He was dimly aware of a cacophony of sounds emanating from beyond the light peeking through his curtains, but he ignored them. What was this place? What was he doing here again? Ahh, right. He was here to visit Heroshi. Of course, Heroshi didn't know that yet, but Avery didn't see the problem. He took a swig of his water and grabbed his bag before he stumbled out of the inn. "Have a good day!" Exclaimed the bartender as he left. Everyone here was so... nice. It was unnatural. As Avery navigated the crowded streets and - he thought with a shudder - the flocks of raucus children (nevermind he was a child himself), his memory began to serve him. The words of the gatekeeper came back to him. There was some sort of Festival of Heroes or other, and he had been told to go talk to... to go... there. Avery stopped before a crowded shop, nestled underneath a tower. He peered in through the windows to see rows and rows of colorful masks lining the walls. He rubbed his eyes, and rung the bell. A man came walking up. "Hello? My name is Avery, and I'm here to be your apprentice." He tried to give the man the biggest smile he could, but was interrupted by a yawn halfway and ended up giving him a weird grimace. @Amanuensis 1

Hoid Slayer He/Him Posted February 20 Posted February 20 Alright so can someone summarize to me what y'all have been yapping about for the last three pages
Through the living Wahr He/Him Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) @Hoid Slayer There was a bit of Roleplay, mostly everyone introduced there Chars Then there was the discussion about at what point in Time what Types of Mask could be acquired and the realization that the Fierce Deity Mask cannot be purchased, because there seems to be no way to get enough money And there was the discussion about how good/bad of an Idea it would be to throw L1, with exes being mandatory, we agreed that throwing L1 isnt much of a viable option and trying to solve L1 would be better than throwing L1 as loosing the easiest Loop seems like a bad Plan and the Intel (Hard Claiming 2-5 Players depending on NK amounts) isnt really worth the risk That should be everything Important the two Discussions sort of happened at the same time Edited February 20 by Wahrheitswächter

Doc12 Posted February 20 Posted February 20 (edited) Apologies everyone this game is a lot more complicated than I bargained on XD. I have not played Resistance so I had no idea how a flipless game would work, but people smarter than me have been doing math and analyzing the mechanics of the game, so that's helpful XD Conclusions I've drawn so far: 1) This loop the elims either have to throw the loop or give us a number of cleared villagers. (Proposed by first Wonko then Archer) 2) There is some discussion on how we actually throw a loop. Araris Wahr and Mistfallen are on the not planning to throw just planning to try and solve group. 3) It does not seem possible to obtain the Fierce Deity mask (Aman you tease) 4) People intend to keep the Postman's hat from me Feel like I'm spinning my wheels here but until the next day when there's a nk and exe doesn't seem like more we can discuss. ------------------------- 5 hours ago, Wonko the Sane said: FINALLY! After around a century of chores, it was time to go out and experience the Carnival. Sights, sounds, foods, fun, and, most importantly, the possibility of information about the Hero of Time and how Zymni might make her way home. She burst into the air with a twirl and zipped over to the door -- then, remembering the sunlight outside, she zipped back and tugged incessantly at Thistle's sleeve. "Come on!" she urged as Thistle *far too slowly* made their way over to the door. Then, as Thistle finally opened the door to step outside, she swirled in a loop around their face and dove into the florist's shadow, her form melting into the darkness. Colors, streamers, scents everywhere. Thistle and their shadow first went to the Post Office to drop off some letters before realizing it was annoyingly shut. Frowning, Thistle bid the five rupees for the Postman's hat. They needed their letters to be sent, and it would be nice to have an extra source of income. Along the way, they bumped into a flute player who must be one of the performers for later, a bright woman named Cindra. "Hello there!" Thistle beamed, presenting them a warm safflina. "Happy Hero's Carnival!" They passed the laundry pools to pick up some clothing. "Hullo Kieran! Happy Hero's Carnival!" For Kieren, a sundelion, to remind him of magic in the world. They passed crochety old Arenta yelling at some trespassers. "Good afternoon Arenta, happy Hero's Carnival!" Thistle privately considered presenting the woman with their namesake plant, but decided to be generous and gift her a Hyrule Herb instead. "For your aches," they smile. And now they are in the plaza, resting under a parasol so that Zymni could pop up. They shared some Goron-spiced sweet corn and cool water with sprigs of safflina. "You know, Zymni, you've never really told me about what flowers grow where you're from. You've said there's no sun, so can there be plants?" Edited February 20 by Doc12 2

While such information will be useful for analysis later on, I think in the short term it is more likely to benefit the elims knowing. Yes, they have an advantage in terms of the ability to coordinate which hats to compete for, but I reckon public coordination might do more harm in the short term. Not saying you can't, but just think twice about doing so first. There is a fun aspect to the mask though - where in a normal game, revealing that you got some sort of information from your ability can be really dangerous, in this game, having a mask, getting some info from it, and then dying means you've at the very least temporarily lost the ability and someone else could get it instead the next loop, removing some amount of the danger of sharing said information upon being revived at the new loop. Definitely will be fun to see if that comes into play. Of course, particularly through the first two loops, with limited funds and masks, and only 4 deaths, there's decent odds that no mask bearer dies in the first two loops, so we'll have to see how it goes In light of not that many people obeying this, Hey guys I’m going for FD, please no one else get in my way, thanks! wow that’s a lot of messages I thought that you get 10 extra rupees each loop? @Amanuensis? He stopped, contemplating. He used to be a mighty beast. A dragon, lord of the skies. He had a human form, of course, but those in the fairy forest didn’t like humans much. He was impartial. One day, he found a fountain much like this one, hidden deep in the forest. As he peered at the magical energy surrounding the fountain, they reeked of time. He knew one thing. Strange monuments that seemed to appear out of nowhere in the fairy forest always deserved respect. He knew this fountain was attracted by some sort of time anomaly, and whatever causes this would not be tame. Even so, he threw a coin in, and fell unconscious. He woke up in a forest, in human form. He passed himself off as a traveler, and found a nearby village. He asked about time anomalies, and they couldn’t think of anything. So he asked about fairy fountains, and they mentioned one and the same place as a festival for the ‘Hero of Time’. They also mentioned tight security. They, of course, also mentioned that it was a month away. So he started his journey, learning about the security system, and learning how the permits and everything worked. And he finally got here. The closer he had gotten, the more his natural magic sense increased. So he knew this fountain was special. Magical, even. Just like his home. He lifted his head, and it was already evening. He tossed a rupee into the fountain, and it… Bounced back? He threw 2 in, this time, and they both bounced back. He sighed, turning away. The local deity must not like me very much. He thought, shaking his head. He threw 3 in, just before walking away. Wait. They… fell in? Squircle turned around, and sure enough, there ther was. A fairy, standing over the fountain. Dragon from another world, she hummed, Thank you for visiting. Edited February 21 by CoderDrag0n8 2

This space has always been an epicenter of time distortion and all-round strangeness. I sensed you appear, but you are a much greater being then you initially came out to be. As you get closer to the danger, which most likely will involve some time distortion, more of your powers will return. The great fairy was being oddly helpful. Deities are never this helpful unless they have an ulterior motive. "What do you want? And how can you help me get home?" Squircle asked. The great fairy smiled. This danger I sense... I know not what it is, but I do no that it could be bad for my realm. I need you to stop it, or at least aid me. Much of the action will occur at the South Ward, not over here, so head there when you can. "And how will you help me?" Squircle inquired. You are from a fairy realm, yes? I can be your conduit after you break past the danger keeping you here. All you need to do is solve the danger! And then you can use me to navigate back to your world in the ensuing temporal chaos. Squircle sighed. "Alright, I'll help you. Can I have my rupees back?" The fairy sank beneath the fountain as 2 rupees sprung up from beneath the water. Another sprang back shortly after. The Unknown Medallion he/him Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Heroshi left the mask shop. He had a costume to put on. He traveled through the town until he found his nook where he kept his things. He stared at his hero's costume, hardly believing it was his. Amanuensis he/him Posted February 21 Author Posted February 21 Yeah so the 10 rupee stipend is only for the game start, you can think of it as your allowance to spend at the carnival 1

|TJ| he/him Posted February 21 Posted February 21 Hey, sorry guys. I'm quite busy right now. Looking to get into the game in about ~20 hours.
Burnt Spaghetti she/her Posted February 21 Posted February 21 "Hello there! Happy Hero's Carnival!" Cindra smiled as the florist gave her the Safflina. "Thank you! And to you as well!" The warm safflina was a pretty flower. Also super useful. Great for adding a bit of heat into cooked dishes. A thought crossed her mind though. It would also be a pretty flower to press and maybe even seal into invitations if she wanted something particularly fancy. She wondered how else she could use some flowers for the carnival. Typically she would just casually busk around the town, which is much more laid back and relaxed, this will be her first time properly performing. Though in a way its not like shes the one people would actually be watching right? Typically there are dancers and people watch those. But it wouldn't hurt to do something fancy. After another moments thought and consideration she jogged to catch up with Thistle. "Hello! Hope I'm not interrupting, but this saffina got me thinking and i was wondering if I could organise some flowers for the carnival. I was thinking maybe some sort of flower crown or if you've got something that i can decorate my flute with that would be divine. Im happy to either collect the flowers and construct the crown myself or even if I could pick it up in a day or two? I imagine flowers are best on the day picked but im sure you're super busy with preparations so if its not possible that's totally okay just let me know your rates and availability that would be amazing" she beamed. And then realised shed been talking quickly and not even given the poor florist a chance to even say hi back. @Doc12

We don’t know if the NK is a clear or not, and yes they know who is who, but they don’t know who’s gotten what masks, since they haven’t been assigned. So they can’t target power roles either. What this means Basically, out of everyone here, about 3 people have claimed a specific mask to go for. The only thing I think the NK could tell us is what mask the Elims want. Postman has been claimed a lot, and so if Me, Doc, or TUM get NKed, that indicates that someone wanted that mask and was trying to eliminate competition for it. The only problem with this is that this only applies if they NK one of three people, out of 16.

Don't make me do math again. 3 village 1st choices, 3 village 2nd choices, minus one village 1st choice = 5 choices. Versus 4 elim 1st choices, 0 2nd choices. 5v/4e for two of the masks, 6v/0e for two of the masks. coco.pudding she/they Posted February 21 Posted February 21 So what I’m understanding at the moment is we don’t really have a way of getting information right now except possibly from NK. And there’s sort of three ways that could give us information. If one of those people get killed then potentially the elims are trying to either take someone out of competition for the postman hat or take the postman hat out of the running entirely. Kind of seems like a stretch though. If someone else gets killed that really doesn’t tell us much, although maybe that ends up being an elim and they’re going for their team kill immediately. If someone doesn’t get killed…uh I’m not sure what that tells us. I guess that that’s a possibility in the first place? Also, there’s about an hour left until end of day 1 right? Anything in particular we need to get done before then?
Divergent He/Him Posted February 21 Posted February 21 5 hours ago, Araris Valerian said: Gonna continue my RP later, but I’d like to respond to this and to Archer. I think we should play the first loop as a normal flipless game would go. If the elims want to bus/NK themselves, we can’t do much about that. As a result, we need the thread to be a place where we can generate info without relying on the end of loop results. I think the best way to bring that about is to be trying to exe elims every cycle. Agreed on this. I think it'd be best that we play it like a regular game and vote people out based on whether their behaviors are indicative of being elim or not, and I feel that over time, our social reads combined with the mechanical aspect from the end of the loop results would be highly beneficial to us winning (especially that this game is essentially a marathon, and elims might eventually slip up)
