  1. This is definitely something that has been noticed. Here's an old thread that discussed it:
  2. Necroing this thread. We were chatting about the Graphic Novel on Discord, and I remembered that there were some extra faces that I noticed. And I thought, let's re-post the faces we've seen so far, since I have some screenshots here that are a bit easier to see. Page 32 (Kenton finds all the orbs) Page 52 (Kenton digs his way out of the sand). Skull more than face. Page 66 (Riding toward the trading post) Page 73 (Khriss remembering the rally at the port) Page 75 (Nearing Kezare) Page 87 (Reaching Kezare). There seem to be two faces. One to the right, and one to the left, a bit under the word Days. Page 119 (Drile assigning rooms at the Diem) Page 114 (Khriss visits the Diem for the first time) Fun stuff. I wonder what we'll see in volume 2!
  3. Off topic, but JoyBlu, I had a question for you in one of the December signing threads
  4. I think we haven't really had enough PoV from them to say what they're going to be like. The Listeners are one of the big mysteries on Roshar right now, though, so I'm looking forward to learning more about them.
  5. That was one of the likelihoods that I mentioned.
  6. Haha. Anyway, if stars in the cosmere are closer together than Earth, then they can't be THAT far apart. Some stars are so close together they're in the same constellation on the constellation chart. Anyway, as I said, I see no reason to doubt Khriss' observations.
  7. Didn't we have this discussion of how Sel totally should have orbital space stations (and telescopes)?
  8. If you know the planet is there, its easier to find, and calculate the orbit. Also, they should have pretty decent equipment by now from various worlds. Also I don't take Brandon's non-Peter astronomical guesses seriously when he tries to get specific (mini black holes )The closest planets to Earth are within 15 light years, and Earth is pretty isolated, astronomically speaking. The cosmere planets are supposedly closer than that. While the exact distances aren't to scale, the relative positions should be accurate.
  9. They're not super close, but not as distant from one another as ours are around here. All the main Cosmere novels are set in a single star cluster in a small dwarf galaxy. Also, I imagine Sel and Taldain, at least, have quite a bit of technology. Or, that Khriss and her cohorts can bring telescopes to the various worlds. Khriss knows what red shift is, after all. Both Scadrial and Roshar can also see at least some of the same constellations (Red Rip/Taln's Scar) so they can't be a huge distance apart.
  10. Mmm compounding duralumin would enable you to enhance Connection. I'm not sure how an insanely strong Connection would impact other magic systems, but I don't think it'd be insanely powerful. If someone were to burn Allomantic duralumin while trying to use a surge or similar power, the effects would be....interesting to observe. I don't think it'd do much for Breath or for using the Dor, though.
  11. Yeah, but that's just because Aon Aon is a straight line and a curved line meeting, with a dot in the middle of the hypotenuse That kind of very generic shape can be found in a LOT of things.
  12. I didn't even expect that one to get the most upvotes, so I wouldn't be super disappointed. Though I *would* like to see that debate put to rest definitively, in a way that no one can argue with
  13. Okay, I see what you mean now. I guess this is possible, but I'm uncomfortable with the assumption that the Rosharan system map is wrong, because that then throws into doubt all the system maps. And considering Khriss was able to draw Scadrial Old Orbit and Scadrial New Orbit, I feel like the maps are fairly credible. Also, Roshar is not that far (relatively speaking) from Taldain, Scadrial, Sel, and Nalthis. I feel like they could be close enough that planets and their orbits could be visible with telescopes (at this point, Taldain and Sel should be pretty far advanced, technologically).
  14. I thought there was an Oathgate at Akinah?
  15. After Elantris, I would suggest Mistborn Era 1, then Era 2, then Secret History. After those, Warbreaker, then Arcanum Unbounded. Each major novel is set on its own world, with it's own form of investiture and magic, though. And each novel is self-contained, so you won't see, say, Stormlight, playing a major factor on Elantris or Mistborn's planets.
  16. A couple points here: Brandon likely RAFO'd the questions because he was intending to put out the star charts, or because he hadn't exactly decided on the configurations yet. Similar to why he has RAFO'd the Cosmere Timeline--he doesn't want to get it wrong. Roshar doesn't have an axial tilt. However, it does rotate on its axis. With a planet as close as you are positing, you would see it transition across the sky during the night, and rise and set. The only way, really, for an object to not move in the sky at night is for it to be directly above the pole of the planet, or for it to be in a geosynchronous orbit.
  17. It's hilarious that question got the most votes But yeah, it's unlikely to be RAFO'd and it'll be nice to get confirmation. I don't mind the resurrections, but knowing that she is dead and gone as I do, I just want to put this one in particular to rest.
  18. I discussed this in my Dangers of Seeing the Future thread, if you are interested
  19. FYI, number 13 has already been RAFO'd. Don't waste a question that'll be RAFO'd!
  20. Adonalsium almost certainly had sapience. That much power, sapience would be really fast. And it created planets and ecologies. Also, Brandon's said that Adonalsium Shattered because it was killed, implying it had a sort of life.
  21. Yeah, I don't think that's what those WoBs say. Taln was carrying his Blade, and it was switched. Because the description of his Blade in Kholinar, and what arrived at the Shattered Plains is completely different.
  22. As everyone else has said, read Secret History! It's such a sneaky but good book and it will answer your question! Also, read Warbreaker before Way of Kings
  23. It's like, 90% Alethkar, though lol
