  1. Hi, welcome to the Shard! How did you discover Sanderson? Have you taken the official Knights Radiant quiz?
  2. No, but it should be simple enough to find. It's when Odium first appears to Dalinar in a Vision and Dalinar responds that he now knows the enemy, Odium shows him his power: a flame that starts white, to gold, to violet that sucked in the light, emanating heated passions.
  3. How about... Spiritual DNA viruses! I don't think something could exist in the Cosmere without a Spiritual presence, so not purely Cognitive Shadows. They would be kind of like the Fused but freer and less powerful. A Shardblade should be able to affect them same as any. It feels almost like a missed opportunity. Dreamer is well-suited to being set in the Cosmere.
  4. Oh hush, you, I'm a different kind of winner!
  5. It happens because of perception I think here Brandon is confirming that the red association with Odium is mostly Corruption, while gold is probably because of how he views himself: he wears a crown & carries around a sceptre. Brandon might also have simply made a mistake here with the colors, like he did while calling Oathbringer an Honorblade We do see Odium's "true form" in Oathbringer and it was violet and gold. Voidlight is described as a violet unlight. We do see Voidlight used by the Fused, and have been told that Voidbinding is of Odium.
  6. Hehehe, Moash is absolutely one of my favourite characters in the Stormlight Archive
  7. Oh no..... this seems entirely too plausible... oh, Kaladin
  8. Hmph, let's ask the oldest questions regarding similar ideas then: Ba-Ado-Mishram was said to be Highprincess among the Voidbringers. A leader and general. The Bondsmith of the Sibling would also be in a leadership position among Honor's forces. Why would either side allow a being to be in such a high position in the chain-of-command? It doesn't make sense for the Radiants to have their home base maintained by a spren of the enemy. It doesn't make sense for Odium to allow one of his underlings to provide a homebase for his opponents either. I like the idea of the Sibling being an Adonalsium spren, or being of both Honor and Cultivation (like Feruchemy is from both Preservation and Ruin), or being an unCorrupted Dawnshard while the Corrupted ones became Unmade.
  9. Hmm I don't know, the spren also depends on the Connection of the Nahel Bond between themselves and their Radiant. Kaladin himself described the effect as feeling more like suppression not just having his Stormlight leeched. He couldn't access Stormlight, his Surges or use Syl as Shardblade. I don't think it was Investiture leeching, or weakening of Connection. I'm thinking it was Identity based. The ability to use Investiture systems is because of one's Spiritweb being altered. I think the spears that the Heavenly Ones used were simply leeching Investiture from their description. @Karger, here's a better WoB for that:
  10. Oi, what about the rest of us who like Moash as he is? Me likey Moash. Me likey Moash going face stabby-stabby. Me likey angry Moash and me likey nihilist Moash.
  11. Welcome to the Shard! *clears throat* Rhythm of Waaaaaaaaaar!
  12. Welcome to the Shard but beware of spoilers! Yeah, Way of Kings is awesome. Feel free to post reactions and/or reviews of WoK, we love that kind of stuff, though the Discord channels might be easier for that, here, I'll link them: https://discord.gg/3gKW8x (this is the 17th Shard Discord) https://discord.gg/RE9Pbw (this is the Cosmere Chat Discord): this one has channels specific to each book so you won't get spoiled
  13. Welcome to the Shard! How did you find Sanderson?
  14. Because the Elsecaller felt the need to do an investigation since something was happening and people were having trouble figuring out what The Bondsmiths might not necessarily be completely privy to the nature of the godspren, Neither the Stormfather nor the Nightwatcher have shown any signs of being affected by the Recreance, which one might assume they should have been since Melishi was part of the Recreance generation. The Stormfather also says "no, you've hurt them enough", which again implies the same thing. "One Bondsmith is in continual accompaniment of Urithiru". The Stormfather or the Nightwatcher were ultimately not vital to the functioning of the Knights Radiant, the Sibling who maintained Urithiru was.
  15. This does not "clearly establish" that, that is your interpretation. The Sibling is a "they" because they don't conform to gender identity not because they're a "tripartite being" Ba-Ado-Mishram participated in the Desolations, not just the False Desolation, she and the Sibling were separate.
  16. Swords are fine, just use a non-generic sword once in a while
  17. Thank you, thank you
  18. All 5 Scholars were Nalthian born, though they did Worldhop
  19. Not just Vivenna, Vasher's there too (and he's native too... so is Nightblood actually)
  20. I mean, it is possible to Awaken Gavilar-statue, and there currently are Awakeners on Roshar but we don't know of any magic on Roshar that could have similar effects, granted we don't know much about Voidbinding but they seem to be based on Surges too.
  21. I'd call it Malatium rather than gold, since gold is internal while Malatium is external
  22. 1) Moash talks nihilism 2) Every time someone says Shin, I think "Shin? or off-world?" 3) got the feeling that we might get more of Shallan's backstory in this book itself 4) Renarin's Illumination goes Malatium!
  23. big oof
