  1. Here is a link to Tor's non spoiler review of Oathbringer. Enjoy.
  2. I would like to see Jasnah too, but I don't think we will until part 4 at least.
  3. Some how I knew you would reply @maxal. I think we will get a bit more of Adolin than that at the end. We shall see. Just no more in part 1
  4. Well you see Adolin doesn't need to share. Sorry, I should have considered that. To be honest, don't think Adolin will get another POV chapter for a while and put his choice in as a joke. Don't be mad Adolin fans. I love him too.
  5. This will be a short lived poll, but I want to know what you think. Will we hear from Kaladin again in part one? I think so because I don't think we will see him in part 2 at all and there was too much build up with the listeners for him to disappear for the rest of part one and all of part two. As the visual outline at the bottom of the post shows, one of the main three will not be in part 2. WoB is that we will get less Kaladin in Oathbringer, which we have already, but think this means he will be the missing POV in part 2 as well. Dalinar is going to be the POV character in all the parts. I don't think we are going to stop hearing from Shallan any time soon. So Kaladin will disappear after the thrilling cliffhanger at the end of part 1. Now I do think we are getting one more Dalinar chapter as well. So my guess it will be Dalinar followed by Kaladin, or the other way around. Now what do you think? Please let me know in the poll.
  6. Hey, I'm Evelyn Joy Basham. I prefer to be called "Joy," but in my professional life I tend to go by my first name "Evelyn." That is where my username eveorjoy comes from, referring to the fact that I answer to both "Evelyn" and "Joy." I'm an aspiring author who has written lots of unpublished work and will keep doing so until something is published. I'm a mother of an adorable son. And that is all I will say about him. I learned about Brandon through the Wheel of Time series, though I have not read Brandon's books in that series. I stopped at "Path of Daggers." I'll start the series over and finish it one day. I then heard about the video of Brandon's writing class and watched a few of them. After that I went to my local library and picked up "Warbreaker." I have been hooked on the cosmere ever since. I don't have anyone in my life who reads these books, though not for my lack of trying to introduce them to friends and family. That's why I love to come to these forums to clarify things I have misunderstood, or to have someone to geek out with over how awesome that scene is in a certain book was. I will be a bit flaky at times. With the demands of motherhood and my own writing to focus on I know I may be gone from this forum for months or even a year at a time. I will always come back to share a crazy idea, read some awesome posts, learn some interesting news, or enjoy a podcast. This is a great site and I thoroughly enjoy it. Joy
  7. I think Ash only uses a hammer on statues. So, the first picture is more correct.
  8. This did break my heart a little bit.
  9. These are the best chapters yet. I won't go in depth. I sure many of these ideas have been talked out, but here is what sticks with me after my first reading. My prediction on who had Oathbringer the book written on his behalf. I can't say he wrote it, because Dalinar can't write. Jasnah may have recorded for him though, or Navani. However, at this point I am sure we are reading Dalinar's words. Watch me be completely wrong when the chapters drop next week and we find out it is Nohadon or Amaram. I hope we get the author's signature at the end of the preface of Oathbringer next week, or I will be slightly miffed. I'm not surprised Azir is being difficult. I still think our favorite Edgedancer will make the difference there. She will either convince Azimir to listen or she will open the gate and jump through herself, letting the chips fall where they may. I felt so bad for Oathbringer the dead spren. Whimpering like it did seemed even more sad and pathetic than the screaming other shardblades do. However, I am even more hopeful now that Adolin is going to revive his shardblade. Oathbringer remembers Dalinar and even hates him less because of the things he has done and the oaths he has made. I just have a felling that Adolin's blade likes him even more and some how that connection will lead to it healing. I laughed before I read Dalinar laughing when I heard the Stormfather could send visions to anyone he wanted. We have other ways of talking to the world leaders now. Dalinar isn't going to seem so crazy when other people start seeing his vision. I don't think this will help Dalinar with Azir though. He might not know who to send the visions to and sending them to Gaux the figurehead would be pointless. Shallan's chapters were my favorite. I think I am going to love Shallan the most in this book, or at least she will tie with Kaladin. I liked her in WoR, but I still tended to prefer Kaladin's chapters. Her chapters have been the best so far in part one. Yes I know, Kaladin will likely get the climax of part 1, but just because it is the climax does not mean it will be better than anything we have gotten from Shallan. We got more Bridge 4 and they were awesome. I suspected our kandra like spren was the midnight essence from Dalinar's visions in WoK. It's not surprising some thought it could be a kandra. This midnight essence is very kandra-like. I agree with @Overlord Jebus now, that Shallan final oath will be "I am Shallan Davar" as she admits to being all of these women. Also she held her shardblade as Shallan instead of Radiant. I found that interesting. I look forward to Jebus's analysis of these chapters. So, if this is just a lead up to the climax next week, what will the final chapters be like? Two weeks to Oathbringer. Yay!
  10. Symbolic, but what it symbolizes is unclear. I do wonder if it relates to the Edgedancers' resonance.
  11. It didn't happen that way for me with WoR. I got the book at 9pm, and I live on the west coast.
  12. I will be checking my kindle app at 9pm on the 13th of Nov. WoR came out at 12 am eastern time which is 9 pm my time. I'm hoping that will happen again. Once it is loaded I will look through the artwork in part one and the end pages. I also might jump ahead to part 2 to see who is the POV that will disappear in part 2. Then I will start on the first set of interludes. The audiobook likely will not load until midnight my time on audible, as it was with WoR for me. I will be trying my darnest not to stay up and read all night. I have a little boy to get off to school the next day. I won't get my physical copy until the 15th at the signing. When I have that copy, I will either pick up where I left off on my kindle, or start over if I finish reading on the 14th, and read until Brandon shows.
  13. I will look at the art in part one, but I want to move on to the interludes during my first read through. I'm sure I will be on my second read through soon as I finish. If I start over then my second read through will be my third reading of part 1. I don't think I will want to read part 1 a third time soon after my second time. I will have this book for years while waiting for Stormlight 4. Why start over? I can read part 1 again anytime I want.
  14. She might start stealing food when she gets to Urithru, but she can be a bit non-POV character and still do that.
  15. I asked Brandon at a signing last year and he did say we would get more Lift, but it was a RAFO how much she is in the book. I'm guessing one Interlude, where she opens Azirmir's gate to Urthru with her Wyndle blade, and then bit parts after that.
  16. I guess the keyhole could make itself really small. To be honest, the best shardweapon for Lift is fork.
  17. I remembered that as well. it is good to see Nale's transformation. However, I assumed before Edgedancer that the Heralds would accept that was happening anyway. It didn't seem to me like the plot hole Brandon thought it was. It makes me wonder if the other Heralds are going to deny the desolation and Nale is going to try to convince them. Then yes, Nale arguing for the truth of the Desolation and the need of the Radiants would be a big plot hole in comparison to WoR.
  18. I had considered putting this in the Edgedancer forum, but this post is far more about Lift's role in Oathbringer and if I had put it in that board I'd need add a Tag for Oathbringer anyway. I just finished my latest reread of Edgedancer and some thoughts came to me in comparing it to what we have so far of part one of Oathbringer. First, when Prime Aqasix (Gawx) talks with Dalinar in Oathbringer and speaks of considering negotiating with the Voidbringers has Lift returned to Azimir yet? When the Everstorm came to Azir, she was in the country next door, Tashikk. She isn't as proficient in her power as Kaladin, so she is still mostly walking as opposed gliding back to Azimir. I think it is odd considering everything Lift learned in Edgedancer that the Emperor of Azir and his councilors wouldn't at least listen to Dalinar a bit more. Maybe they are ignoring her or maybe she doesn't know how to convince them to listen to Dalinar. Still, I would not be surprised if Lift's interlude begins with her walking back into Azimir. The next Thought that occurred to me was Lift's third oath. "I will listen to those who have been ignored." As of chapter 24 who in Roshar is being ignored at the worst possible time more than Dalinar? Lift might be instrumental in getting Azimir listens to Dalinar. Finally, and this an obvious one, but it is still interesting, Lift will open Azimir's Oathgate in Oathbringer. You see I don't think all of Roshar will unite, nor all the Oathgates will be available by the end of Oathbringer. But Azimir will be because Wyndle became a Shardfork. Now I think Wyndle was not shown in Edgedancer as a blade not only because a sword is not natural for Lift, but also because Wyndle's sword appearance was held back for Oathbringer. Still, Brandon wanted to get Lift her shardblade quickly so she could open that Oathgate and so gave her shardweapon to her in her novella. Those were the thoughts that came to me. Do you agree? Do you disagree? Where do you think our awesome little Edgedancer will be in Oathbringer? Will she get to Urithru by the end of the book? Will we get to see her mouthing off at Dalinar or bantering with Shallan? Tell me what you think.
  19. Only a short few comments. Chapter 22 Ialai not being friends with Mraize is a let down, but likely if I had read this chapter right after chapter 21 I would not feel this way. The week long break built my hopes up. Ialai might just be like her husband. Pity. I like some guesses here about Mraize's chicken. I agree that bird might not be from Shinovar. I wonder if Mraize, Amaram, or even Adolin will mention to Shallan that it was Kaladin who killed that Shardbearer to protect Amaram. Shallan may learn the truth a book sooner than I thought. Chapter 23 I wonder what happened with those Caravans. I also fear for Revolar. How is Kaladin going to get his stuff back without causing trouble? I have a feeling he his going to end up going to Kholinar and opening the Oathgate to get home just in the nick of time. Chapter 24 Taravangain seems to be a bit slower than average in this chapter. That is a likely ideal state for him to be in when he meets Dalinar for the first time in years. Dalinar has no idea what is going on with him. A Dustbringer! Hey wouldn't it be funny if Kelsier was that fake god-king. He's not, but it would be funny. So Dalinar is considering going back to his old ways, but his Oaths seem to make that impossible. I wonder if we will get the last flashback next week. This chapter would be a good lead in to the last Unfettered 2 flashback.
  20. I guess we will find out what is up with Mraize and Ialai tomorrow.
  21. Sorry I can't be a patron right now and no one else seems to have become one either. I did like Stormcast. Could you release the rest on YouTube prehaps?

If not I understand. Thanks for all your past Stormcasts.
