  1. I got hooked, finished them in about 3 weeks flat
  2. I'd say so, yes, animals can be healed via Regrowth. Progression uses one's perception of oneself as a reference, so as long as the animal doesn't start to view itself as a cripple it should work, same as humans. As for other lifeforms that don't have enough intelligence, should still have self awareness, they'll recognize reduced functionality/loss of limb.
  3. Age is recorded in the Spiritweb (and the Physical body too, of course) but then again, so is matter composition, and if one can precipitate a change like that, including in living beings, including humans, then possibly, yeah. We don't know much about the Surge of Transformation. You might have to break into the coding of the Surge to make it work, as it seems geared towards composition.
  4. The weapon that killed Jezrien is not just mere Investiture drainage. I was aware of the second one, but that first one, do you remember the chapter where it was in?
  5. I can see by the magic mechanics of the Cosmere why Gavilar still being alive in some manner might seem viable. It certainly is plausible in-world, we've already had Szeth come back from the dead. It's narratively a mixed bag though: it certainly makes the prologues more important, but on the other hand we've already had far too many resurrections already, with Szeth and Jasnah. Thematically, I don't think it's very likely. Gavilar's focus on his legacy and being snuffed out so swiftly without being able to see the things he wanted coming to fruition and being completely overshadowed by recent events just fit so much better.
  6. The Fused must've been particularly happy with this invention, not just because of how useful it is but I suspect that in past Desolations, when Aimians fought alongside the Radiants, Larkin/Lanceryn must've been used against the Fused. But I'm also surprised to see an Investiture sucking object in Stormlight book 4. With the rarity of Larkin/Lanceryn after the Scouring of Aimia, plus Mistborn spoilers
  7. I don't think either of them wanted to be parents so soon, and in the middle of the True Desolation no less.
  8. Such a conversation will be interesting, as will a comparison of their guilts by the other characters. Moash killed Elhokar but Szeth killed Gavilar, Hanavanar and the Azish Primes.
  9. If anyone could be that inspiring, it would be him, so I could see that happening. I could also see a Bondsmith, Truthwatcher, Lightweaver or Willshaper doing it as after reading their official description. Bondsmiths bring people together; Truthwatchers don't like people in positions of power lying, which Odium is doing to the Fused, Singers & spren, as he wants to destroy Roshar; Lightweavers inspire; Willshapers are all about freedom. Venli is a Willshaper and a Singer, she was the one largely responsible for bringing the Everstorm, and she's the one Odium is using as an envoy to the Singers, so narratively and thematically, it would make sense for her to take on the role of convincing the Singers to not side with Odium.
  10. Yeah, I've always liked to frame what she does as Illuminate them, inspiring them to transform into a better version of themselves. We know that, like Dalinar, Shallan as a Lightweaver uses Spiritual Connection as well (Pattern confirms it in OB)¹ via her sketches, possibly Identity as well to see their ideal Spiritual selves. I've attached some relevant WoBs right below: As for Renarin's futuresight, I like to think of it as a Resonance: Illumination of Progression Yeah, the usage of light could indicate he finds it easier to use the fundamental components of Illumination: light I like to think of it as how the power should behave being coded into the Surge. Lightweaving uses photons/EM wave, sound wave or waveforms, plus forming Spiritual Connection to people or things which Lightweavers use by virtue of often being artists of some sort¹, plus mnemonic abilities, their resonance². So it could be that what Renarin is doing is using the fundamental pieces that make up the code of Lightweaving, the building blocks of the Surge of Illumination. We do have confirmation that different Orders can manifest their Surges a bit differently³, more specifically we also have confirmation that Truthwatchers use Lightweaving a bit differently⁴: 1: from Chapter 120 The Spear That Would Not Break 2: WoBs 3: WoBs 4: WoB
  11. I think you made a mistake here? We don't know enough about Bloodsealing to say that. In Emperor's Soul, we see it being used to command Skeletals and seal people in a room by putting a seal on the door with their blood as ink.
  12. It got moved from being a subforum under Stormlight Archives to an entire forum area, it's above the Cosmere section and below the Brandon Sanderson section https://www.17thshard.com/forum/forum/101-rhythm-of-war-and-dawnshard-spoiler-area/
  13. No problem and welcome to the Shard 10 is a holy number in Vorinism, it's likely just that
  14. The Silver Kingdoms weren't specialized like that. Shinovar was where humans were supposed to live when they came to Roshar, Alethela was "watcher at the rim", with traditions of warfare to be prepared for the Desolations. It happened organically, with time After leaving Urithiru many Radiants settled in Alethela, not just the Windrunners, though there was a large group of them that settled there, giving the Windrunner River it's name.
  15. We don't see a futuristic... building? Spaceship? in the middle of a sandy desert anywhere in OB, or anywhere in Stormlight. The WoK ones could be the Shattered Plains with some artistic liberty, the second part of WoR + first part of OB could be Urithiru with a lot of artistic liberty. I don't know about the first part of WoR though. Doesn't matter, the German covers haven't been very faithful with the source material
  16. Looks good! Unfortunately Dark One isn't currently available in my region
  17. Khriss suspects that Adonalsium was an individual (Secret History)
  18. Like all Selish magics, you need a Connection to the homeland in order to be able to use it, in this case Dzhamar. Shai does note that Bloodsealers come from there and notes the ethnic group's distinct physical features as well as their fraught relationship with their neighbours. No, not all Dzhamarians are Bloodsealers, just like not all MaiPonese are Forgers or all Arelish are Elantrian. The Coppermind is a useful resource for these types of queries: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Bloodsealing
  19. It's not magically enforced, it's culturally ingrained in Shin culture, obeying the carrier of one's oathstone is part of being branded a Truthless, it seems.
  20. A Godmetal but not of Harmony, as confirmed in-book by Harmony in The Bands of Mourning, beyond that we don't have any solid confirmation, only theories. Most people think it's Autonomy or one of her Avatars
  21. Yes, all Forgery require soulstamps: Flesh Forgery (ReSealing) or Soul Forgery or Remembering & object forgery Please use the Coppermind for these queries: https://coppermind.net/wiki/Forgery
  22. I don't remember this scene clearly, but I think he was referring to Sazed here
