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 The Chouta came out really good. It's missing something, but that's to be expected the first time you soulcast something fictional in to reality... I'm stuffed. 11
Fatebreaker he/him Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 It was probably missing the complimentary one-armed Herdazian jokes... or soulcast human meat. One of the two. 6
traceria she/her Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 I The Chouta came out really good. It's missing something, but that's to be expected the first time you soulcast something fictional in to reality... I'm stuffed. If you're able to further perfect or would be interested in suggestions, definitely share that recipe! 1
Oudeis he/him Posted November 5, 2014 Posted November 5, 2014 Is Chouta a male food? Do darkborn hold as strongly to the male/female concepts for food as lighteyes do? Perhaps add something to make it spicier. 2
Kasimir he/him Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 (edited) When you (Alv) say, "There is no excuse for not reading a Sanderson book the day it comes out." Edited November 6, 2014 by Kasimir 3
Steel he/him Posted November 6, 2014 Posted November 6, 2014 When you seriously consider spiking Brandon Sanderson and then yourself with the same spike. Please don't kill me, Peter. 3
sanderfan she/her Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 When you and your sister can carry out an entire conversation about character traits/development all in terms of different Brandon Sanderson characters. For Example: Sister: What should my character be like? Me: You could make him a good leader like Kaladin. Sister: Actually, I think I'll make him a mix of Elend and Raoden, so he'll be kind of nerdy, but also a natural leader and really nice person. 4
Titan Arum Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 When, as a 30-year old adult, you tell your mother that she has to read Sanderson's novels, and instead of waiting patiently for her to take her time to get to the library, you just order her the entire Mistborn trilogy via Amazon Prime and tell her to have them finished before the end of the year so that we can theorize about Allomancy/Hemalurgy/Feruchemy at Christmas. (And she only got them all in the mail last week. She'll finish them, though. She loves reading fantasy...now if only I could get her to join the 17th Shard as well.) 7
Fallen Rope he/him Posted November 7, 2014 Posted November 7, 2014 When you realise that since watches use quartz to keep in time, they must be fabricals, and you must take your watch apart to find out how to get stormlight from batteries. I also need to brake into a watch factory to find where they get the spren from. 2
