  1. It is learned, you need to study a lot to be able to use it, but not anyone on Sel could use it, only people from MaiPon, and Forgery only works relatively close to MaiPon. That's a limitation of all Selish magics.
  2. We don't really know, presumably it's same/similar to what we saw in Secret History, possibly that's also how spren get goods from the Physical Realm into the Cognitive Realm. I don't know if we should count what Shallan does with the beads as quite the same thing, we see Jasnah do the same in WoR. I'd say that's a function of their shared Surge.
  3. What do you mean by that?
  4. Check how on-topic it is Is it concise? Or is it needlessly obtuse? Check for grammar, spelling, typos Use words and phrases like "I think", "possibly", etc for theorising Be nice That's all, I think, enjoy!
  5. You've come to the right place!
  6. Emperor's Soul and Mistborn: Secret History are included in Arcanum Unbounded, which is a collection of short stories. Also rectify this immediately! Emperor's Soul is a fan favourite here for a reason and Secret History is no slouch either! Go get the Arcanum Unbounded!
  7. yup I highly recommend checking out all the entries in the Arcanum with "Rhythm", there's enough for a lot of theorizing
  8. Do you have a reddit account, you can tell Brandon about it yourself, or ask someone with a reddit account to do so
  9. Why'd you have to remind me of Human the Koloss, that bit made me so sad. Though Ix is more like the Shenti from Aether of Night
  10. He looks badass!
  11. I like it, but not as much as your previous drawing of Kaladin. Hmm... I think the face and body look a bit disjointed, maybe because of the lighter colouring on the right side of his face compared to the same side of his body
  12. Full Radiant, as he's Bonded a spren, an Honorspren to be exact, so he's also a Windrunner like Kaladin
  13. We don't know if you can naturally have access to two Investiture systems on Sel.
  14. No, Ralkalest is aluminium which has Investiture-resisting properties across all Cosmere
  15. The Tashikki god. The Tashikki faith is explained quite thoroughly in Edgedancer. Once again, you can just Google these answers. We have the Coppermind, which is like Wikipedia for Sanderson's works. https://coppermind.net/wiki/Tashikk Just scroll down to subheading Religion, which should be under the heading Culture.
  16. In the real world, people imagined the inhuman fey, they also imagined little fairies. Trickster spirits or demons that grant you power in exchange for your soul are also common Earth myths. It's likely just how their myths and fables evolved, except instead of fairies or demons, they had the catch-all Voidbringers.
  17. Yes, the Ryshadium Bond with Musicspren... we don't exactly understand what exactly is going on with that, but we suspect the Rhythms.
  18. We don't know what Keenspren are, that's the only mention of them so far, as far as I can tell. Some people theorize that it's the name of the Truthwatcher spren.
  19. The Nightwatcher does not give you what you ask for, she gives you what she thinks you deserve with a random curse to go along with it. Read Baxil's interlude in the Way of Kings, Av talks about the Nightwatcher and the Old Magic, how asking for a Boon and getting a Bane to go with it works and what the stories regarding the Nightwatcher get wrong about it. Besides, it wasn't the Nightwatcher who granted Lift's Boon and Bane but Cultivation herself. And as we see with Dalinar, when Cultivation appears Boon and Bane become intertwined. So we know that Lift can convert food into Stormlight but cannot inhale Stormlight how regular Radiants do, and is partially in the Cognitive somehow (can touch Wyndle, broke into the Stormfather's Visions) but we don't know what part is supposed to be the boon and what part the curse. We know what she asked for ("to never change"), we don't know what exactly she got.
  20. It's been ages since the Last Desolation, and knowledge about the Voidbringers is almost completely lost since the Recreance and the Hierocracy. It's a major plot point that no one quite knew what the Voidbringers were. They didn't remember what the Parshmen were or what happened to them. They did not know what Odium's forces comprised of, they did not even remember Odium's name. One of the depictions in-book of Voidbringers is a Chasmfiend.
  21. @Bzhydack, sorry to bother you but could you please spoiler that bit? Edit: thanks! Also, an error in choice of terminology Cosmere spoilers
  22. @Hoid the Drifter, red mark? Corruption of Investiture does manifest with its trademark red color with Soulstamps but it's in the form of red wisps at the moment of Stamping. Edit: ah, I see, I didn't get what you meant when you asked "does it leave a red mark". I just read it in a broad sense: does it leave a red (is it Corruption or since it's Corruption) mark (in the general sense, an indication of something). I didn't think you asked that literally. As we see in the story, the Grands have no idea of Realmatics or how Forgery works, besides the subdivisions within Forgery are all regarding their application and skillset, as an Investiture system all the subsets are identical. The creation of Essence Marks for Soulforging a person is not considered "regular Forgery", it's considered blasphemous. What Shai did was very exceptional, as she herself pointed out when she was presented with her task. The Arbiters would want to say it's just Flesh Forgery (the ruling Heritage faction anyway) that's what their whole plan hinged on. Again, Soulforgery is considered blasphemous. They considered Bloodsealing a lesser evil to contain Shai. To discuss spoilers, please use the spoiler box (it's the eye icon) Stormlight spoilers @Eternal Khol, Flesh Forgery is said to require extensive medical knowledge, indicating it doesn't work like standard Cosmere healing, changing the body to fit with the Cognitive and Spiritual idea, instead you have to overwrite the Spiritweb, which to me indicates Corruption. Likely, Brandon is referring to object Forgery, which is far more common ("most instances") than the other two subtypes.
  23. Wax's Savanthood might potentially be retconned but the Resonance bit hasn't, as far as I can find. This would make it the only Twinborn Resonance we've seen. As for the Knights Radiant, Windrunners seem to have people gravitate towards them and stick together as a group. It's thematically very appropriate that they have a far larger number of and more powerful Squires. Shallan's memory is her Resonance, as confirmed by Brandon multiple times, illuminating people to what they could be and inspiring people to transform into a better version of themselves can also be counted as one. The Lightweavers' ability to provide "spiritual sustenance" to people/give them a reason to live for rather than just survive is a part of the Connection that they seem to form to people as a part of the Lightweaving process, so I don't think that's a Resonance. The clairvoyance bit might also be Connection, not a Resonance. I've attached some WoBs below regarding the above-mentioned topics, in order Resonance, Connection and clairvoyance. Dalinar's stone healing in Thaylen City might be Spiritual Tension+Adhesion, as well as the ability to keep the Vision from breaking up around him under Odium's onslaught when he talked with Venli. The glowing framework ability I'm not very sure about but I think that's Tension relevant WoBs:
  24. I'd argue that'd give them access to the fuel, not the system, and they might not necessarily be able to directly use that fuel either
