  1. Can someone make Wax the Herald of Marksmanship with all the new firearms tech that is going to be coming into play?
  2. My question (referring to @Asininity's quote) is: How has she been "practicing" and who are her victims? Probably the same people that were in the "hospital" in Kharbranth? We haven't seen anything on Rohar like: (General Mistborn spoiler) Or have we seen them? I honestly don't know. Maybe Lopen's sense of humor is a result of an experiment gone horrible wrong? Or right?
  3. Discussing WaT with my son today and we accidentally came up with the official rock (or country) band name for books 6-10. Hopalong Kholin and the UnOathed. I thought it was funny. 'Cause he's missing a leg. Yeah, it's a Friday and I'm tired.
  4. Imagine having a timeshare AND being effectively immortal. You're never getting out of those ever-increasing maintenance payments.
  5. Possible out-of-left-field theory: The two active Bondsmiths are likely stuck in the SR. Is this where Lift bonds the Nightwatcher to get them back? The Sibling already created a room for the Nightwatcher to come visit. With all the discussions of bonding multiple spren and the other oddities that Lift seems to have, does that happen? Or, if Dalinar's visions happen in the SR, she's already shown that she can get in them AND get people out of them (taking Gawks out of the vision in OB.) It's past my bedtime so I'll probably read this tomorrow and it won't make any sense to me, either.
  6. RoW and SA5 spoilers:
  7. Just got to one of my favorite small moments in WoR. When Kaladin and Shallan come out of the chasms after the highstorm and, suddenly, Navani becomes the "Mother Axehound" toward Shallan. It reminded me a lot of my late wife. It's not a perfect analogy, but she would always take in "strays" from our kids friends. There were a bunch of kids (and even adults) in the area that just called her "Mom".
  8. The possible Lightweaving and SR effects aside, I don't think Shallan being a spy is any more contrived than Kaladin and Bridge 4 suddenly becoming bodyguards. There is some overlap, but being a bodyguard is very different from being a soldier. There is some overlap in terms of weapons skills and fighting, but ever there things are different. The mindset of thinking about threats is totally different between the two. Now, if the Lightweaving and SR effects hinted at above help Shallan with spyification, maybe the same thing is happening to Kaladin with his Ideals as a windrunner and his guardification.
  9. Hopefully better than Fort's.
  10. I'm still of the opinion that MB Era 3, "Ghostbloods", is going to heavily involve a schism in the GBs between Kelsier's Scadrian branch and the Rosharan Branch. Shallan has seen quite a bit in these two chapters to see that they aren't truly united. Maybe she realizes the Felt isn't on Iyatil's side, gets in touch with him, and joins Kelsier to help neutralize the rogue GBs on Roshare. We know that doesn't exactly happen from TLM, but I think the different factions are going to be a significant story-point going forward.
  11. One of my favorite moments in WOK is when Kaladin tricks Teft into revealing that he was a Sergeant of some sort in the military. I don't have the printed version since I listen to the audio book. Kaladin gives Teft an order to run the bridgemen through some spear forms and Teft responds with "Aye, Aye, Sir!" giving away the secret that he has trained people in them before and that he had a rank of some sort. Thus earning another Patented Teft-Glare, now available with 37% more irritation.
  12. Has it been confirmed somewhere that Sand Mastery involves a Luhel bond? Not arguing, I just haven't seen that before, but it would totally make sense. I've only done a quick search and haven't found anything. I'll search again after I get my stuff ready for church tomorrow.
  13. Or "Horneater Trilogy: Proper Unkalaki Stories For You Airsick Lowlanders."
  14. It's Ba Ado Mishram. Shallan was hearing something from BAM in those chapters. I'll need to go re-read them because I can't remember the details off the top of my head.
  15. A Dalinar of gloryspren.... Maybe corrupted shamespren are just called cringespren. Therefore ... A dad-joke of cringespren.
  16. I don't hate Lirin, exactly. I think he goes to extremes, but I understand his reasoning on most of his views and decisions even though I disagree with many of them. I also don't think he's Tanavast-in-hiding. Or Nohadan. I just think he's a good man trying to do his best with what he's been given. I do think that Nohadan isn't Tanavast, but I think that Nohadan is still alive. Maybe he was a Dawnshard at some point? Or some other highly invested being somehow. Not Hoid-level, but up there. That's just my pet theory without a whole lot of proof, but I'm sticking to it.
  17. My own pet theory, although I think it's is unlikely, is that Shallan & Co. get the gem containing BAM from the SR. They bring it back and at the moment they break it open, Rysn uses the Change Dawnshard to "Remake" BAM into what they were before being unmade. Dalinar or Navani would provide the investiture depending on where it actually happens. From the Coppermind on the Change Dawnshard. I think that BAM was a major spren of Roshar before being unmade and possibly one of the Old Gods/Dawncity spren as has been referenced in other theories. She is remade and in the process creates a second "urithiru" in one of the old dawncities giving the radiants a backup in case Urithiru takes flight or is destroyed when the Sibling is unmade or something else catastrophic happens. BAM's Connection to Roshar and the radiant spren un-deadeye the deadeyes. Yeah, it's kinda off the wall, but who knows. Matt
  18. So far, the only time they've used Division has been when they need to split the check at Maib's Place on the Purelake.
  19. Nightblood told him. It's obvious.
  20. On the Kaladin/Szeth front, if they can actually cleanse Shinovar in the time they are given AND the oathgate there still works, they could oathgate themselves back to Urithiru. That's also assuming that the enlightened oathgate spren are cooperative. ETA: I know that particular oathgate is a mystery to the outside world, but I think it's a possibility. Also, Wit said something to the effect that what Kaladin was doing in Shinovar (or on the Journey , before destination (or after Escape... someone will get it. Best album ever)) was as important to the future of Roshar as Dalinar's fight with Odium. It also may be something that is important to Wit's goals than to Roshar itself. I think Wit's final goal is something honorable, but like he said, he'd watch Roshar burn to accomplish it. Not happily, but he would.
  21. They missed out on the perfect opportunity to put Ialai Sadeas in the endpapers, just to Honor her. As she would have wished.... Apologies for putting everyone through that.
  22. I don't know exactly why, but I find that quite .... humerus.
  23. Not a lot to add, but I'm wondering if the "Ghostbloods" Mistborn Era 3 is going to heavily involve a Ghostblood Civil war between the Scadrian and Rosharan branches of the organization. Ever since I saw the difference between the way the two are run, I've thought that may be the case.
  24. Or "everyone explodes and the world loses"
  25. I'm now officially team Nohadon. Why? Makes as much sense as anything else. Is he still alive? Maybe. I think there are other WOB where he's ambiguous about the fate of Nohadon. Nohadon is a worldhopper and has been involved with things behind the scenes but actively working on behalf of Roshar. What evidence do I have of this? Nothing. But that's why he has lived so long. No evidence, just a hypothesis.
