  1. Actually, he felt that it wasn't obvious enough that Jasnah wasn't dead. He never intended her to be dead, and thought it was obvious enough that she wasn't (her body disappearing) until fans got confused.
  2. That's remnants from Wyndle. His vines decay and turn into black dust after he moves on. From WoR The grain flowing out was just from her using Abrasion to reduce friction.
  3. A lot of what the Rosharans believe about the afterlife is basically myths. If you haven't read Mistborn yet, I would suggest doing that, and getting all the way through to Secret History, as that would answer some of your questions. But Elhokar's Blade appeared, he stopped glowing, and his Cryptic is bonded to someone else. He's pretty clearly permanently dead.
  4. This is how I see it too.
  5. Brandon's walked back on that. Anyone who has enough Breaths for the Commands can Awaken. Some Stormlight spoilers here, too.
  6. Mercedes Lackey, The Last Herald Mage (Magic's Pawn, Magic's Promise, Magic's Price). Warning, though, it's pretty dark.
  7. What am I looking for?
  8. The blurb is written by the Sleepless who are Dysian Aimians, of whom we've seen two samples. So "us" could refer to Aimians, Dysians, Sleepless, or even the particular Sleepless that wrote that blurb, since a single Sleepless is rather......multitudinous...
  9. We're not entirely sure of the order of events. But Odium certainly got trapped on Roshar by Honor and Cultivation before the Heralds were created, and definitely before the Radiants were created. We don't know how H&C trapped him, just that it involved both their powers somehow. Odium doesn't Invest in places, so he wouldn't have created the Fused and the Unmade before he got trapped on Roshar, So the Desolations, the Fused, the Heralds, and the Radiants (which were based on the Heralds) definitely post-dated that.
  10. This might be of use to you
  11. The answer is that we don't know. His goals are his own, and we have almost no idea what they are. I'd say his goals are going to end up far more complex than "good" or "bad".
  12. Here you go. It's the pinned post in Cosmere Discussion
  13. Here's a handy chart And good definitions https://coppermind.net/wiki/Surge
  14. Here you go!
  15. Someone else took it.
  16. I think it'd cause some fuzziness, but the Returned visions don't seem to be so detailed that it'd cause a huge amount of interference. Though a sample size of one really isn't proof of much heh.
  17. Welcome to the Shard! Brandon has said that Hoid does not hold a Shard. It's not a Shard we've seen But he would have been tempted by Endowment, implying that he didn't really have a choice in the matter. There wasn't really a pact to go their separate ways. Some thought there was an understanding, but there wasn't a formal agreement. There isn't a "Survival" Shard. There's a Shard that wants to survive, but it's only loosely related to its intent. Hoid took the bead and burned it to become a Mistborn. He did NOT take Taln's Blade. The element he refers to is the lerasium. The First Gem is a topaz, something that's been associated with Hoid for a while and had some "mystical properties." If you haven't yet, you should read Mistborn: Secret History. That should explain why Kelsier and Hoid hate each other. Also, this should go in Cosmere Discussion
  18. I'd say yes.
  19. The Splintering of Devotion and Dominion far predated the chasm earthquake.
  20. This WoB implies that they're pretty well mixed together.
  21. The Soulcasters are easily damaged by a regular sword, which means they're not the same material as a Shardblade. And the gems are interchangable. There's no place for a spren to be.
