  1. ...I still have no idea what you're saying. I'm sorry. I think I'm just going to drop this whole thing at this point, though, because I think we're all talking past each other, and people are getting mad
  2. I'm still confused as to how it's relevant to how long 16% of people exposed to the mist became Allomancers?
  3. The two times he's cut through things magically, Nightblood was definitely unsheathed.
  4. I really have no idea what you're saying here in regards to the argument. Why would Leras worry about units shifting if he only changed it for a short time? No, it's not because we don't agree with them that they don't count. It's because the book is canon and WoBs are only semi canon. Until it's stated or shown in a book, it's not solid canon. Brandon has said this numerous times. The books will overrule when there's a conflict. And the books clearly state that 16% of the population became Allomancers during Era 1.
  5. Uh what? By the time Elend was around, there wasn't enough left of Leras to make that sort of change. And if it had been that short term, he wouldn't have worried about the units changing. Over years. For always. It was like that for a long time and only maybe changed after Sazed Ascended. Again, I never said it was like that for Elendel. But it was like that for Era 1. Which is the time period for this scenario.
  6. But we are talking about Era 1 Scadrial, so none of that is relevant.
  7. Well as I said, the books always overrule WoBs. 16% and thousands (pewter, steel, iron, and tin) were with Elend in Fadrex city.
  8. Elantrians are functionally immortal, and Brandon's said the Ire are really really really old. The cord is probably somehow transporting a bit of power from the Dor over to that space in order to power the tower and their projects and help sustain their powers. Pretty sure the orb was specifically designed to cause whoever used it to be able to hold Preservation's power. I don't think that a normal person hanging out in a perp would be affected by it a whole bunch, since a lot of people use the perp near the Pits. Remember that it was Preservation himself that put Kelsier there, and Kelsier wasn't really in a normal...state...at the time. Any kind of blood would keep spikes from decaying. Not sure what "it" is that you're asking about for the kandra, though? If you mean Kelsier as a Cognitive Shadow, he's not really wearing clothes, it's just the residual self image, like in the Matrix. Believing something isn't enough, though. He'd have to actually see his clothing that way. It's not really an easy thing to do. Hoid has had a lot of names. Cephandrius is one of the earlier ones. Ummm why would he use a stick for an oar? It'd be too short and small to be useful. They were easier in that it was easier to access, and might not have been a dangerous pool of liquid locked up in a secret passageway in a secure room in the palace of The Lord Ruler in the middle of the most densely populated and guarded city in the world? Hoid has a lot of things he's not supposed to. Yes, he was clearly referring to Sazed. He doesn't have to know Sazed to know of him. Kelsier plays people. That's how he rolls. No idea about the flower. The Shards are forces. Forces aren't evil, they just exist. Entropy and decay aren't necessarily bad things. Ati used to be a kind and generous man. He probably viewed Ruin as evil, so over time that's what Ati+Ruin turned into. Nope.
  9. Totally counts.
  10. 16% fell to the mistsickness everywhere Elend and Vin recruited from. We don't know what percentages became what, other than the 1/16 that became atium mistings, because Elend only figured it out in the second to last battle, and we weren't given info on who became what. However, Elend does state that he ended up with several thousand (presumably useful) Allomancers, and the metals he called for were iron, steel, pewter, and tin.
  11. Books overrule WoBs, and the books state 16% of the population exposed to the mists became Allomancers.
  12. I think it'd be really weird for the letters to significantly predate or post date the time that they were revealed. Also, how long Hoid has been on Roshar isn't really relevant. The point was the timing of the Letter, and the time the kandra has been on Roshar, indicating it's not likely for Hoid and the kandra to have met prior to that point or for the kandra currently on Roshar to have been sent specifically to meet Hoid.
  13. There're a couple threads floating around I think. and
  14. That's from last year, and DMG has been having.......problems....so I don't think there's been any movement on that. Sorry, the way you phrased it originally made me completely misunderstand what you meant. My bad!
  15. Erm. But the kandra is already on Roshar, and Hoid only just received the Letter from Harmony. Who was shocked at the correspondence.
  16. My impression of MeLaan, which is why I used "seem".
  17. Thirding wanting to know the source of that info. DMG definitely holds the rights to Stormlight, and last we heard, they hadn't gotten very far.
  18. What keeps TLR from steelrunning into the Rosharan's camps and destroying all their gemstones, then? He could do destroy them all in an hour or so without breathing hard.
  19. MeLaan doesn't really seem like she would particularly be interested in going undercover on Roshar. And her behavior in SoS and BoM doesn't really seem to indicate that she's an experienced worldhopper.
  20. Okay, agree to disagree
  21. No, she had run ahead quite a bit. And she's vastly more experienced in using and recognizing her power. I mean, even Glys felt it before Renarin
  22. I read that as she felt the power/was affected by the power before Renarin did, and that was why she was doing all those things.
  23. Hoid is (or rather was born as) genetically human, so it's very very unlikely that he would have a gemheart. And Hoid's immortality is due to the weapon used to Shatter Adonalsium, so I really doubt that any part of Adonalsium is going to be in any part of Hoid.
