  1. Maybe something happens in book 5 that makes sigzil a dawnshard later?
  2. His skip ability looks like the transportation surge to me... Maybe auxiliary is a elsecaller spren?
  3. I know that, but iriali are a cosmere topic right? There could be spoilers for people who haven't read specific series
  4. Ummm, why are we discussing the iriali in cosmere secret projects thread? Shouldn't this be in the cosmere discussion thread?
  5. Going to be a little cynical and say it's completely impossible to guess the next one. There is absolutely no pattern(that I can discern) here for us to divine knowledge. Some of the shards I still can't wrap my head around, like valor. I don't get valor. Virtuousity is something maybe I can understand, but never, never, never could have guessed. Just want to know how Brandon makes sense of all the 16 parts
  6. .....Crap you are right. Well there goes that cool theory( i would never have caught that)
  7. Ooooh! I had no idea about Jasnah's death being blocked out... That is super interesting. Ya I think you are right, Brandon might just start with chapter one. That will be great. If the king is hiring an assassin, is it legal to kill that assassin? Good point, I wonder why Gavilar even needs Amaram. The only thing I can think of is that Amaram is someone Gavilar can absolutely trust is not a threat, because Amaram is genuinely religious and believes in the cause. Also Amaram is an easily manipulatable idiot. Maybe that's why Gav never suspects whether szeth was sent by Amaram when he starts calling out names. The thing about aesudan being an envisager is a one para reveal. The thing about hesina prolly won't be touched on at all( but it is very wierd) We can blame venli all we want, but Axindweth the offworlder was the most important piece in Kickstarting the most important event on Roshar. That does not sit well with me. Brandon has to explain her i feel. Taravangian has no reputation for being scholarly at all tho... No matter how fast paced the actual prologue is, we will have almost a month to disect it thoroughly and figure out most of the story But SA is a ten book series and he has to save a back half worth of secrets for the back half, so how many can he actually reveal in the prologue eh?
  8. Ya, but even for the fans who know about the fact that the titles could make a palindrome but never caught the wierd detail about 'H' being a wildcard, there won't be a lot of anger over it, you know? In the end, people will want a good title more. Infact if we completely ditched the palindrome buisness, I want book 5 to be called Night of Sorrows. It would be such a coool name!! (Only if the event night of Sorrows happens in the book, of course). But Brandon seems to be interested in palindromes, so this won't happen
  9. Okay, i guess this might be a very unpopular opinion since nobody seems to be thinking about this, but pleeeease can we drop the 'T' from KOWT??? 'The' is a silent word in the the English language. It was there in tWoK because to make grammatical sense and just 'way of kings' doesn't sound as well. Grammatically it should be 'the words of radiance' and 'the rhythm of war' but Brandon did not go there. Every title(except OB) has the form x of y. He really doesn't need to add and extra word because of a missing T. All options with a t word at the end are just bulky and aesthetically very bad. Knights of woeful truth just won't have the same nice ring as RoW or WoR. That's a fact. In fact I definitely believe there is no version of KoWT that will sound good at all. Fight me. There is a better title, 'Knights of Woe' simple and good. Just drop the T. <insert 'the' social network meme> Let's give Brandon's team less of a marketing headache Infact I will be even more controversial now by suggesting we don't really need the 'W' either. Careful fans know that in vorinism 'h' is a letter used as a wild card to make palindromes. This is why 'Nohadon' , 'Pailiah', 'Honor' are considered palindromes on Roshar. What if Brandon made the title 'Knights of Honor'? It would be a great injoke for attentive fans and is way more eye-catching than other suggestions ( 'keepers of withered truths' vomits) tldr: Drop the T and the W , make it Knights of Honor Also: Did anyone notice I put 2 'the' s in a row in the first para? If you didn't, i prove my point about it being an invisible word. If you did, please rub it my face. Also I mean no disrespect to the guys who came up with the ideas, this is just something that really irks me and I just let it out after seeing the twentieth thread about KoWT.
  10. It's present day magic comes from cultivation, we know nothing about its original magic system i think
  11. Yep, that's exactly where the theory began which I then completely forgot.... Good catch!
  12. Or is the entire cognitive realm made of obsidian?( Scadrian etc)
  13. I think the moons are impossibly far away for that to work. Also we know, using stormlight is invigorating until you stop and you feel drained and exhausted. I imagine even if it's possible to reach the moon and back, the radiant will straight up die when he turns off stormlight. To put perspective on how far the moon is, you can fit the other eight planets between the earth and the moon. It's pretty far
  14. I don't think shardplate bearers can even reach the moons right now, because they are still very far away. The amount of stormlight needed would be ridiculous and practically impossible, i feel Edit: just getting into space, sure, but why?
  15. I think you are completely jumping the gun here, space age will start happening around Mistborn era 4, stormlight 6-10 takes place after era 2. It will take a long time for scadrians to reach present day tech(era 3), i think 200 years or so. And then, era 4 will happen in the future Space age cosmere will be Roshar vs scadrians, so it wont make sense for Roshar to get space travel so quickly. For space travel, you need Faster than light tech. Roshar is lightyears(heh) away from achieving that. They don't even have a radio yet
  16. I don't necessarily predict this, but what I want is more fleshing out of the 6 shards and their shardworlds that we haven't seen yet. I remember being upset that first of the sun had no shard. So my hopes are Secret book 3: shardworld of whimsy, valor something Secret book 4: shardworld of invention!
  17. @Ixthos Thanks for the great reply! I figured that would be the ans but I wasn't confident about it. I think this really confirms how wierd shadesmar is. Aren't there more technologically advanced societies in cosmere that already know this and their subastral is still flat?
  18. If I had a friend who was sailing from the west in shinovar to Natanatan in the east in the physical realm, to definitely prove that Roshar is a globe perhaps and I was chasing his life-flame representation in the cognitive realm, what would my path look like? The nerdiest answers are welcome
  19. Huh, I thought this is for the real world stuff. Oops
  20. Eating a beacon doesn't sound healthy to me, hoid is lucky he can't do that
  21. Why would people pick aluminium?? I am confused
