I would assume by negative effects you mean savantism. Whether or not compounding savantism is possible is a matter of some debate but let’s keep that conversation here. A mistborn can suffer from savantism, Zane has been confirmed to be a steel savant, but Spook didn’t compound that was just normal burning. Almost certainly. As for the different flavors. I’ll come back when I have more time to think. Edit: mostly based on Spook’s experiences I think savantism would result in only allowing the extremes. A massive amount of the attributes it stores or virtually none. Iron: Wax shattering the floor heavy or literal feather weight Steel: near light speed travel or like moving through molasses Tin: probably looks just like allomantic Pewter: Absolutely massive or skinniest guy you’ve ever seen Zinc: just like steel but mental Brass: your hugs give 3rd degree burns or you die from hypothermia Copper: I really have no idea Bronze: Never sleep or die from sleep deprivation.

But you still have to burn the metal in the first place. If a thug flared pewter for 24 hours straight once a week he would develop savantism just like the thug who has it on a low burn non stop. But like I said, agree to disagree.

I do. Normal F-Gold is obviously powered by the metalborn in question, but when you use C-Gold the source of power is preservation allowing for savantism to develop.

Not at all, I just think that since compounding is essentially allomancy (which again is a big part of the debate you might disagree with) that savantism is possible.

I'd like to start off by saying I'm not trying to bash on @Calderis; I'm totally happy agreeing to disagree. I would like to hear others thoughts though. In short I think it is possible and Calderis thinks it isn't. Here's both our arguments.

I think it’s just that different shards have different types of splinters whether intentionally or as a byproduct of their intent. I’d assume that spren are native to the entire rosharian system and weren’t there before shardic inhabitation. However they would no longer be on Ashyn because it’s completely (I think) abandoned and spren rely on other beings to form. Edit: welp rshara beat me too it. I’d probably go with her thoughts.

With respect, savantism is a result of too much investiture overcharging your system. You don’t have to worry about it with Feruchemy because that investiture is coming from your own body, just at different tunes and rates. Compounding fuels Feruchemy with allomancy and it still results in drastically more investiture flowing through the body which can cause savantism.

The easiest solution to this question can be easily answered when you realize Miles is a savant. When you compound you are making a new allomantic metal so just like Spook’s constant tin Mile’s constant gold has caused savantism. As for how it would effect him i’d suspect it’s like a pewterarm but much worse. Quantas covered the other points quite well. Edit: to clarify he isn’t a F-savant but he is a A-savant because he burns so much charged gold to store in his metalminds

I have a couple friends that made them with a sort of gauzy gray fabric, but it didn’t turn out great. Arcanum Unbounded has a decent picture in it. I think the fleece jacket cut into strips would work alright but a Mistcloak is more of a mistcape so no sleeves. What I would probably do is get a large sheet of fleece and cut it (I wouldn’t know just how) into a large cape with a hood and clasp and what not then I’d cut the bottom half into the strips add on more fleece for the strips on the top. Keep in mind though all of this advise is coming from 0 sewing experience and a vague mental image.

Well it seems most people agree with my assumption (originally one mind and crafts a new mind each time) I do think it’s possible that Trell is a rogue avatar. And least when working thorough Paalm he is advocating complete freedom, borderline anarchy which could definitely be seen as a twisted version of Autonomy. I suspect that that formation of Avatars is Bavadin, not Autonomy, because the two ideas seem to clash a little bit. Autonomy would want to be a single whole, so she doesn’t have to work with others. I’d suspect it’s a Ati/Ruin situation where he had a strong enough will to change the interpretation of Ruin from a nuclear warhead to a natural entropy. Bavarian could have reasoned that with split personality’s each can act autonomously without comprising. And a question for you @Ixthos, do we have confirmation that she has MPD? Obviously she has multiple personalities, but is there the actual mental illness in there? I’d think the shard would erase the difficulties of MPD at the very least.

If they could change there perspective, or never saw themselves as disabled in the first place like Lopen, I’d bet they can see because the spiritual would overrule. With Kelsier not having a physical body he appear how he thought he would appear and to me that sounds more like spiritual than cognitive. Again though, it would all come back to perception.

I’ve always assumed he heals more efficiently. When you tap a greater amount of an attribute you use it less efficiently so he can dilate time on a tiny scale to heal over a longer period of time and thus more efficiently. @Quantus I think that would be with Cadium. When he burns he speeds up time for himself. He experiences minutes in seconds and would age faster if anything in. Edit: on the first point it could be a lot more efficient because he’s tapping hours and days of health in seconds here’s the coppermind entry if a very smart person wants to do the math. Ordinarily, when a Feruchemist is tapping an attribute at the same rate it was stored, they are able to get out exactly what they put in, for example if they store 50% of their strength for one hour they can tap that and be at 150% of their strength for one hour. However, if the Feruchemist taps at a greater rate, then some of attribute is lost, to facilitate the compression of the Investiture. This means that a Feruchemist who stores 50% of their strength for one hour might only be able to stay at 200% for 25 minutes, rather than a full half hour. The more a Feruchemist compresses the attribute, the more is lost.[14]

It’s important to remember that the births of the heralds are 10,000 some odd years from modern day Roshar. I wouldn’t classify them as any ethnicity. The only thing you can really say is Herald A looks vaguely like Ethnicity B.

For the basic 16 metals I’d go with Steel, Gold, and Zinc. I’d want zinc compounding because infinite mental speed is awesome and I can Riot.

I’d have to choose a Knight Radient. Can you guess which order? For fun let’s narrow down power sets to one world and realistically attainable i.e. twinborn yes mistborn no.
