  1. I always go in a different direction with near LS travel in the cosmere. The reason photons go so fast is because their massless. The energy needed to make something massless really fast is relatively small. I think scadrian near light speed travel will be achieved with a normal rocket ship and some fun ettmetal/F-iron combo to make the rocket way practically nothing. The fuel will then propel it at greater speeds for greater distances.
  2. Modern American, or just anyone with nukes. In an interplanetary war, nukes win. And @Bigmikey357 thank you for your service.
  3. Well my hypothesis is already in the title here's some supporting points. He fits the physical description perfectly. This is theoretically possible to enhance with hemalurgy and if anyone could pull it off its Ruin (though admittedly it might have just been easier to wait for a appropriate child). His personality and behavior was perfect as well, must harder to create unless he is hemalurically influenced. And finally, he is a Seeker powerful enough to sense the Well. The only person who has been demonstrated to have that skill is Vin. Who can burn bronze naturally and has a power boost from her spike. The main counterargument is that Ruin adjusted the prophecies to fit Alendi just as he did Vin. Kwaan even tells us that Ruin did alter them. But Alendi was still close enough to the mark the Kwaan with his uncorrupted memory saw him as a match.
  4. Ooooh, Pacific NW. Might be driving distance for Idaho.
  5. I don't understand your question, can you elaborate?
  6. I'd bet it just a religion with no shardic influence. They do pop up on occasion
  7. Great find! My question on that scene was on the "will not" as opposed to "can not." I was convinced that stormfather was just being a jerk, but there's a WoB floating around that shoots that down.
  8. I've really enjoyed the tech progression on scadrial but the thought of it in Roshar makes me nervous. I hope its almost all magitech and very little normal technological advances. Edit: really I want the cosmere to stay fantasy. I want gods and monsters and magic. I worry that as we hit the space age the fantasy will be toned back.
  9. Two type 4 biochormatic entities interacting. Pseudo shardplate made with awakening. Soulcasters screwing up the galaxy wide economy because that can just snap their fingers and make gold.
  10. All recruits are suspected radients? That's why they're recruits.
  11. Put it in a glass jar? Can they?
  12. Capture it, try to reverse engineer the connection to its hordelings to track then all down, systematically destroy each hordeling, and then kill the main body.
  13. But I'm sure they have a lot more efficient ways to teat for radiency. And that's not how they go about recruiting. There's never a mention of that recruiting tactic in Szeths training scenes. It just seems a bit far fetched.
  14. But if they thought he was a Radient candidate they would have killed him or recruited him. Neither of those (especially the first ) involves giving him shards.
  15. My only problem with this is that I do t understand why the skybreakers would just hand out shards without a specific purpose.
  16. A motive for the skybreakers killing Amaram has already been established. I feel like now the goal is to justify the methods. Here's a shot. They can't do it they're normal way. Amaram has a spotless record and is immune to most punishments anyways as a highlord under Alethi law. So the resort to drastic measures to kill a major enemy. Recruit someone that they have no intention of letting into the order, shard him up (with left over shards from the recreance), and cross their fingers. As to why they wouldn't retrieve the shards? The aforementioned legal immunity and if they have one set of recreance shards the probably have a TON. Also the WoB pretty much nails down he is working for the Skybreakers not the GB.
  17. To add the skybreakers don't actually have a problem with Radients. They just think killing them is the best way to stop a desolation. The sons of honor goal is to cause a desolation so Amaram would be a prime target even if he's not Radient.
  18. This is a side note but elsecallers have always felt more honor than cultivation to me. What are the arguments for them fitting C?
  19. I love how these are almost all mistborn
  20. What's everyone's favorite cosmere twist. Mine has to be the whole OreSeur TenSoon debacle. It just blows my mind how well it was played out. Never saw it coming!
  21. I'm a little sad we only have 2 votes for WoA.
  22. It's just a comment Adolin makes.
  23. I would ask if Rysimdium (sorry about the spelling) have gemhearts. If yes a non native species who forms a spren bond gets a gem heart. This might be KR form gemhearts. Maybe that's what happens at the 5th ideal? Maybe thats a surge granting Dawnshard? It would just lead a lot of places.
