    Echo Image?

So when someone dies, if they have enough power (investiture) in them, they can become a Cognitive Shadow, which is basically the person's ghost, hanging around in the Cognitive Realm. For example, SA Spoilers. So I think the questioner was wondering if Hoid was carrying around the Cognitive Shadow of Adonalsium, or a piece of it, or some of its memories or something like that.
  2. My objection to that is that no one seems surprised or comments on her wearing actual Shardplate. Also, the Shardplate in the previous scene was an illusion.
  3. Maybe because she doesn't ever touch Shadesmar after leaving Jasnah? After that, it's learning about Pattern and how to use stormlight.
  4. So because I like summaries, I'm going to summarize why I think this is unlikely. It helps me keep my mind clear, please bear with me. Nightblood does share some small similarity to nicrosil but: We have a WoB that Vasher has only been to Roshar and Nalthis. This means he would never have gone to Scadrial to learn about nicrosil. As the One Who Connects said, The time period that Nightblood was made was pre-Catacendre on Scadrial. That means that very very very few people knew that nicrosil even existed, let alone that it had Feruchemical or Allomantic properties. It's entirely possible that only the Lord Ruler, Ati, and Leras even knew it existed. The chances of Shashara discovering the metal, let alone what it did, is slim to nil. Manufacturing nicrosil is not easy, as Calderis mentioned. I don't think any accessible planet would have had the technology to create it. Remember that Taldain was locked away, and Sel is very dangerous to get to. Those two are the oldest and farthest along, technologically speaking, during TLR's reign. Vasher, Shashara's lover/husband, who helped to create Nightblood, thinks that Nightblood is made of steel. As he's a very scholarly and meticulous type of person, we have no reason to doubt his narrative. Nightblood is now black. I'm not a chemist, but I'm unaware of any chemical process that would make nicrosil permanently black. Given all of these things, Nightblood being anything other than steel is amazingly unlikely, to the point that I have to say it's essentially impossible by any standard of plausibility.
  5. Interesting questions! I'd be careful about A1b, though, because they might consider themselves in league with Radiants, as in having similar goals, as Arclo talks about.
  6. BTW, what are your other two questions?

    Galladon

Ohh I misunderstood your question and the article. He would still have dull silvery skin, not brown. SH So yeah, he would need to be wearing some sort of illusion. It wouldn't necessarily have to be Elantrian in origin, though. We know a couple of different methods of creating illusions. Or, he could just be wearing LOTS of make up

Can you link to the Coppermind article? It sounds like there might be some confusion in it. Brandon's addressed this question.
  9. The black misty spirit was Yelig-Nar. He was hanging around waiting for someone to swallow his gemstone so he could infuse them.
  10. I don't think Taldain's fresh water is invested any more than color is invested or metals on Scadrial are invested. The fuel doesn't need to be invested. Taldain's investiture comes from the sun.
  11. We already have an answer to that one.
  12. Two others: Is the Shard correctly named Odium, or would Passion be a possible name if it had another Vessel? Does a region or culture's expectation affect their appearance? Like, Rosharans think of the Alethi as tall, dark haired, lightly tanned. Does that make it more likely they will actually look that way?

Like, Rosharans think of the Alethi as tall, dark haired, lightly tanned. Does that make it more likely they will actually look that way? Confirm that Eshonai is dead and gone Beyond.
  14. I mostly do the latter, because I'm awful at picking up text clues, but great at spotting inconsistencies!
  15. I'm answering mainly to test out this new button @Mestiv IS AMAZING!
  16. Sorry lol It happens to us all. I get my theories chewed up all the time.
  17. I'm sorry but the text and WoBs disagree with you here. Sazed clearly says that Preservation was weaker because he gave part of himself to fuel humanity's sapience. Hero of Ages Chapter 53 end epigraph. And Vin notes that she and Ruin were still perfectly balanced while Ruin was looking for the atium. So enough of Preservation's power was invested in humanity to match the missing part of Ruin. And here, Brandon confirms Harmony is one Shard now. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/190-rfantasy-ama-2013/#e4115 And here, he says that Harmony has trouble acting because of the opposing intents. https://wob.coppermind.net/events/219-words-of-radiance-philadelphia-signing/#e7791 The mists still come out because Harmony wants them to. They still Snap people, as well, I believe. Although Snapping is much gentler and easier than it was before Harmony. I think he also uses them to fuel some of his chosen agents. Wax often describes how he feels more powerful in the mists, and he survives wounds that should kill him. Almost like he's burning just a bit of Pewter.
  18. Song's question was about the UK cover, which the WoB states is Jasnah.
  19. People definitely does not always refer to humans. But in this case, I think those are separate statements. People did not go from Yolen to roshar. And Roshar was inhabited before the Shattering.
  20. Maybe the bond is the key and stormlight is the fuel?
  21. Yes but they are still not definitive enough for a lot of people that I have talked to, so I want a definite one to end the debate for good.
  22. People arent going to believe it unless he says she is dead and gone Beyond permanently. Phrasing for that desolations question could be, "how many times have the Heralds broken and allowed the Fused to return to Roshar?"
  23. Darn it where's the downvote button? (Just kidding)
  24. Please confirm that Eshonai is dead and gone Beyond, and will not be returning in any form other than as a flashback character?
