Sorry! It's a great theory, though!

So small, Dalinar thought. Has he always looked that small?
RShara replied to Ixthos's topic in Stormlight Archive
I think it's more a matter of Dalinar's emotional and maturity perspective, not an issue of physical size or power. Dalinar realized how small and petty Hatred could be and how little he actually had to fear from it. -
How do the Parshendi utilize Gemhearts
RShara replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Stormlight Archive
Try searching for Stormlight+grow on Arcanum. -
Can I say, holy crap, that last line? Is that really Spensa? Is it a projection because she's cytonic? Can the Eyes see forward and backward in time, and used her image because they know she'll be the enemy? Is Cobb not reacting at all because he's Cobb or because only a cytonic can see the extra stuff?

White Sand Prose was never printed. It's usually available when you sign up for the Newsletter, but the recent one doesn't have the link. The one that's coming in a week or two should have it, though. Or you can contact the email address in the current email and ask for it.

I think he did that because he wanted Shallan to participate, not because he needed her to.
-
It's also "kandra" with two a's, and lowercase, if we're going for spelling accuracy here
-
Yes, I'd say they would be. They still are the same elemental composition, just with the addition of investiture. A metal detector such as we have IRL shouldn't care about its invested state, and simply detect the element.

Is it Possible to get Atium and Lerasium from Harmonium
RShara replied to SzethIsBadAsHell's topic in Mistborn
It's not possible through mechanical means. I'd imagine it takes something like Spiritual fission to get it to work. Harmonium is an element, not an alloy. An alloy of atium and lerasium would make an atium Misting. -
Taravangian was flat out lying. There's no possible way he would know just in time to tell Szeth that the Honorblade was stolen. Szeth states flat out that the missing one was stolen a long time ago, and that they still had 7.
-
Nale has his own Honorblade--he doesn't have the surge of Progression. Are you thinking of when Szeth was healed? Nale used a fabrial--the bright thing that he put away--to revive him. To back this up, Szeth states that the Shin still have 7 of the 10 Honorblades. 1 with Taln, 1 "disappeared a long time ago" (Nale's) and one given to Szeth. As for how, it's his Honorblade. The Shin might have been holding on to it, but its his. His claim would supercede theirs. I also think that the Heralds are bonded closer to their Blades than normal people would be, and that they can summon the Blades back to them at any time.

They should be written correctly in their Coppermind articles if you want to look them up. Investiture, each of the Realms, Connection, Identity, Fortune, Shard. Intent when used canonically is capitalized. When used non-canonically in reference to the name of the Shard is lowercase.

Mistborn Dice: Part Two (Pledge Manager is open to all)
RShara replied to Pagerunner's topic in Mistborn
I was lucky number 200 -
Yeah, which is why I said "probably". It's definitely not confirmed, but it makes sense to me that he'd have spikes he puts in/takes out as needed.

Questions about Lord Ruler + Ruin. Misborn Era 1 only please!
RShara replied to Rome's question in Cosmere Q&A
Rashek's pretty much only covered in Era 1. He might have some mentions in Era 2, but they're pretty vague and not particularly informative. Rashek did go to a lot of time and effort for the atium and the storage caches, and he did try to make things better. Just...his idea of better was really really really bad for a lot of people. And he still thought it was better. So...whether some of his actions redeemed him from his other actions is a judgement call for each individual to make. The koloss were made to be his shock troops. A threat to hold over everyone, and an army utterly loyal to him. That can subsist on grass. Inquisitors were like his hands--also utterly loyal/controllable yet able to function independently of him, given instructions. Because, powerful as he is, he can't be everywhere and deal with everything. The kandra were his eyes--sent to infiltrate and learn of things he wanted to know about but wasn't able to go and find for himself. He made tools to extend his reach, all of whom were incapable of disloyalty. That's worth a lot to a megalomaniacal god-ruler. -
Yep He probably does have more spikes than that one, that he uses as needed. But that's the only confirmed one, and it is confirmed to be holding his soul in that body.
-
The Bands were made by Kelsier, not by Vin or the Lord Ruler. Kelsier then went and put them up north for unknown reasons. Wax makes the mistaken assumption that the Sovereign was The Lord Ruler and wasn't contradicted at the time. But the facts match up to Kelsier, not the Lord Ruler. The spike in his eye is stapling his Cognitive Shadow to the body he's using. We don't know the exact mechanics of it, or how Kelsier figured it out/managed to get it to work, but that's the basic idea. Both of Marsh's eyes are spiked, Kelsier just has one spike. So they're not mirroring each other.

Questions about Lord Ruler + Ruin. Misborn Era 1 only please!
RShara replied to Rome's question in Cosmere Q&A
Relatively a good man, as in, he did try to save the world. But he was also a raging racist, murderer, and enabled or required really bad things. So "good" is really relative here. He gained the knowledge of how to create koloss, kandra (spelled with an a, btw), and Inquisitors during his Ascension. He offered the living Feruchemists the choice between death and being turned into mistwraiths with the eventual promise of being restored to sapience with essentially immortality later. Then he did the actual creating later, over the course of decades or centuries. The kandra weren't spies against Ruin, they were double agents. Creatures that looked like they would be easy for Ruin to control, but conditioned to rebel against him when he tried. He didn't spread Hemalurgy. It was a tightly guarded secret that no one had figured out in 1000 years. It wasn't until Marsh turned into one but managed to keep his own mind (for a while) that they discovered Hemalurgy even existed. And because of the weakness of Hemalurgy, and the Allomantic strength of TLR, he could take control of the Inquisitors at any time. So they were no threat to him. He simply didn't create ones that would rival him. Rashek wasn't exactly sane by then. But he was probably referring to hiding the atium, keeping the storage caverns stockpiled, keeping the location of the Well secret, etc. He was planning on taking the power again and fixing himself and maybe some of the planetary problems that he caused, too. -
Odium, Svarkiss, Shades of threnody and Fused
RShara replied to Aon Tia's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Ah, I see. I didn't really read it that way, myself. It reads to me more like he influenced some people, maybe used a little investiture on them, but not fully investing in any place. -
Odium, Svarkiss, Shades of threnody and Fused
RShara replied to Aon Tia's topic in Cosmere Discussion
The closest one is the second, that says he's had investiture ripped off of him. None of them say that he invested in planets in the past. Which is why I'm asking. Being active on a planet doesn't necessarily mean investing in it. -
Odium, Svarkiss, Shades of threnody and Fused
RShara replied to Aon Tia's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Can I see these WoBs? The last ones that I read say that Odium avoids Investing in planets, because he doesn't want to get stuck on them, or lessen the available power that he has. -
I talked about that earlier in the thread, actually.
