Ink being implicated by TJ’s Obliviate was very funny. –I liked that Owl Mail revealed the Obliviate on Doc. Players submitted their messages quickly, instead of waiting until the end of the cycle, as I’d expected. I was hoping for an e/v flip where the elim could impersonate the villager to sow confusion. –It didn’t help that Extra Credit kept getting NKed (until TJ started winning it…), but after the fireworks of C2, the elims didn’t have to worry about any spells. –I like vote manip that’s unpredictable. Worst feeling as a player is being told you’re being Soothed and knowing your vote doesn’t matter. I was hoping the elims would pull off a self-targeted Stupefy gambit. –Elim voting patterns: > C1, they didn’t vote for each other either way. > In later cycles, they consistently voted -3 for the same person (Coco, then Grass, when Ink was under pressure). > Their NKs reacted to Extra Credit wagons that naturally developed; they didn’t do much to vote up someone into that spot, besides maybe Mistfallen. > Overall, they voted +3 less often than average. If you squint, there was a tendency to use +/- 1 and 2 votes for e-e interactions. –Villagers needed to both vote down their suspects and vote up who they didn’t want to be exed. C4 (and the game) was won by elims -3ing Grass and giving +s to Ink, while villagers didn’t + Grass. –Similarly, not giving out enough positive votes C5 meant the village never had a chance against the elims coordinating. Again, two elim prefects and deepwolf TJ swung things by making vote manip (and Protego) a non-issue at exlo. The elim factional spell had no impact on the game. –Balance-wise, the game felt fair. There were two 50/50 moments that swung in the elims’ favour. Mint won the coinflip over Qian, and Grass being exed over Ink was close enough that a single villager could have changed the outcome. Part of the reason the elims got a factional spell was to balance the fact that rollover was late at night for the elim team, but late-round flash wagons never came into play. Plus, the village had an extra player and I knew we had enough pinch hitters to avoid inactivity removals from the village. 6
Amanuensis he/him Posted April 6 Posted April 6 GG elims I did not in fact solve the game in one day! 2
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) It's a shame when the consensus is right but still not enough to get the vote. Through the Living Hopper He/Him Posted April 6 Posted April 6 (edited) I do feel really bad for not participating (especially after looking through the dead doc, though I deserved it). I will give a lame explanation, though. I really do love this game. The problem is that I'll have school most games, and there's no wifi at school, so I'll come home and there'll be 5 new pages, but I'm súper beat after school. I'll tell myself "that's too many, but I'll read them later" Then later comes, and there'll be 4 more. Then I'll tell myself "that's too many, I'll read them later, after all, I have all afternoon and night." Then it just piles up, and I don't vote because I don't want to vote for the wrong person. Or, like this last week, I'll do something with my family, and the sams thing will happen. So, sorry Doc, I know how much you "hate it" when I don't post I know I hate it when people do this, but I actually have felt bad and figured I owed an explanation. (Ironically, this is the longest post I've done all game) Edited April 6 by Through the Living Hopper 2
Through the living Wahr He/Him Posted April 6 Posted April 6 Now, have to say I had a lot of fun playing as an elim. Its a very diffrent experience. But seeing as how convincing TJ can be as an elim pretending to be village, I fear the day I have to play against elim TJ. The thing that suprised me the most in C5 was that none of you noticed that TJ did not Vote Ink. Really I thought at the start of C5 that you knew who the elim team was but aside from identifying Ink and me, only some of you got Mint and no one ever suspected TJ Also @Doc12 I loved your Art, you were just to Dangerous to be left alive 2

Really I thought at the start of C5 that you knew who the elim team was but aside from identifying Ink and me, only some of you got Mint and no one ever suspected TJ I did notice that, actually. And my original idea for the elim team based on that cycle was entirely correct. But I was convinced by his later posts he was village 1
The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted April 6 Posted April 6 @Archer I used a spreadsheet for voting in these games: It worked very well and could definitely be useful for a rerun of this voting mechanic. The only problem is that it looks ugly without spreadsheet coding, but it's not particularly hard to calculate even without 1
Ink and Embers Any pronouns Posted April 6 Posted April 6 THAT WAS SO MUCH FUN I am terrified if I ever have to play against TJ Also I actually was terrified of Aman and Drake. You are both very perceptive and I am scared. I genuinely believed Aman's Auror role for a large amount of C2. I thought it was really funny the reason I nearly got exed (and rightly so) was for something I didn't do I almost understood what was happening by the end! I didn't realise how public votes were going to be C1 so was relieved no one noticed I'd randomly voted +3 Wahr that cycle, oops... Thank you to the other Elims for putting up with me!!!! That was awesome!!!!! Also what was the connecting theme of the Elims that got mentioned in the dead doc? 2

|TJ| he/him Posted April 6 Posted April 6 7 hours ago, The Unknown Medallion said: Edit: Curious why @|TJ| revealed the Obliviate The idea was that it would give us 2 close-to-guaranteed MLs. Things were a bit uncertain at the time and Mint was coming under a lot of fire. I know the plan would bring me and Ink under scrutiny but I had hoped I would earn goodwill by reveal the message and use the goodwill to exe the village Prefects first. Then we'd see - either Ink would get exe'd which would give me close-to irrevocable village read ("there's no way he puts 2 elims in danger by revealing the info") and then I'd hopefully coast on Extra Credit and claiming to Protego myself for survival OR like it happened, we'd find a way to brute force it because for all intents and purposes lylo is actually a cycle earlier in this game. 5 hours ago, Doc12 said: Congratulations @|TJ| No one in the dead doc suspected you after you accurately conveyed my owl mail, hats off to you Thank youuuu! The only problem is that it looks ugly without spreadsheet coding, but it's not particularly hard to calculate even without I was messing around with google surveys for a while. It never occurred to me to just have a public editable spreadsheet. Policing edits might be difficult, but that's something to look into if we ever run it back. I think a future version would probably have voting options of +2/-1/-2/-3 only, to avoid elim coordination being so effective. Honestly the mechanic I'd most like to see repeated is penalties for being in the bottom three, rather than voting being all or nothing. Perhaps some sort of priority-based item distribution where your ability to get upgrades is improved by the amount of trust you've earned. 14 minutes ago, Frozen Mint said: you were stuck in a house with two elims More like two elims were stuck in a house with Aman. Damn TJ now I'm gonna have to treat you like doc Good job man 2
