  1. I don't think there are two elims but in the case there are, then we should get 2 favor this cycle I can take care of one. can anyone add another? I missed earlier that a 2nd rebuke causes a village death
  2. I think I may have made a wrong assumption earlier. it's possible that both the shardblade and the agreement with axies belonged to dead playeds and have now been retunlrned to the cargo hold. it would actually make a lot of sense for TUC to go for the shardblade @Archer how many rare items can be added to the cargo hold by using the ships manifest? is there a max number
  3. gosh that was dramatic. I did not expect hoid to die. I'm guessing that the elims figured they were better off risking getting the shardblade, because they were worried we'd ex them all before they could kill all of us, or get all three rebukes? I don't know why another villager would go after the shardblade when hoid said he would. which means the shardblade is now in evil hands remaining players are me, TJ, hopper, coco, star I thought TJ was the last one, but considering this shardblade gambit I'm a little worried I was wrong about that in the case there are two elims: if the elims get in two kills and we ex e!TJ, then one elim and one villager will remain standing. they'll each vote each other and then the game will go to chance if we have three villagers then ideally, one person provides favor and the other two protect fellow villagers from a kill. I think that's our best strategy. I'd argue that I'm the most confirmed villager after pushing so hard for the TUC ex, and therefore the most obvious kill target. so I'd appreciate some protection. beyond that I'm not sure honestly who the second elim would be so I guess someone can use their best judgement? an elim cannot perform a kill (either via NK or shardblade) and roleblock at the same time now I'm just trying to figure out how the elims could counteract us if we all announce our actions in thread (to make sure exactly one person gives favor and two protect fellow villagers)... I have to think on that a little more before I'm totally sure this is the best way forward. of course this is all assuming that one person who can give favor and two people who can protect another player exist in this cycle
  4. okay I don't have time to devote to the game today tbh. so I will fully admit to not reading TJ's new post with as much attention as it deserves. but since he's trying to ex me, I want to respond I feel like TJ has made a couple of strong statements this game based on small details. and they are interesting threads to pull on. but not at all definitive enough to justify strong reads this starts in C1 with the vote on wahr and then from this cycle: we're pretty late in the game. voting someone on the vibes of a single post during the current cycle makes sense C1, maybe C2. not here unless you're trying to pivot away from something is it? it might also just be an elim trying to maintain a minimum level of activity. it would also be wild for an elim who barely posts to use the little posting they do to link themselves to teammates also if we count C1, this is the second time TJ has tried to move the ex away from TUC I normally wouldn't have given so much weight to illwei's slight sense of uneasiness. but that slight sense of uneasiness was bang on with coder. so I'm going with it also @|TJ|... why? why were you immediately so sure earlier on that I was lying and TUc was village? I really hope y'all don't break the TUC train. it'd be unfortunate for the elims to sweep in with a village ex after we talled about exing TUC for days now I saw mention above of doing a TJ ex instead of a TUC one. I'm not sure how this makes sense, because in my mind e!TUC implicates e!TJ. if TUC is village, then the case for TJ being elim becomes weaker hoid can only do this if he isn't nk'ed I'm going to hopefully off for the rest of the day now bc I really should not be online
  5. okay yeah, ignore me. I forgot about that rule
  6. I do think its in our interest to have more than one villager go after the shardblade, because the elims will certainly want it also lol
  7. oh I need to rewatch MLP. it was so good its a shame that you can't find all the episodes in one place @Jo and the Bush I'm not really into fanfic and only get into it by accident, but Doctor Whooves on deviant art was surprisingly good. I didn't get to far in, but I was expecting it to be kinda cringe. Ended up being sort of excellent The fact that they made an actual character in the show be an homage. It was so wild and amazing
  8. I think it'd just be a nice thing for the iranians. it wouldn't fix anything and certainly wouldn't make up for it. its just wishing a little extra joy their way, yknow? anyways, I'd say argentina. maybe morocco. I'd also be happy with england. no logic because we are ride or die here like true sports fans lol. its just fun rooting for people. I have reasons I guess but they're personal, not objective
  9. oh that sounds very fun
  10. based on my read of the rules, I don't see why they wouldn't be. it's not that they're getting notified "your specific action didn't take effect". its that the blocker's action pretty much sends the message "I blocked you" it wasn't cleared up though. illwei dropped it in favor of focusing on other things, but you never responded to their last in-thread message about it
  11. yeah good points @Ascended Grubberfly @Stardust@Through the Living Hopper would any of you be willing to vote on TUC? I'm worried about elims manipulating votes with the VC so close
  12. wait so you're saying that you were notified that your actions were blocked, and you're also sure TUC doesn't have expertise because you got that notification? hm. okay. you did mention giving favor last cycle so that would give the elims a reason to block you. if true, it would suggest that the elims know a villager has the agreement of axies. you were the only one to offer favor so idk why they'd think the village has a chance of preventing rebuke otherwise on the other hand, you also agreed not to add any if no one else volunteered to give favor (which no one did). so it'd make more sense for the elims to not waste a key on blocking you. I don't know if they were trying to be on the safe side. in general, the backbreaker poison is the best use of keys for elims IMO because as I was typing that up I started thinking that e!TUC has nothing to lose by making that claim. he was going to get exed. I don't think that it's unlikely that this was the best defense the elims could come up with especially if e!TJ is now building on that story in thread I'm keeping my vote on him for now because I'm thinking that he really did block grub, just for evil reasons. and I don't want grub dying @Archer can we get a VC? I don't trust myself to count right now
  13. v!TUC could have blocked grub. my confusion was more around why an e!TUC would block grub (or claim to) when he knows a villager used an action to stop the NK and can contradict him why don't you believe my claim though? are you thinking that v!TUC blocked e!grub's kill, and then e!mint is fake claiming the protect?
  14. alright I'm pretty sick right now so can't really think as deeply as It'd like to on this I came on to at least get my vote in by the end of the cycle. was going to go for TUC however. I protected hoid from the kill last cycle. the elims know that a villager protected hoid, because they know that they tried to kill him (I don't buy that they didn't submit an NK, it'd be crazy not to). I don't know why e!TUC would lie about blocking grub when he knows a villager claiming protect would make his point moot you know what, TUC. maybe he's trying to buy time and get an extra village lynch in, or maybe the elims were hoping that if no one had come forward this late in the cycle, whoever saved hoid wouldn't speak up
  15. how do you feel it'll reveal information? everyone's voting on coder today, whether they're village or elim. it'd be too openly suspicious otherwise
  16. I'm not totally sure I understand your "perception of a world of a dead God" is/was (I think you mentioned it in earlier posts, but I didn't get a good grasp of it). but generally I'd be cautious though about being confident in an understanding of islam by reading the quran straight, or even an understanding of the quran itself. people flip the order ("I'll read the quran to learn about islam") but personally I think it works better the other way round there are also some practical issues of translation and knowing the context in which a certain verse was revealed. accompanying hadith (sayings of the Prophet SAW). etc. if by deceptive, you mean that it's a trick or doesn't really exist, then I don't believe that. I fully believe in heaven and hell. personally I just don't think that reward and punishment lack merit as methods of motivation, even if its not ideal as the primary motivation could you say more? not sure what you're referring to here I like writing and reading it on occasion, but tbh I'm not super into poetry in general. I also don't really think of sufi poetry in the same way of other poetry. to me its more like spiritual learning than literature
  17. it's too quiet does anyone want to post their reads? I'm struggling because I'm hardly getting a village read on anyone which is the opposite of the problem I usually have where my gut reads everyone as village I think the conversation with TUC and coder is noteworthy. I also think its noteworthy that we have a bunch of inactive players who showed up just to vote for coder (star, TJ, hopper). it feels very convenient 1. hoid: confirmed village 2. grub: reluctant village lean. I have a bad feeling to be honest. but I don't have much to back it up, the gut feel is less justified then my concerns on others, and I can't just call everyone an elim now that I'm thinking on it though, his initial uncertainty around voting coder is a little odd. feels like grub went from newbie -> good at mafia -> newbie in terms of the tone of his posts from C1 to now 3. coco: village lean? I did have a little bit of an elim lean, but I'd need to go through previous posts to figure out why. like grub, I don't think I have much justification here 4. hopper & star: grouped because my elim lean is for the same reason. they only popped in to vote codee 5. TJ: elim lean. same reason as above and also see note on TUC below 6. TUC: elim lean for the coder-TUC-illwei convo. C1 really was quiet when TUC was about to getting voted on so if TUC is elim, then I think that supports the idea that the other elims are not active in thread. and I'm going back to my theory of e!TJ saving TUC if this is the case @Hoid Slayer if you get the chance, I'm curious about your read on coco since you were thinking they might be elim. so far only one @Ascended Grubberfly has offered to provide favor for this cycle. there's a chance that there are some others who will but won't announce in thread. enmity is 3 maybe controversial, but unless at least two people publicly offer to take care of favor, I think we should just take the rebuke. I don't want one person wasting their favor and action if we're probably not going to reach 3 favor anyways I think there's a high chance that a villager grabbed Agreement with Axies the Collector from the cargo hold, but we can't know that for sure
  18. I feel like I'm reading an RP story and a real life story at the same time with this cragborn mystery
  19. a lot of what's being discussed is kind of going over my head so apologies if I'm mistakenly touching on things people haven't said. I also don't know if I'm the target audience for these points (muslim, not christian). but my personal belief with regards to suffering is that its something that is taken into account in God's judgement of a person/in the objective morality of a person (I believe that God is the source of objective morality, so to me there isn't much of a distinction here). in islam, believers' sins are forgiven whenever they experience pain, but I assume that the general point of "pain counts for something when judging someone's character" is a common view among religious people and people in general also as someone who has experienced abuse, it does not take away agency from your own person. this is maybe not true exactly in the way that a lot of people unfamiliar with abuse might believe it to be. there's a survival mode and also just... a twisting of your thought processes that mean you can't really judge the actions of someone experiencing abuse in the same way you'd judge them in a freer context. but honestly... you can still judge them. a survivor still has free will. life is just a little more complicated than a stage where we can expect everyone to make the same choices. that doesn't mean everything is moot though I fundamentally disagree that the afterlife as motivation is flawed wholesale, but this kind of reminded me of a sufi poem by Rabia Al-Barsi (RA)
  20. who do folks think the other elims are? coder is pretty much guaranteed to get axed today, but it'd be a shame if that killed discussion this cycle from my PM with her, illwei was suspicious of coder from C1 because coder told her in a PM that he heard she was a returning player. coder apparently hadn't gone through the thread yet and also wasn't that active in his PM with illwei, so it seemed like the kind of thing that would be revealed in the eilm doc. when illwei asked, coder claimed that he heard this from TUC in a PM illwei and TUC continued a conversation in last cycle's thread, after PMs closed: and then from what I can tell, the conversation died there. I'm assuming this whole thing was about coder. which makes TUC look pretty suspicious I'm also starting to think that we have a mostly inactive elim team. or at least, inactive in the thread
  21. oh that's interesting. Coder what prompted you to follow coder?
  22. it was near end of cycle because I forgot to log in earlier. I didn't like the current options so I figured it couldn't hurt to try to shift them
  23. alright well if I have to choose based on current votes, I think its more likely qian is elim than hoid. illwei @Ascended Grubberfly also not related to anything but your RP was great
  24. okay yeah I think I missed that you might not be able to. but yes, I'll add favor
  25. the game totally slipped my mind since the afternoon oof I might have missed the post where Qian said this, but two other people have already offered so we're good on that front I do find it kind of weird that Qian went from all self-preservation last cycle to barely minding that he's the primary ex target this cycle... until like five minutes ago when again he voted purely out of self preservation and again made no move to ex someone he believes is actually a ghostblood. I do think the lack of discussion after he got so many votes indicates village though. I wanted to give it a little more time to see what would happen, but then I totally forgot to check in after this morning atm I think hoid is village. TUC also. not totally confident in this, but Illwei. I feel like he's been mostly agreeable, the exception being the initial vote on TUC which he hedged: but did not change til very late. I'm also willing to vote on grub or coco I've changed my mind a bit from C1 and I do think it's useful having a set of players stating outright that they can give favor in thread. we can aim for the current amount of enmity + 1. so if you're willing to, say so, but I think villagers should stop announcing that they can't give favor. whether you do it or not is one thing, but we don't need to give the elims insight into our abilities for the round same vein, I really don't think its in our interest to announce stuff like this update: smh you guys post too fast vote count Qian (2): Hoid, TUC Hoid (3): Illwei, Qian, coco Illwei (1): Mint
