Hello my dear friends for the first time in a long time. I just finished Yumi: the Nightmare Painter, and I am in shambles. Literal shambles. I cannot. Keep going. In my life. Without. Sharing. With. Someone. Who. Understands.

Tears have been shed. Only two other pieces of media have ever brought me to tears before: Way of Kings and Nimona. 

I cannot with this book. My whole body has been tense for the last three hours as I've finished the sanderlanche. My body surges with emotion and sadness and happiness and shock and oh my freaking gosh what the hecc just happened.

Wow June went by FAST, stuff has been hecking busy! Also I forget to check the Shard for a week or two and I get so many notifications 

 

Was at the regional championships for a speech and debate tournament this week... and uhhhhhhmmmmmmmm... WELLLLLLLLLL, I didn't really expect to advance because I thought everyone else was better than me. Well. I made it all the way to the finals round.

I've been rereading the Stormlight Archive (first time since consuming all other cosmere content), and can I just say...

THEY ARE THE BEST - THE STORMING BEST BOOKS IN THE WORLD

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but like, bro- these are so so so beautifully crafted. I was reading them, and I was really enjoying them, and then last night (reading WoR), something snapped within me, and the enjoyment has morphed backed into an obsession.

Also I storming know I'm going to miss some people, so if you don't see your name here, please know I love literally everyone here, and you are amazing, I just happen to be functioning on about three brain cells at the moment

@AonEne you are amazing my goodness, such a good friend and really just such a cool person overall. I really look up to you in many ways, thanks for being such an awesome inspiration

@Mist another true inspiration to me, you're really fun and honestly just very smart, I know everyone jokes about you being the responsible one, but it really is true, you are so appreciated. But you're also super fun and cool outside of that too, and I've enjoyed having you as a friend 

@Chasmessian I cannot begin to describe what an amazing friend you have been to me over the past year or so, thank you, truly. From out random conversations on bagels to our deep life discussions, I have enjoyed every storming minute of it. *virtually ruffles hedgehog*

Reading this back I realize that a decent portion of this doesn't make sense and it's because I'm quite tired and the day after my shardiversery is over in about fifteen minutes, however I hope at the end of the day you all realize what amazing human beings you all are, and that I love you and every moment we've had

Well, it's been a year, and I have loved every storming moment I've been on the Shard. This is my last thank you and it is to Chaos and all of the mods. This place couldn't exist without you, I never would have met all the wonderful people I've met here if y'all didn't make this amazing place, and also keep it safe and uphold the wonderful culture it has. Thank you so so so much, you have helped so many of us so much, and my thankfulness for this place will never end

It's that time of year.... I can still hardly believe it's been an entire storming year since I joined the shard 

There are so many people I need to thank and I can't believe I have had the honor of knowing over the past year, it amazes me, however my parents are making me go to bed now, so I won't be able to tell y'all just how amazing you are until tomorrow, but in short, just know that my experience here has been amazing with every single person I've met. You are all fabulous and lovely, truly, thank you. 

I can now say I have met two sharders in my life, because I finally got a friend of mine, @Cyclonical, to join!! He's super cool and is a really good rp-er, so I will probably be directing him to FotT and Siren's Call and stuff, but I haven't kept up with the popular rps... what are the new up and coming rps right now? Also I have a feeling that Cyclonical will get me back into rp-ing to some extent if I'm not careful

But yeah, what rps have been active? And are there any other cool active threads going on we should check out too?

Last time I tried to return I made a mistake and tried to get involved in rps again... and then I left for literally three days on a camping trip and when I got back there were about fifty pages of plot I had missed, I got so overwhelmed I ghosted everyone and yeeted myself out of here again xD

This time I will not make this mistake! I am hopefully back, I finally have some free time now that summer is out and stuff, and tbh I downright miss you guys! However, I will not be participating in rps for quite some time...

Hello, friends!

I'm afraid I'm going to be taking a break from the shard for awhile. I think I'll still come on occasionally, but not regularly like I used to. I am so sorry, to all of the RP's I'm kind of abandoning, but I think this might be better for y'all than before, since I seem to always be lagging behind...

Anywho, I won't be gone completely, I'll stay pretty active on discord, and I'll come on occasionally here, I just... I'm just so stressed with everything right now, I need some time off.

Hello, friends! 

As some of you know, I have been participating in an online speech and debate tournament the last couple of days. These tournaments usually start at 7 in the morning and, alternating every hour and a half between giving speeches and participating in debates, go until about 10 at night. It has been crazy, and I hope that I am soon to the end of it. Technically, there are two more days to go, however I will only have to complete if I break (advance).

I will find out if I break in debate in about fifteen minutes, so I'm a little bit nervous about that, especially considering that I've only ever broken in debate once, and that was last year at an abbreviated tournament where half of the people who broke didn't continue competing to finals, but just got an instant invite to regionals (but then covid happened and I ended up never getting to go). So.... again, I'm nervous. If I break that'd be freaking awesome, but at the same time it would be very stressful and terrifying.

As far as speech goes, I still have two more preliminary rounds to get done today and I won't see if I'll break there until tomorrow.

So anyways.... sorry I really haven't been on much, but the last couple of days have been extremely stressful. Online tournaments are like normal tournaments but with all of the fun ripped out of them and added stress...

Apologies again for my absence, I have good news and bad news about that. The good news is that I finished two college classes and decided not to sign up for any more this semester so I could focus on highschool! Yay! This should make things way less stressful and means that I'll probably be on more! Yay! 

The bad news is that I have entered tournament season for speech and debate, and thought it was a great idea to compete seven different speeches and team policy debate this year. So.. yeah that's a bit stressful. I have the first tournament in a couple of days that I have a lot of work to do for... so yeah. During the tournament, however there usually involves lots of sitting around and waiting for events to start, and this year since it's online, I might actually end up spending a lot of time here while I wait, so I guess that's a good thing!

Anyway, props to you if you read all that - the short version is that I am less busy overall but more busy temporarily.

I have returned! I have been extremely sick since Saturday, and have almost had to go to the hospital multiple times, but I am all good! I have been too sick up until this point to do much other than sleep and read and play among us , walking from my bed to the light switch did not produce the most favorable of results, and my computer is even farther away.

I will try to get to my RPs one at a time, I am sorry it took me so long, and I will probably have to lay down soon (so I won't be here long, or at least I shouldn't be here long). I will be more active on discord probably than here because it's on my phone (I haven't been the last couple of days bc I felt too sick for any social interaction) but now I think I am getting better, so YaY!

If I say something that doesn't make any sense at all, just ignore it, it's probably because of me being sick and I get strange when I'm sick sooo..... yeah

I just got my copy of Rhythm of War, if you see me in the next couple of days, yell at me, for I should be either doing school or reading. I will return when I have finished.

I will try to respond to my RPs though just not as quickly as I would like.

Hello, dear friends! Apologies for not being on of late. With family coming in soon, I have been very busy of late, as my room will be accommodating three people instead of one for the next couple months. I need to finish my school work first, I won't let myself be distracted this time, but then later I'll get on and respond to all my stacking up RPs. I do also have some exciting news I'll probably put into the good news thread when I get off my lunch break, but until then, Arrivederci!

Things might actually take a turn for the better in my life!!!

Juggling between five electives, two college classes, all my normal high school classes, trying to self educate on philosophy, and working a part time job at Chick fil A has not been the best for my mental health.

BUT! My school's probably going back online until thanksgiving!!!!!! My life would get SO much less stressful if that happened again, and it's not like I have friends that I would miss. Everything's going to get so much better. And I'll probably get to be on the shard more again 

anyways, I've just been doing the happy dance ever since my mom told me what all the suspicious board meetings have been about, so YAY!

I'm sorry y'all, I kind of dropped off the face of the planet the last couple days, but I have returned! 

Also, my school is literally the best, I'm about to post a story in the You Won't Believe What Just Happened thread.
