How did the Set Manage to get so Many Gold Ferrings?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to Trusk'our's topic in Mistborn
She could have been a bloodmaker, in which case she wouldn't have needed a spike, and, in fact, may have provided a spike. Anyone want to check that? Was she killed with one of the H-F metals? (don't have the book) -
I believe that was confirmed by WoB Atium alloys supposedly have enhanced temporal and mental effects. Already possible with intent and practice.

The Sword of Harmony vs the Son of honor
IlstrawberrySeed replied to bmcclure7's topic in Cosmere Discussion
2. Wrong word. 3. "there is nothing we don't know" is still a hypothesis. 4. I already said that this was a bit of a tangent because I agree the windrunner is likely to win at 4th oath, but also put out what I thought for 0-3rd oath. -
1. Is that against the rules in a multiplayer/direct competition? (Obviously in a singleplayer/indirect competition) Is tackling, stiff-arming, or screen-dooring considered sabatoge or a part of the game? It very well be that I'm confusing olympics with game style sports - but they're called olympic sports. 2. It should take the same amount of time for the Aon to teleport you as the metals to start. However, I would expect the Scadrian to be burning before the bell, similar to how the elantrian would be about to press the aon, or a car revs their engines. If the Aonic itself was detecting the start signal and then teleport, it would also be active before hand.

The Sword of Harmony vs the Son of honor

Just answer the question If RL were suppressed or banned, and the environment was favorable and projectiles metal, do you agree with my freaking estemations? Of course, the new thoughts of Bendalloy savants change this quite a bit, as they can move at ridiculous speeds. Cadmium and Bendalloy savants can drastically effect how lashings effect them, and lashed material shouldn't deflect as much as bullets. But that shouldn't effect how this fares against oath 4, only oath 0-3. (10% or less for the windrunner if no delayed RL or preventing RLs) No assumption that any hypothesis is correct. Yours cannot be assumed true either. Their just options. Others don't agree, and all points from both points are on the table. Just answer the question. I specifically said what I think happens if my hypothesis is wrong, but you haven't (an argument could be made that your the ones assuming that hypothesis is correct). I can go on a rant about how believing and assuming are different, but I don't think it's really necessary. The quick thing is that assuming is logical (at some level) while belief has more to do when there is a lack of evidence. -
I agree Yes, and the scadrian can move AFAP w/o harm while they are moving to touch the aon. Time how long it takes you to make a fist. I get about .4 seconds. Someone moving at mach 1 can go 177 meters or 150 yards in that time. Scadrians can move much faster than mach one, assuming they don't hurt themselves or the environment. I don't know what goes into the olympics, and ball games are what I could think of that makes my point. Surely other sports suffer a similar conundrum.

Light terminology for other Shards
IlstrawberrySeed replied to lacrossedeamon's topic in Cosmere Discussion
I thought the Iridecent tones where tones of color, not tones of sound -
We have no indication that Aon Tia is literally instantaneous, and even if it is, it either requires activation, that someone moving fast enough can detect, or requires computable input, which a fast enough person can predict where your going to go. In a race Aon Tia likely wins, but if they were playing a balled sport they need to get the ball, move score, reset, repeat. Eventually the Scadrial can figure out the trigger or the pattern and be waiting for the Elantrian to teleport, holding something where they are to teleport. Aonic teleportation in sports is not an end all.
-
That is for movement, which is not always the goal. I mentioned that in one draft, must have gotten rid of it. Teleportation is not an end all, especially when a Scadrian can move something into where you are going to teleport.

Weight medallians would do nothing. You are weightless not because you have no weight but because you are being pulled in 2 directions at once at equal force. Those forces are equally effected by weight changes. It can be said of any system, but a Bendalloy Savant is incredibly powerful. Combine with steelrunning, F-necrosil, Durilum Burning/Necrobursting, and you could get a multitude of scores. Bondsmithing is the only rosharian ability for time dilation, Elantrians might have something, but no other selish magic can other than forgery, by mimicing another magic. Selish magic may be FTL speed, but is entirely predictable. Enough bendalloy and speed can interupt it's processing. Perhaps if the selish computer spent time in the nowhere, but that doesn't exist in the cosmere. No known magic can stop the raw speed Scadrial magics.

I don't have the book, but in my memory, she used her shardblade. To stab him, I mean. -
The Sovereign's Assorted Questions
IlstrawberrySeed replied to The Sovereign's topic in Cosmere Discussion
Lopen is probably cousins with him, or will be soon, he's cousins with his pet fish. Isn't it a shardblade? -
His family has some history with natural photographic memories. I think that's the the most likely myself.

The newest WoBs say anyone can burn any shardmetal (though we don't know if alloys/higher shards can, but basealloys are a mix). Older WoB mention Connection, but that isn't right anymore. We're supposedlhy told that P-Atium provides an expansive vision of the future, or a spiritual realm sight. That isn't a permaboost, so not all of them can. I highly dought endowminuim would make one have a breath by turning it into one, but it might provide some number of breaths on burning. I doubt it, since pres already has the "power gifting" (side) effect, and we know that mixing it with Autonominium can make one a sand master. (by WoB)

Reverse-compoundability updated for TLM - The Lost Metal (Mistborn Spoilers Only, No Cosmere) - 17th Shard, the Official Brandon Sanderson Fansite I don't agree with every statement in the post, but it covers partially allomancy one can store in a metalmind.
-
The short & simple is storing A-pewter's strength in a pewtermind, but getting around the muscle mass growth that even TLR had (he became buff, not oversized).
-
I would assume that lerasium alloys are actually burning a minuscule bit of pure lerasium, then the alloy. Could be wrong though, because otherwise it doesn't seem to fit with the retcon. Perhaps it has to do with %alloy, but that doesn't sound right to me.
-
It's been confirmed to have an interaction, but we don't know what.
-
Could have been durilium or advanced pewter compounding (where you store a little mussle mass while burning pewter, then you move it from one metalmind to another while burning pewter, and so on, and so on. When you need to tap it, you also fill a little mussle mass, but none of the Allomantic effect.

Why don't Leechers have a Death Touch?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
There are a few ways to categorize investiture. One is kinetic vs static vs innate. Static investiture is investiture stored inside of objects (awakening, hemalurgy, and metalminds). Lifesence (once you can sense objects) detects static investiture, while bronze detects kinetic investiture. Necrosil and Chromium effect kinetic energy the best/quickest/most efficiently, while also being able to effect innate investiture, but not to effect static investiture. While stored investiture is static, it's kinetic while being moved to/from the storage. This is why A-C/A/N/D can effect feruchemists. Chromium while filling probably wouldn't do much, just cause the metalmind to empty or (more likely) halt their filling while being leeched. Necrosil either fills at 100+% and stops their filling, or (more likly) boosts their filling to 100+% while being necrobursted. They can stop their filling, but if their filling determination they won't, so to a multi-feruchemist (either a feruchemist instead of ferring or hemalurgy) filling something semi-deadly would be deadly. @Trusk'our did I get the realmatics correct? -
Why only allomancer? IO've seen several saying anyone can burn P-Atium. Do note I did say if they created their magic systems. I tend to lean more towards more intervention/pointing than less, but definitely not all.
-
It can become smaller, and we don't know how large it can get to.
-
I believe so, if he created the magic system. If this is true, then everyone is an allomancer for at least 16 metals, mistings for at least 33, and mistborn for at least 272 metals. I think it's more likely that shardmetals are their own thing. Alloys are probably allomantic and shardmetal magic interactions, rather than 1 or the other. We never see a fuerochemist with a shardmetal on-screen or any tales of such (only SS, who only have ferrings if any fuerochemistry) so we don't know how those interact with Fuerochemistry. Hemalurgy certainly has a hemalurgic effect, but is it a property of the increased spiritual pressence of such invested material or because of hemalurgy? Again, alloys are probably an interaction between shardmetal magic and metalic arts. Usually a metal, but AFAIK there is no instance of non-crystal solid investiture. I think it's safe to say always a crystal until we learn otherwise. Why Do You Mention/How Do You Know? We have only seen Lerasium burnt, and we only saw the "side effect" of mistborning. No other pure shardmetal has been burnt AFAIK. That's the effect atium has on it's base metal alloys (though they all have spiritual effects), like how lerasium base alloys make mistings (still a side effect AFAIK). Some think that pure atium lets one see into the SR, due to a word of not-Brandon that I interpret diffrently than most people who read it. (The question is sqewed towards burning, but the answer could have otherwise reffered to the effect of H-Pure Atium.) Thinking back, if we assume shard metals are a diffrent magic system, I could see their arguments working better than if we take it as allomancy. Are you referring to it's chemical properties? If not, source? There are ways of getting around the former I can think of, though their allomantic effectiveness isn't garentied, unlike hemalurgic efficiency, so who knows. WDYM? It's not related to the Metalic Arts. Ettmetal also stores/replicates kinetic(+?) investiture. Also, TLM spoilers must be in spoiler tags.
-
We know that Creation should be their intent (the one that allows him to act like any shard can). However, due to it being 2 shards, the vessel has much more control. I wouldn't be surprised if he could have held them in harmony, if he hadn't cared about the consequences. He does, as confirmed in BoM, so he hasn't held them in harmony for very long on shardic standards. It could be beneficial to keeping original personality to alternate between potential intents.

Why don't Leechers have a Death Touch?
IlstrawberrySeed replied to Trusk'our's question in Cosmere Q&A
Filling is also kinetic, so necrobursting someone filling could kill them. Iron: probably not too damaging, depending on how secondary powers are handled in F-general. Steel: Might cause a coma (in time), or might stop the heart. Pewter: No strenght means you can't support yourself and you can't pump your heart. Your heart stops and you start to take a fall. Tin: Not likely dangerous unless it permanently damages the organ, depending on sence. (Sence of time would be interesting to see used, but SoBalance is probably most deadly) Necrosil: Might store their soul. If they unkey it, might allow for possession. Also might allow for cheaper Dakhor with compounding. (TLM Might help Kel get his powers back). Aluminum: ???? Durilium: Nondetection above that of Death? Chromium: No fortune may cause death, since For. is just seeing into the Spiritual a little, so may disconect your soul. Gold: No health means no life Electrum: No determination might stop heart Bendalloy: No energy means no life Cadmium: Death from complete suffocation Atium-Electrum: What happens if you revert your atom's into the original energy/investiture from the begining of time?
