Got a haircut for the first time in over two years! I was pretty nervous leading up to it, but I must say I'm quite happy with the result!

It is, thank you! Much more manageable.

how did you SEE

...by brushing it back? If that's what you mean. If anything, I can actually see less now because it's too short to easily tie back.

Happy New Years, everyone!
It's snowing here, so here's a snowy song. Also with the 823 and Tsuki-yo. (tsuki-yo means "moonlight", so I thought it appropriate!)

Flipping through the notebook and found one I did a while back but never posted for some reason. This is probably my favorite Enya song, and yes, those are the actual lyrics. Loxian is a fictional language she and her lyricist created for a kind of hyper-futuristic Celtic society. Pretty cool stuff! (Sigur Rós did a similar thing with Hopelandic, the idea being that the song could then literally mean whatever you wanted.)
Anyways, the pen is a Pilot Custom 823, medium nib, and the ink is Iroshizuku Tsuki-yo.

Merry Christmas, everyone!
My family knows me well--two of my gifts were flags, an American and a German one.

This morning, my grandmother recruited me to put together a new sewing cabinet. An IKEA shelf this was not--it required actual ground-up assembly. I show up with an armful of tools, open the box and...it's already done?
I mean, on one hand I was relieved, but on the other, a man has a right to assemble a cabinet, and I have been deprived! (Turns out I did actually have to adjust something, so I wasn't completely useless. )

Re:seeing an anime romcom in the theater--unfortunately, I didn't make it. There weren't any times that were compatible with my work schedule, else I would've gone, three-piece suit or no.
Suzume, however, I will see come hell or high water. Makoto Shinkai's movies are some of my favorites and I am beyond excited for this one! It looks amazing~!

Do I:
- Go see the cutesy anime romcom with a friend or family member, thus outing myself as a weeb and stripping myself of all remaining dignity? or
- Go alone, appearing the very model of the lonely weeb, thus stripping myself of all remaining dignity?
I mean, I could just wait 'til it hits Crunchyroll or something. But I kinda do want to see it on the big screen...

The Quintessential Quintuplets movie.
I do of course plan to go well-groomed. I'm not that far gone. (Though, regrettably, I don't have a three-piece. If I did, I would 100% wear it.)
This is true, Kaymyth. But I feel like the challenge is more in the convincing.

If you go alone, you won't look like a lonely weeb. You'll look like someone who wants to see a movie and is perfectly confident seeing it without companionship.
It's all in the perception.

Not that it particularly needs saying, but Brandon Sanderson is an amazing writer, and The Lost Metal is an excellent book.
SpoilerThere are three things that got me misty-eyed at the end:
- Wayne's ending (the last chapter of the book). I mean, just Wayne in general this book was an emotional rollercoaster, but the last chapter especially.
- The fact that he left his estate to Allriandre.
- Wax's ending (the last chapter of the epilogue).
Also, the sheer amount of cosmere...stuff we get in this book is mind-boggling. Oh look, aethers! Oh look, Kelsier! Oh look, Shai! Oh look!...etc, etc. And here I was thinking Rhythm of War was dense. It's nuts.
Also, Steris. Just...Steris is amazing, y'all. She and Wax are 100% relationship goals.

The pen is a Schon DSGN Pocket Six with a titanium nib from Karas Kustoms, inked with Faber-Castell Garnet Red. A fun little thing about this nib is that it takes on the color of whatever ink you're using, so--while it doesn't come through in the photo very well--the whole thing has a slight reddish cast to it!
